Hi

I'm a first time Mum to be at 39! All is going well so far with my pregnancy, and my midwives are supportive of my plans for a home birth even at my ripe old age!

x

Hi

I'm a first time mum too and I'm 35, I will turn 36 a month after baby is born. I think it's funny being classed as 'an older mum' in the hospital. I still feel like I'm in my mid 20s !

Hey ladies

good to see im not the only one lol ,Stylejunkie I know what you mean lol,I feel like for me I am at the perfect age to be having babies but everyone classes me as old, cheeky buggars lol I still feel like i am in my mid twentys, especially already having a 4 and 5yr old, they keep me feeling younglol

It's nice to talk to women my own age! To be honest I haven't been worried about anything due to my age specifically. I don't see the point to be honest. I spent about a month in my first Trimester with severe morning sickness so just really happy that I feel well again:winkwink:

Hi,

Can I join in? This is my first pregnancy and I'm 34. I'll be 35 when bubs is born though x

Great, seems to be a few of us around the same age. Nice to see that a few of us are first time mums-to-be as well!

Ooh I got told my age meant they wouldnt recommend it for me. Also to be fair DH went white at the very idea so I decided not to scare him. Happily my local hospital has a birthcentre with a pool so im hoping to do that instead. And its only 10 mins away from where I live. My sister has very positive memories from the birth centre

Advantages to being an older Mum -
1) Nearly everyone else has had babies and understands
2) Close friends and family have given us LOADS of stuff - Ive hardly had to buy any baby clothes - which means I can concentrate on the cute stuff and not worry too much about buying the boring white vest type stuff.

Anymore for anymore?

Hi, I'm 36 and having my first baby. I agree, it's a wonderful age to have children as financially and mentally, it's a lot more secure now.

I've yet to get any hand-me-downs as half my friends chose not to have children and the other half already have children who are several years old. They've given most of their baby stuff away. I most likely will need to buy everything new.

Hello ladies!!

Wow well done. This is my 4th pregnancy and I have 1 child and so far this pregnancy is going well... my m/cs have both been early at 6 weeks. Not sure how you managed to keep going after all your losses its so heartbreaking. Congratulations I am so happy for you.

I will be 37 in November, and I have a 19year old and a 15 year old it feels like im starting all over again

Hi all, I've just turned 39 and expectin baby #4 in march. My eldest son is 16, daughter is 15 and my youngest son is 6.

I'm 37 and this is also my third baby. Congratulations to all the yummy mummy's out there!

Hi, I'm 37 and expecting my 3rd too. i will be 38 by the time baby arrives in February. My others are 9 and 6.

i'm not really having any issues with my age, i did have the nuchal fold test for free as I was over 35 and the results came back 1 in 3300 odd which was pleasing. Otherwise haven't worried too much - I still feel "young" and there is always someone older than me having/had kids!!
