Movements with an anterior placenta

I'm not sure I think on the left? No idea I felt the 2 boys earlier from about 18 weeks but I thought with this being my 3rd I'd feel it sooner but then midwife couldn't really get a good position for heartbeat she did get it in the end over the right hand side as baby is transverse acc to my notes I've a gender scan next Wednesday so will see I juat feel like I've a funny tummy like it's twisting and turning no major jolts or pokes just yet tho :( hopefully soon xxx

Anterior with #2 my most hyper active baby. It didnt stop me feeling any movement.

I'm 17 weeks with anterior placenta and think I felt movement twice in the last few days, only to the side though when ive been laying on that side in bed, fingers crossed ot will get more regular

This is my second time with an anterior placenta. Actually AP was only confirmed yesterday at my 20w scan (even though I'm 21w) - but I had already suspected it. With my first I don't think I really felt any movement until about 21/22w, but this time I've been feeling faint movements since about 17w. They are getting much stronger now though and I can feel them from the outside if my hand is in exactly the right place.

I've had a few very questionable 'bubble pops' quite low down today but thinking its potentially just wind or something, as I know it's still early days with an AP!

OK I've decided these were actually the first movements, as I've felt lots more since and they're getting gradually stronger - feel more like little jabs already :)
They're still subtle enough that I can only feel them when I'm laying down and not doing anything else (he seems to wake up on the evenings!), but they've been in the same sort of place/area each time and OH actually saw a couple of them lastnight so now I know I'm not imagining it! :)

I feel my LO really well lower down, but still tickles up high where my placenta is (high anterior), it might be that you're getting the same now. The placenta will 'move' as your uterus grows, which might be why you didn't feel anything there before. I didn't really feel anything until 18wks :) 16wks is early for an AP, don't be surprised if you go a few days without feeling him/her, as if they go to where the placenta is then you're not likely to feel much at all :) xx

I've had anterior placenta both times. With my first baby I felt an individual flutter at 14 weeks and then something at 16 w and then nothing till week 20, when I started feeling regular movement. This time around I felt her earlier, but it also went by much faster so it felt like I could feel her right away. But I started feeling regular movement at 16 weeks

As for counting the kicks, I'm no expert and I've done no reading about it, so my opinion probably has no value, but I don't think keeping such rigorous track of movement is necessary till the last tri. I remember with my first they would tell me to make sure I had felt at least some kind of movement once every four hours, and to go to the ER if 4 hours went by without movement, but that was probably around month 8, when labour was approaching

Oh yeah, I'm definitely not worried about frequency of movement at all at this stage! Not an issue until 26-28 weeks about regular movements, it's just lovely to be feeling little pokes in the evenings now, even if it's only been for a couple of days! :)

:happydance: yes it is :D

I have an anterior placenta . I started feeling some flutters at 15 weeks , today I've felt my first definate movements at 18 weeks :)

I found out yesterday at my 20 week scan that I have a high anterior placenta but I have been feeling movement low down since about 15 weeks  I guess it is just going to stop me feeling the jabs etc up in my ribs this time around  (I had a posterior placenta last time)

My placenta is high anterior :) I get the odd tickle around my belly button, or did.. I've not had that in a while, but I do get strong movements lower down & to the sides. It's so weird because I went to a baby event last weekend & they let us listen to baby's heartbeat.. We heard him kicking me higher up, but I couldn't feel a thing! :haha:

That is the thing I thought baby was all down the bottom but at my scan yesterday nope head is up the top but I feel nothing up there just down the bottom where she is kicking me - so odd as she was moving about around the top and I felt nothing at all

She is kicking me nicely in the bladder at the moment tho :cloud9:

Most of the movements I've been getting are higher up (towards my belly button) so I suspect my placenta is low.
I still only feel him when I'm lying still in the evenings, looking forward to feeling him throughout the day later on!

At 25 weeks my AP twin is now kicking hard enough to be felt from the outside.

I can feel kicks on the outside down low but not a thing up top

So confirmed AP lol still not really feeling much at just over 20 weeks feel her rolling about just not much kicks or jabs yet hoping they get stronger :) x

I can feel baby on the outside but Dh still can't :( I'm still impatiently waiting...lol
