How to prevent scoop spoon from clogging from steam??

Thanks everyone!! Today I've been using the small TT pots and pouring powder into bottle and it's worked fine!

Just wondered, do these little pots need to be sterilised or just washed?

Just washed and dried well - I use kitchen roll, there's no need to sterilise the pots because the powder isn't sterile anyway.

I can get 8 scoops in a TT powder dispenser......I just tap the powder in the pot down after about 5 scoops and it compacts it all.

I just scrape the inside with the knife I use to level the powder if it builds up in the scoop too much. There isn't really much you can do about it I'm afraid love xx

This is what we do. But i want to get some TT pots any start using them because i can never keep count, plus then no clogged up scoop either

Just a heads up if using the TT powder dispensers you can only fit 6 scoops of milk in one pot!! & if you slot the dispenser into the bottle the steam clogs the powder up & u cant get it out.
Xx

ooooo hun theres a little trick with getting powder into the TT dispensers lol once u have done 6 scoops hold and the tub and gently bang it on the surface, it knocks the air out the powder inside and leaves enough room for 7 scoops sometimes 8

i just wash each tub after use, cry it then refill it again, powder isnt sterile anyways so it would be pointless sterilising them :)

I have tried this, ive even used the back of the scoop to compress the powder & still only get 6and a half scoops in! Maybe i have dodgy pots! - never my fault of course!! Lol

I used to work on the theory that if the scoop is clean enough to store in the formula tub, it's clean enough to give the bottle a quick stir, which also removes any powder stuck to it. Otherwise, I rinsed it with water from the kettle.

heres wat i do, i sterilise all 6 bottles then place them on surface, i then take one bottle for measuring water and add 6 scoops of powder to the rest before adding the water, i then take the bottle im using for measuring and pour 6 oz of water in, i then add it to the bottles with the powder in, this way i never get a clogged scooper and the bottle i used to measure i just use as a water bottle for LO inbetween feeds :)

someone had a thread on how they done it

this used to really iratate me so starte doing what she done

get your bottles and put the amount of scoops of powder in eg 5scoops then use a spare empty bottle measure the liquid 5oz then pour over the powder! no need to worry bout clogged up scoop anymore :D

This is how I do it :happydance:
