I'd say it is, although I haven't held a real life one in my hands! Well worth 2.99 and as the 'elf rules' include not touching it, you don't really have to worry about it not being the real thing?

Our elf on the shelf (from china) arrived this morning, it doesn't look bad and the quality is okay though I wouldn't let lo play with it just in-case.

Ours arrived this morning too. I'm very impressed with it. Can't see it looks any different to the expensive ones
