Long Irregular Cycles 'r' Us

I've been thinking of acupuncture too. Do we know anyone who has had any success with it??

Finally on a new cycle!! Woo-Hoo!!
I wasn't sure yet yesterday, but AF has definitely arrived this morning! Now the question is, how long will she stay for? And when will I ovulate this cycle? If at all ...

Happy this morning anyway! =D

--Edit--
Just noticed my ticker hasn't updated. Will have to figure out how to change that. I changed yesterday's to AF as well just because I did need the pad, but didn't want to change it yet if it would only be 1 day. So I'm on CD2 already =)

Woohoo Erised! I'm cd2 today too. I'm starting clomid tonight though, so it *should* shorten my cycle. Just keep checking your CM and then use OPK's if it goes watery or egg-whitey. Fingers crossed for a shorter cycle for you this 'month'.. how long was it this time?

Wow, I bet your so relieved! It was a mammoth cycle by any standard.

:dust: for your fresh new cycle!

I've just noticed both of you are on CD2!

real cycle buddies - hope this is a good omen for both of you!

Stardancer - My official count for last 'months' cycle was 79 days. And yay for us being actual cycle buddies for a while! Knowing us, at least a couple of weeks. Hope the Clomid works for you =) I'll definatly start checking CM properly when AF clears, and I might just OPK every day just to make very sure I won't miss it. Got a whole bunch of them laying around anyway. So as soon as AF clears, I'll start using them again.

Littlestar - So do I!! It would be fantastic if both me and Stardancer got our BFP this month =D We'll keep our fingers crossed! Looking at your ticker, it shouldn't be too much longer until you join us in a new cycle as well =)

I'm secretly hoping for a :bfp:
i'm not sure if i could keep up with TTC with cycles this long!
i feel a bit like the turtle in the turtle and hare race (everyone else seems to lap me)
not as much on here though all us long cycle ladies like to take our time.

fingers crossed now i've successfully ovulated this month i hope my cycles will start to reduce considerably.

Well of course we hope you get a BFP first! Well more important than AF in the 2ww ... but I'm sure you know what I mean =)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Any clue when you're going to test yet?

I do know what you mean about the turtle and hare race ... If my cycles stay this long and unpredictable I'll probably stop the TTC and just stop preventing for a while. That ofcourse, is easier said than done. For now I'm in a happy place, at the start of the cycle. Here's to hoping this one will be better, that way I can take it for a while =)

Yeah, we'll let you have the BFP first, then us two shortly after..

79 days! Is there any chance they'll shorten? or are they always long? I've gone 28 days before, but also 95 :( and for a couple of years I only got 2 cycles a year. This one was 38 days, so not too bad...

I'm hoping they'll shorten, I've not been off BCP too long (5 months). First cycle was pretty spot on, only around 30 days, second hasn't been as lucky. Didn't keep track of it properly until this cycle, and only from about a third in (apart from temp, did that from the start) as I started to think it being this long wasn't normal. Actually hoped I was pregnant and that's why AF didn't show up, but nah. I don't seem to have ovulated last cycle either, so hoping this cycle will bring a lot of changes.

To try and help ovulation on the way I've changed my diet to try and lose some weight. Very worried that that might be stopping it, but know it's likely to just be the fact I've only been off BCP a couple of months. So yeah, hoping there's room for change!

Lets hope that the fact your cycle was only 38 days means you're on the right track =) That combined with Clomid will hopefully mean a nice and short (read: regular) cycle, or a 9 month long one with a happy baby in the end! =D

Erised, have you thought about Agnus Castus?

.. and this might seem like a *really* stupid question, but do you read Harlan Coben's books? It's just he write that (read: regular) thing, and I've never seen it anywhere else! LOL

lol, nope ... never even heard of him. Don't really know where I got the whole (read: regular) thing from. Think I must have seen it somewhere years ago and just picked it up. Don't use it often though.

I did concider Agnus Castus, but reading more about it online has kind of put me off to be honest. The things I've read, women often end up with longer cycles instead of shorter, and the fact that if you still happen to take it when you do get pregnant it often leads to miscarriages or the bean not sticking properly has made me a bit worried. Have any of the ladies on here had good luck with it?

hmmm, I've heard great things about it regulating cycles and bringing on ovulation, but I've never tried it because I was already on metformin. I was going to have a go with it if I hadn't been given the clomid. Might be worth doing a forum search and seeing if you can find any success stories. xx

Hope your all having a fab weekend!

unfortunately not... the :witch: makes a really poor house guest. :hissy:

I took my first clomid last night, and then laid awake half the night waiting for side effects. .. was rather disappointed to have none... but am thankful today :happydance: and hoping for the same for the next 4 days. :)

4.15am and I can't sleep... I guess i'm technically on CD53 as I've had spotting on and off since CD51 but not much else. If :witch: is going to show her ugly face, I wish she would hurry up so I can get it over with :hissy: I start acupuncture on the 20th, so I might be seeing a lot more of her... I have to keep telling myself that's a good thing as i might finally see the end of these looooong cycles :happydance:

 tickled Pink - I know how you feel i'm CD63 today, on the plus side though i have definately ovulated this time!

let us know how you get on with accupuncture :happydance:

Well, AF is still here. After just 3 days I'm already thinking I've seen enough of her! Lol, the happiness of her showing up didn't stay long I'm afraid. I'm hoping she'll pack her bags in 2 days or so and return in 9 months or 4 weeks. But hey, I'll sit it out. At least I don't have cramps, sore boobs or any symptoms what so ever. Just AF, that's all. I count myself lucky.

littlestar, how are your temperatures holding up? I clicked to check your chart, but get a graphic where your chart should be that says 'Error: Cycle too long for this view. This cycle is not legible beyond 60 days.' Any clue what that's about?

--Edit--
My ticker says CD4, guess it's been 4 days of AF already, not 3! Oh, I pay so much attention =D You'd think I'd remember, wouldn't you?

it says that for the wheel chart the normal one below that is fine, i will change it to save confusion.

I see, silly me for not scrolling down to check.
See your temp has taken a dip, lets hope it's an implantation dip =)
