Gerry said they didn't give them anything at all. Then changed it to say he wasn't going to comment. Then Maddie's grandad said that the children WERE given Calpol that night to help them sleep. I don't think you can really accidentally OD on Calpol though. Who knows
I dont get why he said they werent going to omment, and then did

I imagine you can OD on calop as its paracetamol xx
They said they would always co-operate with the police in any queries they had, yet when they were interrogated they refused to comment on over 40 questions that they were asked. And you could OD on Calpol but not by accident surely? It only contains a small amount of paracetemol so I would guess you'd have to take quite a lot of it.
Plus paracetamol overdose doesn't cause immediate death ... it's a rather nasty, long drawn out, death by liver failure.
Personally I think it's more likely that she met with an accident whilst alone in the apartment and was found some time later (too much later to allow for pretending it had just happened and calling for an ambulance and when the fact that her parents had been absent was obvious).
If that happened then either her parents panicked and stupidly hid her body or there was some other reason why they didn't want her to undergo a post mortem - if the latter, then a lot of people point to a statement made by Dr Gasper, which makes for
very disturbing reading
