Just curious about people's different experiences with when they started feeling movements/flutters with an anterior placenta.
I was looking forward to feeling movements a bit earlier this time. as it's my second pregnancy - but found out at 12 week scan that I have an anterior placenta so I don't think it's going to happen now..!
One person has told me around 17 weeks and another person said not until about 22 weeks - both in their first pregnancy.
Would be interested to hear some more experiences :)

Hi hun... i found out at my scan at 14 weeks that I have an anterior placenta.. with my last prenancy i felt the first 'pings' of movement at bang on 16 weeks... I am 16 weeks friday and nothing that I am certain of yet... I kind of feel like I am going to be a nervous wreck this pregnancy if I can't feel movements like last time. Sorry I can't offer much advice.. just wanted you to know you are not alone!

I felt first definite movement (more of a kick than a flutter!) at 16 weeks with my first pregnancy too, but that was twins so it was probably earlier than most.. So I thought maybe around the same for this one, and I'm not even there yet, but just want a rough idea of how long I'm going to have to wait, haha! Especially when I see/hear of people having flutters at 13/14 weeks! :-(
Hope you feel something soon :)

This is my 3rd pregnancy, all with anterior placentas. I felt my 1st at 20 weeks, 2nd at 21 weeks, this one just before 14 weeks! I felt this one from the outside a lot earlier than my other 2 as well, regular movements from the outside at 17 weeks as opposed to around 24 weeks with my other two. So you never know, you could still feel LO soon even though you have an ap :)

Hi ya, I am exactly the same as you. This is my 2nd pregnancy and didn't find out until my 20 week scan that I had an anterior placenta (currently 22 weeks). I felt movement from 16 weeks but not very often and it was mainly in the evening when sitting down relaxing. I feel strong kicks now but they are still only very subtle compared to my first when I didn't have an AP. So you may feel movement very soon but don't worry if you don't as not everyone does.

This is my fourth baby but first time I've had an anterior placenta. I'm a fairly thin person and I felt flutters and kicks really early with my first three. This time, I've felt flutters early still, but all on the inside. I'm 18+2 and still haven't felt anything on the outside. Baby flips and rolls and kicks all day, but nothing DH can feel yet :( I don't really have any experience, I'm in the same boat....

This is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta. I didnt feel my first baby until 21/22 weeks. Iv been feeling this baby since around 14weeks at the sides when resting in the evenings and getting stronger every day, felt kicks from the outside (very low) for the first time last night :) xx

Thanks for all the replies, still quite a wide range then!
Aw that's nice, how many weeks are you bathbabe? :)

I will be 22weeks on friday! I dunno where my ticker has vanished to?!?! X

This is my first pregnancy I have an anterior placenta with twins and felt the first movement around 21 weeks

I only just found out yesterday at my 20 week scan that I have an anterior placenta but I had a feeling this week the case. With my DD I was feeling strong movement from 16 weeks onward but this time hardly anything. I've had tiny almost unnoticeable flutters from about 18 weeks. It's really only in the last couple of days that I've felt definite kicks and that's only really in the evenings when I'm sitting or lying still. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow.

Bathbabe that is so weird I felt kicks on the outside for the first time on Tuesday and tried to get OH to feel but typically as soon as he kept his hand their baby wouldn't kick lol. I am 22 weeks friday also due 2nd October :happydance::thumbup:

This is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta with my first I didn't feel anything until 21/22 weeks. This time round I have been feeling slight movement at the sides since about 16 weeks but nothing regular as yet.

Hi, I don't have an answer but looking for an answer. I just had my 12th week scan to realize its anterior placenta for me too. Its my second and was eagerly waiting to start feeling the movements. I feel sad its going to be longer than usual...

This is my first pregnancy. I have anterior placenta. I first felt quickening at about 17 weeks. We first felt kicks on the outside yesterday. I am 22 weeks tomorrow. He's extremely active.

Questionable flutters around 16w. Definite around 18w. I can't remember kicks in the outside but DH started to be able to feel them around 23w
