March...Hoping for some Irish luck to bring us little Charms

I am trying really hard not to focus so much on symptoms but I have been crampy and now I have breast tenderness today and I feel like I have an increase in cm. TMI but I can feel it coming out. I never have that... And it feels weird. I hate doing this to myself but I can't help it.

I think it is impossible (for me at least) not to symptom spot! Plus I think it helps keep us thinking positive too! Hoping these are good signs for you and at 6dpo your little bean could be implanting! :)

I have had a couple strong stabbing pains on the right lower side next to my hip...hoping it is O!

Savvy have you been doing anything new this cycle that would cause O symptoms? You were not getting them before, right? I think it is good you are having these things. As long as you are not extremely uncomfortable or in pain.

Doc just called me with some bad news. My hCG went up this morning to 2.17 (up from 1.92 last week) so he's still concerned with the possibility of a pregnancy tumor and wanted to give me a shot of methotrexate if I my repeat hCG next week after AF arrives is still above 2. He won't know for sure that it's a pregnancy tumor if it stays above 2 as it could just be something my pituitary gland produces but he'd rather be safe than sorry.

I told him this news was devastating because that meant we couldn't try for at least another month and he said if I actually had pregnancy tumor I wouldn't be able to try for SIX MONTHS! I'm on the verge of bursting out crying right now. This is almost more devastating than my m/c itself! :(

I've been exercising like crazy hoping that it would rid the residual hCG. I've also been taking detox pills because I read it somewhere that someone was drinking a detox tea and her hCG went down quickly. Apparently neither of those worked. I don't know what else to do now.

I am sorry to hear this. I don't have any knowledge of what you are going through. Just keep doing what you are doing...will that count to go down! And hopefully your next blood work will be a lot better. Don't focus on the tumor possibility...focus on the low hcg possibility. Just keep saying it will go down!!! Damnit!!! :)

I am so sorry. :hugs: I am glad your doctor is monitoring your situation and I hope your hcg number goes way down next week.

I started a new multivitamin and some B6 (when I remember). I never remember feeling like this before. I thought maybe I pulled a muscle when I was really cramping on Friday/Saturday and then I felt almost back to normal on Sunday but now I keep getting strong pricks of pain...no other symptoms. Guess I will hold out and hope it is the egg getting ready to burst out!

Well I hope it is O. I wish I could describe the feeling to you. Mine sometimes feels as if AF is coming.

Hi everyone!
Hope you don't mind if I join you. I actually read this entire thread (all 33 pages) yesterday and today and I feel really comfortable here. I've been anxiously following your stories and can relate. Here is my first post if you wanna know more about me :-). https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/trying-conceive-1/2145011-ttc-now-positive-opk.html
Beaglemom: I am really sorry about the AF. From what I could understand, April will be a good month for you :-)
Savvy: I'm recognizing the sharp pain symptons you're having. I had those a couple of days ago, when I had um pos OPK. The pain was so sharp, I thought it could be something much worse but then it just stopped.
If you read my post, you'll know that by now I don't know what to think.
I don't know if I O'd or not. Is it possible to get an LH surge a couple of days before AF is expected? Ah... I'm tired of analyzing this right now.

Look forward to reading you and baby dust to everyone

Welcome...keep up with us...in about a week or 2 we will be starting an April thread.

I have no experience with vitex, but some women have great success with it. I also heard fertilitea can help regulating your cycle. I drank it on the one cycle I was in between clomid & clomid + IUI. I do not have cycle issues & it actually made it shorter for me...but no other side effects except good cm & higher sex drive. But I can't drink it while on clomid. We are dealing with a count issue...but you may know that if you read all 33 pages ;)

Good luck to you & I hope you stick around with us...although I always hope we lose people to the pregnancy boards :)

Welcome Suzy! Glad you are joining us. Sounds like we are entering the tww around the same time too. It is so exciting to get a positive opk and honestly the last few days I have had some AF type cramps myself...I was talking with my hubby a bit ago just saying I hope this all means I am going to have a strong O. Unfortunately you could have an LH surge and then get AF a couple of days later, it is known as a luteal phase defect. The last two cycles I charted I only had a 9 day LP (luteal phase) after I O before AF showed up. Basically it doesn't give my bean enough time to implant. I have an appointment for a blood test for my progesterone at 7dpo, that way my doctor can see if it is low and can get me on some meds to help lengthen it. Most LP are around 12-14 days. But just because you have cramps doesn't mean AF is on her way...it could be implantation or just all the hormones. Hang tight with us and keep us posted. We are all hoping to see lots of bfps soon!! :flower:

Well I hope it is O. I wish I could describe the feeling to you. Mine sometimes feels as if AF is coming.

It did sort of feel like AF cramping the other two days, today was different though. Feeling more like sharp, quick stabs and a bit of discomfort for a few hours. Feeling a bit better now. My hubby asked if I was firing off multiple eggs! Wouldn't that be my dream come true!

Welcome Suzy! I have really irregular cycles as well due to pcos. I took fertilaid for women which contains vitex and it worked! I took it 2 months and finally got a positive OPK on cd14. I was normally Oing, or at least getting a pos OPK on cd18-21, so it definitely helped! I also got my BFP this cycle so the Oing earlier definitely did the trick I think! Good luck!!

And floridasian, what exactly is a pregnancy tumor? I've never heard of that... It sounds awful though. I really hope that's not what's going on!!

Here is my new situation...any advice is very appreciated!

Had positive opk yesterday at 2pm. Then had sharp pains (right side) off and on for a few hours yesterday afternoon. That stopped around 6pm and it just felt a little sore.

Temp rose up this morning and I had two very blazing positive opks again at 6am this morning. Also some very light cramps low.

Does that mean I didn't O yet? Either way I am continuing on with SMEP tonight and tomorrow too. I was excited with the temp rise and then I used an opk and was disappointed! Thanks for any help/suggestions/advice! :)

How are you all doing today ladies?

Hi Allison :laugh2:

Today I’m doing better, at least the pain and discomfort are subsiding. The medication really helps. As for the AF symptoms, I don’t really feel them today except for a weird sensation in my lower back. Which of course makes me wonder if all the symptoms were actually due to the UTI. You see, this is why we need these forums, to vent! And all of us here know exactly what it means to over analyze every single thing.

Savvy: I actually hoped the vitex would take care of any LP defect or other issue. We’ll see if this is a TWW or a 2 day wait. I really don’t want to get my hopes up but deep down I can’t help but feel some hope as long as AF doesn’t appear.
Regarding your question: I honestly wouldn’t know but I’m quite sure you already O’d with all those symptoms. Just not sure when :laugh2: maybe the pos OPK were LH leftovers? I’ve read that the first LH day of LH surge is the most important one. And that’s the on to take into account. Just BD for the next couple of days to make sure. On Saturday, I had a really sharp pain as well and then suddenly it stopped and I felt a bit sore. Exactly the same as what you had. And I had the surge the same day. I don’t temp but I think I O’d.

I already decided that if nothing happens naturally, I ‘m seeing my OB in May. That’s one more cycle after this one. And then I’m going to ask for tests. I can’t afford to wait another 6 months or a year at my age.

Btw, I’m taking folic acid and preconception multivitamins as well.

I am not a chart person...but I think your bd schedule is a good one. Usually my symptoms totally go away after O. Can your temp rise just before O?...maybe go up higher tomorrow???

I have not gotten a call back from my dr office. I will probably put a call in to the answering service today. It is CD 5 which is when I should be starting clomid.

Savvy - I think you o'ed yesterday. I also tend to have 2-3 days of blazing positive OPK's and it looks like FF normally puts my o 12-24 hours after the first positive. I used to think you o after the last positive, but now I think I tend to agree that you o 12-24 hours after the first positive. But of course everyone's different. It's just my opinion! Let's see what tomorrow's temp looks like for you!

Allison - a pregnancy tumor is formed from leftover cells of a failed pregnancy. Not all pregnancy tumors turn cancerous. It's quite rare actually. I was doing some googling yesterday and found that Jen from "The Little Couple" on TLC had this - she got pregnant in August of last year and had a very early loss. By October, she was bleeding and she found out that she had stage 3 uterine cancer that spread to her lungs. So it's a very rapid growing cancer and definitely not be to taken lightly. That's why my doctor is being so cautious I think so whatever I *might* have doesn't turn cancerous. Although with my number so low I really don't think it's a tumor as plenty of other clinics consider anything under 5 to be negative (while my RE said his clinic considers hCG under 1 to be truly negative). Here're some links to her story: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...cancer-uterus-caused-nonviable-pregnancy.html

Welcome Suzy! :)

Thanks girls for all your help and reassurance. I have never felt that pain before and if I don't have anything come up today than I definitely think I O yesterday or sometime in the middle of the night which might explain the + opk this morning. Like I said I plan to BD tonight and tomorrow just incase. Hopefully my temp will go even higher tomorrow!

Suzy, hopefully your AF won't show but I also think it is a great idea to have a backup plan for testing. I am over 30 and I don't want to waste more time. Going to get progesterone checked next week and decide if I want a referral to the specialist in April or May. At least we can be tww buddies!

Beaglemom, are you taking clomid this cycle? Hope you hear from your doctor soon.

Floridasian, thanks for explaining. I can totally understand why your doc is being so cautious. I have heard of the 5 and lower but it never hurts to be extra careful and make sure you go back to below 1. Remind me again, how long have you been ttc?

My dr just called & my clomid is waiting for me. I will go pick that up now. I also put in a call to the medical reimbursement center (for my HSA) & they said as long as my acupunture is performed by a doctor, I can use the HSA. So that is AWESOME news. I am going to visit a couple of places at lunch. My dr also is going to give me the RE referral. To be honest, I am a little disappointed in this only because it is a bittersweet situation. While I am excited to not have a delay in my cycles (hopefully) it is also a little sad to already be planning if this IUI fails. BUT I am looking in to the reflexology & acupunture & I am stocked up on bath salts, candles, meditation music, & herbal tea. I also did my first work out with Daily Burn yesterday. You guys who are not gym people should check it out. Basically you get a daily work out through streaming on your tv or computer. I really liked it & I could do it at home in my pjs. I really hate getting up early to work out or changing before/after a work out. So this was great for me. Plus I could chose a lower beginner plan that makes you feel okay if you need to take it down a notch or take a break. No super skinny buff girls to intimidate you. This cycle is going to be all about getting my mind in a good place, putting good things in my body, & getting active. I also just got a new foster beagle who needs to lose weight. So we both had a weigh in yesterday! I foster dogs until they get adopted. So I plan to not eat any fast food, cut out all sodas, & limit my junk eating. I think having a junk meal once in a while is okay & helps to keep you sane. The only caffeine I will be drinking is my 1 cup of daily coffee at work. But I am currently alternating between half caf & regular. So I only have regular on Tues & Thurs.

So I called ard & Ian do the acupuncture for $50 - $100. Basically there are 3 price points at 3 different places. I am tempted to go with the middle one...plus it is oriental & I feel like they would be better at it. I am so sorry if that wounds bad, I don't mean it to be. But I could barely understand him. The other place which is the lowest asked me a lot of questions & was really nice. They are all within a dedent distance from my work. I have emailed a co-worker whose wife is a chiropractor to ask if she might know anything about them. But basically I need to start right away & then they would do another session right before O. And both drs I actually talked about my issues with were very familiar when I said IUI. The oriental asked my issue & I said infertility & he said IVF or IUI? very quickly. So I am really feeling swayed towards him...but I am a little lost. So anyone else who is/has done acupuncture have any suggestions? Do you go to an herbalist/acupuncturist?

Savvy - I started ttc last July. Got pregnant late November/early December and had the D&C on Jan 14th.

Beaglemom - I'm not a gym person either. I have a treadmill at home that I run on. I also do home aerobic exercise (almost like a combination of dancing around and jumping up and down - basically just anything to get my heart rate up). I am not intimidated by super fit people at the gym but I just don't have to time to change, take off my makeup, go to the gym, exercise, shower, put on my makeup again. That whole routine will probably take more than 2 hours! Much easier to just exercise at home :)

Floridasian, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's nothing serious!!

Savvy, I'd agree with whoever said to count the first pos OPK as the real one. So I'd think you already Oed, but it definitely can't hurt to BD some more! Lol!

Beaglemom, I wouldn't feel sad about planning for a failed IUI in a way. To me, I always feel like if I go that extra step without knowing for sure if I'll need it, it's kinda like a jinx. Like I ordered a whole new bottle of pills and jinxed myself bc now I don't need them. So let's just hope you'll be canceling that RE appt! : ) and I totally feel you about the whole gym thing. Whenever I had a gym membership I never went. I hated going alone and nobody ever wanted to go with me, so I just bought an elliptical machine and I try to do that regularly. Although I've been slacking since the BFP... Ugh, I've just been so lazy. Lol.

So I had my first ultrasound this morning. Got to see the little bean and see the heartbeat. It was 108 bpm and they said anything above 100 is normal so everything seems normal so far! Yay!

Beaglemom, glad you heard from your doc and got your clomid all lined up. While it is sad to have to ask for a referral in advance, if you don't plan in advance and get an appointment you might have to wait even longer since specialists tend to fill up. The good thing is you can always cancel the appointment! I have zero experience with acupuncture but I would say go with your gut and if the oriental place impressed you and you feel comfortable then go there. I am not a gym person at all. We have done work out videos including P90X - which is just too much for me while ttc. I do try to walk but the weather makes it tough in the winter. Thanks for the suggestion - I will have to check out Daily Burn, that might be something I can do until the weather gets better here.

No pains in my stomach...I feel great today. I am going to use one more opk this afternoon just because I am curious.
