Kate McCann releasing a book...

LBC 97.3 are discussing this now. You can listen online at www.lbc.co.uk

I listen to LBC at work. Helps me concentrate lol. They discuss more than one issue in the hour but they come back to it when their listeners call in.

Who is the woman talking now? Not Kate McCann is it?

ETA: Ok no its not cos shes talking about her lol

I might get shot down here but anyway .....

I totally believe Maddie is alive & well cared for, I believe she was stolen too order for a desperate couple that couldn't have children and longed for a child.

I feel truly sorry for the McCanns, they have lost a child and that must be devastating, is what they did wrong ..... yes, did they deserve this ....... no, can anyone punish them more than they will ever punish themselves ....... no.

I do think more should have been done about them leaving their children alone, however, now, thats not going too solve anything.

I think it is amazing how many seemingly perfect parents there are out there, I mean, every single parent makes mistakes, I don't believe anyone that says they don't ..... sadly the McCann's mistake resulted in something awful happening.

When we went away when I was a child, my parents always used too leave us asleep, (they used a listening service), I am pretty certain that back then, crimes like these still happened, it is just it is more documented now a days

It is a very very sad situation, and one I Pray I NEVER find myself or anyone I know in :(

:thumbup::thumbup:

I have said from the beginning of this debate as a parent I have sympathy for them. I dont see how anyone cant. Like you said they made a mistake that ended up with a terrible ending.
I really do hope she is alive and well. I believe that they had nothing to do with it.. I think people need to realise a lot thats in the press at the time was false.

Im reading the sun now, the first line has me confused..
As soon as it was light Gerry and I resumed our search. We jumped over walls and raked through undergrowth. We looked in ditches and holes.

Yet, she's admitted in interviews that she's never actually physically looked for Madeline herself?
They make themselves look worse everytime they publicise it IMO.

You meant the woman who used to leave her 18 month old alone at the same complex?

I am going to buy the book and read it. I dont like the sun they always twist things. If its in the book I take it back :haha: its out thursday and I am off to dorset so it will be good reading for the motorway journey!

I don't like the McCann's as I said earlier. But I do feel some degree of sympathy for them. They're missing a child whether it was their own fault or not. If she WAS taken then that's awful. If they themselves were involved, I would doubt anything they did to her would have been on purpose

The blood they found, how do they know it was madeliene's?

I still don't understand how people can call planning to leave your 3 children totally alone as a mistake :saywhat:

What do you mean? I'm sure they either had her blood on record (heel prick tests and stuff although idk if they keep them) or they took DNA from either kate and jerry or the children to match them to the blood they found.

Yes - we all make mistakes.
A mistake is accidentally leaving the back door open while you leave the room to quickly put the washing on.
A mistake is letting go of your childs hand and turning your back for a minute in a busy shopping centre.

It is NOT a mistake leaving your children unattended for hours while you socialize with your friends.
It is NOT a mistake when, the night after you have left your children alone, your 3 year old daughter asks you why you didn't come and see her when she and her little brother had been crying for you - you leave them alone for hours AGAIN to socialize with your friends.

A loss of a child is not fair payment for neglecting them as they did. But they should be prosecuted as other parents have been for leaving their children alone. (one woman was prosecuted for neglect for leaving her 3 year old with her 14 year old brother while she popped to the shops for 30 mins.)

Plus they said it was, they said it must have been from when she had a "nose bleed" or "grazed her knee"

I think we all agree that not one of us is perfect, but I for one can think that leaving three children alone whilst you go out for dinner in a foriegn country, leaving the door unlocked is disgusting, the thought that these people actually thought that was acceptable is sickening.

We all do things that other parents would perhaps raise an eyebrow to, but that ^^^ That is just plain wrong & there are no excuses for it. They lost that girl due to their own neglect. And I'll say again the only peole that have my sympathy are Madeliene & the twins. They do not deserve such selfish parents - no child does!

I still don't understand how people can call planning to leave your 3 children totally alone as a mistake :saywhat:

They didnt see the danger, from listening to LBC I see its not as uncommon as I thought it was. One women has already called up to say she done it before on more than one occasion.

What else would you call it? I personally dont think they had anything to do with her going missing so to me its a mistake, they didnt mean for this outcome.

OK yeah sorry I was reading part of the book and they said they had found blood sent it back to the UK and it matched madeliene's. I was having a brain freeze.

I don't know what believe when it comes to this story, part of me thinks they are innocent and the other part of me thinks they had something to do with it.
I hope it comes out one day, what exactly happened.

a mistake can be defined as

an error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge, etc.

Therefore I think I have used the word correctly, however I can see why others might think is was an incorrect use of word but that is something we will have too agree too disagree on

They did not see the danger????? WTF! That is pathetic. People of their age, life experience, education, did not see the danger. BULLSHIT. They are selfish, horrible people & if that is their excuse then, I'm sorry, shot me down, but they do not deserve the privilege of having children.

And yes, I do mean horrble, anyone that puts their needs so greatly above the safety of their children is horrible IMO.

selfish and irresponsible

you have to lack serious braincells if you don't see the danger :dohh:

I mean in the sense that they didnt think it would happen to them so therefore they didnt see the danger.

I agree. my kids are infinitely more important than my social life.
