June...here we come!!!

Ok ladies. I got my cd 3 blood work back and honestly I am a little frustrated/disappointed. I found out she only tested my Fsh and estradiol. I read another blog where the lady had 10 tubes and then ultrasound. I had 2 labs and although I am great fun I drove 1.5 hrs and paid for that out of pocket mostly and I got two tests. I feel a little short changed. When I asked the nurse if there was any other tests I could have done before our appt on January 21 because labs were all normal she said nope. Why? I am going going to call Thursday and tell them the appointment on July 21 better to be to go over my conception options not more testing I want that done now I have waited a full 14 months. Am I in the wrong? What do you ladies think?

I don't think so. When I went to my first RE appointment we had an in depth conversation about our journey and what we needed to do. Since I was at the beginning of my cycle they tested my AMH level, thyroid, and I think prolactin. I would call and ask about that. Don't know if it will help but you do need your AMH tested to see your egg reserve. That will help to know what route to go. If you have a good AMH level then medicated cycles or IUI would be a good route but if it is low then you would want to think about IVF. Also, my blood work was back quickly. Hope this helps:)

I don't think you're wrong. You're right, if that dr decided to take you on for infertility, that dr is responsible for your husbands infertility too! I had a bunch of tests done. Estrogen and progesterone, prolactin was another, there were 9 different test on one of the draw days. There were also days when I went at 8am and then back again at 4pm while fasting! I get what you're saying, you want all of the test stuff done so you have all of the info in front of you at the appt. can you move your appt up sooner so you can discuss all tests you can do and then keep your July 21st appt for the next step?

FBG, I agree with Michelle and Jen... I'm not even sure why they'd check your FSH but not your LH. The two go hand in hand, and the two numbers are usually needed together. Also not sure why they didn't offer you a P test for after you O. Mine also did AMH and thyroid as well. And keep in mind, AMH can be done at any point in your cycle, it doesn't change much like the day3 hormones. So I don't know why she isn't offering you that. Also, if you decide you want DH to have an SA, I'd push that too. They don't sound very proactive at that office. Sorry you're having difficulties with them!

FBG, sorry, I didn't see your other post before responding to this last one! Yea, I agree, that Dr sounds strange.... I'm shocked they don't see a reason to test your P when you've had two early miscarriages. I would demand to have all the stuff you want done, or if they aren't receptive to any of your concerns, I'd choose a different RE. Ugh, I'm so sorry you're dealing with that, as I know you were really excited about that appt. :( Let us know what they say if you call again today.

Thanks for all the well-wishes for today, girls. It means a lot having all this support. .I'll check back in later if I'm not going straight to sleep when I get home. I think I missed a few posts, so I'll catch up soon! :)

GL Erin! Fx'dd!!! :flower:

I see there is a lot of exciting stuff going on this month! I suspect we’re going to see quite some BFP’s this month!
GL Beagle, Erin, FBG, misaacs, Floridasian and everyone else!

AFM today is the last day on Clomid. I don’t have many side effects. I felt rather emotional on Saturday. TMI!! One side effect I have is gas. That and I had diarrhea during the weekend as well which I believe is linked to the Clomid. I just hope this works for us.

Floridasian, sometimes I feel like you too. I see everyone here doing a lot more advanced things in order to get PG. And I’m not even close. But it’s a great way to learn that’s for sure. If I do need more help, which I really hope I don’t, I’ll be an expert by the time I see the RE in a couple of months. Thanks for sharing everything!

And since it’s a new month today, here you go :dust:

This month has gotten away from me...I guess it is time for a new thread.

As far as Floridasian & Suzy feeling behind...I know I speak for everyone when I say I hope you don't have to come as far as some of us have. But like Suzy said, if you do, you will have plenty of advance knowledge going in. And you will always have resources to get advice from when the time comes.

FBG - I am so sorry yor dr is not as aggressive as you would like. I am in the same boat as far as distance...I drive about an hour 1/2 with traffic to my dr. So you want your money's worth as far as time, dr bills, & tim from work if you have to take it. With a regular gyno, they would give you the referral for the SA. If you are seeing a specialist, then YES she def should be doing the SA at the office. My RE does IVF & IUI so they are set up already with an SA facility. I had already gotten a lot of my tests with my gyno. So I did not need the SA or P test. I think they did the egg reserve, thyroid, and one of the tests for hereditary diseases (can't remember which one). So my dr already knew our issue was count. I would be straight up & just say this is not the treatment plan I want...this is not as aggressive as I want to be. It may come to a point you will need to switch dr if they are not on the same pace as you on this journey.

I woke up this morning with this horrible feeling I screwed up my trigger. It was one of those moments like when you feel like you over slept. I was thinking oh no I triggered last night but IUI is not until tomorrow! Then I was like oh yeh...36 hrs...I did it right. I felt really bloated inside last night during BD. Must be all those little guys growing inside...:) I have decided to go through my TWW with all the tricks people tell you...pomegranate juice, dark chocolate, pineapple core...has anyone heard ofanything else? I am trying to put in all the effort. Oh & even though it is not medically necessary, I am taking tomorrow off to relax at home.

new thread for anyone ready to move over...
