Yeah as the fluid level can easily fluctuate with how baby is positioned I've decided not to worry too much until they get a read below a 5. Up till that point all they do is monitor anyways. If you're still lingering around an 8 could you ask that they give you fluids for your own piece of mind? It obviously worked once so you would like to try it again. Argue your case. This is your baby and need to look out for their well being and do what you think is right. If you could, you'd give yourself fluids, but obviously you can't. That's what I'd do anyways.
It's definitely not your fault. I know you said you have other issues going on as well, and I don't know what they are, but as far as the fluids go, do not blame yourself hun. There's nothing you could have done to prevent it. Heck, until it happened to me, I didn't even know too little was even a thing. If it was something they knew how to prevent completely, they'd tell us from early on what to do.
