march lambs overdue thread

Hey Boonies,

I went to the Dr's & went straight from there to the hospital as they wanted to start the induction process today instead of waiting until Sunday because they found that my amniotic fluid was indeed too low.

It took hours to get me situated in a room (which also meant I couldn't get online to update you wonderful ladies), but I'm now in the room & they've administered the induction medication (Cervadil I think).

Nerves are a bit jangled as this is not what I was expecting, but hopefully by this time tomorrow I have my lo in my arms.

Wish me luck!

Hiya Hattie...

I'm happy to report the arrival of little Miss Tessa Nicole Thompson. Born March 25 at 9:04pm at 5 lbs 15 oz & 19 inches. Will hopefully have pics to upload after she has her bath.

As for the induction itself...it did't go too well. After they started the induction medicine they discovered that little Miss Tessa's heart rate was dropping down in to the 70-90 range so they stopped the induction medication after about 3 hours & I wound up getting a c-section. It was fortunate I did as Tessa had passed some miconeum after the induction process had begun & was truly in distress.

At any rate, while I would have preferred a natural vaginal delivery the bottom line is I wound up with a beautiful, happy, healthy when all is said and done & am totally in love.

Been to midwives today and baby is still 3/5 engaged whcih it was 2 weeks ago!

Ooh I'm getting fed up now! Almost a week overdue. Had braxton hicks for 5 hrs Monday and thought that was it! But then they vanished! Day after lost mucus plug, day after that (weds) had a sweep where the MW said cervix has thinned and head is low and she thinks I'll have baby by Monday... But not had any signs since! Just a couple of braxton hicks. Really don't want to be induced as planned a home birth and have the birth pool set up ready! Sorry for the rant. Feel a bit better now lol. Xxx

im uber fed up now!!! just took dogs down lane, got muddy then relaised my other trousers which fit are in wash machine and ones i was wearing muddied up so im houebound!!! dam it!!!!

im 3 days overdue today..no signs at all and baby is still only 4/5ths engaged! Anyone elses not engaged very much either? Also my fundal height is only 38cm, midwife said that is because my uterus is getting lower but is that normal??

on monday when i went to midwife baby was less engaged than yours and ive measured 38am fndal heaight for the last 6 weeks , cervix high closed and with length (?), dunno what it all means but do know im over due and fed up!!

i keep reading on net that it can all changed within a few hours so im clingin on to this lol!!!

HUGE congrats for yr gorgeous baby girl aladrian. I bet u didn't care how she arrived in the end, just that u had her in yr arms healthy and happy. I have recurring nightmares about induction causing complications. I'm hoping my sweep starts things off...if not the induction road it'll have to be. Enjoy yr little precious bundle and rest up. x

Off 4 my sweep at 3.40. Really nervous 4 sum reason!! I just wanna b told that i'm dilating (even though i know deep down i'm not!!) and bub's head is ready to go!!! haha wishful thinking i know. Oh well, apparently 10% work to start things off.... hope i'm 1 of them!! Huge sympathy 2 other overdue march lambies. This waiting game really is something else....arrrggghhh!!

I have had two and still no baby even tho im 3cm dilated and have a short soft cervix

P.S has anyone ever wondered whether there bodies know how to go into labour??? is it possible for them not to know??
