I know I said I was leaving but this is one thing I NEED explaining.

How, when Maddie wasnt supposidely found missing til 10pm, did The Telegraph manage to publish a story at 12:05am saying a girl had gone missing & The Foreign Office were involved?

2 hours later?

It just wouldn't happen so soon normally!

Why did this happen? Anyone?

Innocent until proven guilty allows a lot of guilty people to walk free because they can afford top lawyers (sorry......money donated by the public to help with the search for their child PAYS for their top lawyers, I digress....) who know how to pick holes in every single peice of 'evidence' found.

There is more than enough evidence to suggest the McCanns involvement somehow. To PROVE it, no. Doesn't make them innocent though.

My ex husband was never tried in a court of law - the victim who came forward, and her parents, didn't want to put her through the ordeal of a trial on top of everything else.

I totally understood that - but it meant that I had to fight really hard through the family courts to make sure that he never got unsupervised time with our children. It took over 2 years but I won .... thanks to SS, who listened to me and to the victim and ordered psychiatric reports on him... who didn't assume that 'not proved guilty in a court of law' meant that he was innocent.

As far as the general world is concerned my ex has no criminal record - he's never been charged with anything ... would you say he was innocent?

Because his victim certainly wouldn't.

Sorry to seem harsh Hon It's just that I'm no spring chicken and the things I've seen and experienced mean that nothing people do really surprises me anymore

If anyone can explain the news story breaking so suddenly I'd be really grateful. It's creeping me out this could be a whole lot bigger than we think.

Oh and Sam no I cant answer it, imagine the press and/or the FO got involved every time a child had been missing for an hour and forty minutes. The papers would be full of missing stories, and by the next day they would have to tell the world that it was okay they were found at the park/hiding in a tree/playing at someones house etc.

I couldn't sleep the other night after reading about the interview/appeal where Gerry mutters "Don't speak" to Kate I didn't listen to the audio clip cos I knew that would send me over the edge
Its all so horrible and to me and most of the others on here, glaringly clear what happened that night

It doesn't make them guilty either. It's just speculation, and in this case, a woman has lost her child

Some of the things that have been said on this thread about the Mcanns are terrible. You don't know what happened that night, any more than I do, but I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt.

Why would they still be trying to keep it in the media after all this time? It doesn't make any sense.

Dizzymum, thats kind of the point *none* of this makes sense... we're just gathering info from things that have been said in the reports/in the interviews..

A school girl went missing near my house the other month and was gone for over 24hours, she was looked for helicopters etc ... it was in the paper the next day and the article was TINY. at the back. How come after so long she wasnt front page breaking news like maddie? Yes she turned up but it was much longer before it was news?
