November '10 buddies thread

Hey everyone

Found this thread from the one posted in first tri, hope you don't mind me joining.

Had an early scan a few weeks ago and bubs was measuring 7+2 giving me an EDD of 25th November. Will try and post a pic if I can work out how to get the scanner working!

Anna, up until last summer I lived in Romsey for 16 years, now living in Eastleigh so not far from you!

Hi there! Of course you can join :) When is your next scan? I had an early scan at 9+1 and my next one is 13th May - week this Thursday....to say I'm getting impatient would be an understatement! :haha:

Hi ladies! Just got back from my first appointment. They took 5 vials of blood!! We also set up our first ultrasound for next Friday, May 14th. I'm so excited! lol

Hey, glad it went well, and not long til your scan! :happydance:
I finally got my booking appt bloods today-all ok. Everyone kept telling me 'no news is good news' but I was still worrying about it. I haven't been exposed to Toxoplasmosis so will have to still take precautions with lambs and placenta.
6 days til my scan, alternating between being excited and terrified :dohh:
How was everyone's day?

Glad things are ok :)

My hubby keeps telling me not to worry over any results, but can't help it lol

Good luck on your scan. Hope it goes well :)

Glad your results are back ok Liz. I don't get my bloods done until my scan, which is fine because I doubt there will be anything wrong but it does annoy me because say I was anemic, I wouldn't find out til 12+ weeks!!

6 days til your scan..I'm very jealous! Mines a week tomorrow x

Why do you have to wait til your scan, if I may ask? Is it just how they do things or...?

Dating scans here are done between 11 weeks and 13+6 weeks (where I live). So mine came through as May 13th, so I should be 12+2,based on my previous scan. I only had that because I was having pains - normally your first scan is your dating scan. The next scan we get is the anomoly scan at 20-22 weeks.

What about you?????

Wow...here it really depends on your doctor and your insurance. My hubby is in the Army and I have a new insurance. Military doctors and insurance companies don't like doing too many ultrasounds or scans or whatever, but I'm lucky in the fact that I have a civilian doctor. I have an ultrasound next friday...after that I'm not sure what'll come next. I just know that I was lucky enough to get anything this early since I'm only 10 weeks.

Soon I hope! My referal letter somehow got lost or something cos i havn't seen a midwife yet and when I chased it up they said they hadn't recieved anything. Spoke to an on-call midwife last week and she said she'd get me booked in for scan right away, still not heard anything though.

According to docs etc I'm going to be 13 weeks at the weekend (by LMP) so hopefully they'll find something for me next week. Need to chase them up again tomorrow.

Isn't it funny how medical care varies depending on where you live?? As much as I complain about the NHS (our healthcare system) I do think we're very lucky because it is 'free' - well, we pay for it from our taxes but basically it means anyone can get any healthcare which I think is great.

This time next week I'll have had my scan...I'm soooo impatient!!

Bambi - I'm not sure if your hospital offers if but if you wanted an NT test to assess the 'risk' of Down's Syndrome (measuring the fluid at the back of the babys neck during an ultrasound scan) you need to have it before 13+6 days, so they should really hurry up with your scan!!! Can you ring the antenatal dept direct? xxx

It is kind of funny. I guess I'm a lucky one with the coverage I get from being a military wife, plus where my husband is stationed. I don't have to worry about our prenatal/postnatal care since it is fully covered.

I can't wait to hear how it goes for you. It's so exciting lol.

Hi girls - have you all had good weekends?

I wasn't too good on Friday night because for some reason, I fainted Friday afternoon & didn't feel right after it....I was ok once I'd had an early night but I don't want to feel like that again, it was horrible. Although, my scan & blood tests are on Thursday so I know I'll be fainting again then..........there's no way I can make it through all those vials of blood they take without passing out, LOL! I'll tell them I'm a fainter and ask to lie down

Saturday and today we've had really nice days, took Emma to the farm this morning which she loved and went to OHs parents for the rest of the day which is nice.

I'm really tired now - only 7:30pm LOL! So going to get a bath, watch some TV and have an early one again!

Night x

Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK pinklizzy for your scan tomorrow - VERY jealous! :cloud9:

Let us know how it goes and post a scan pic if you can :) :)

Thanks Sam! I'm trying to keep calm, knitting to distract myself! I'll def try and post a scan pic-I can't wait to actually have a picture of the little shrimp :cloud9:
Hope you get an early night and feel better. I'm ok with bloods (used to taking it I suppose) but still can't watch the needle go in. :dohh:

I'm totally on :cloud9:! The scan was amazing, even better that OH has now seen our little one too! I've been dated as being 13 weeks now and due date is 16th November. Bubs was upside down for whole scan so they turned the photos up the other way for us!

Gorgeous picture :cloud9:

Thanks guys! I thought I was 12+4 today so only a few days ahead. Just been out for a lovely celebratory lunch with my mum, still can't stop smiling!

Awww, my OH has taken the day off on Thursday so we'll be doing the same hopefully - scan is at 8:55am so we'll go to that then might go for a carvery for lunch to celebrate then to tell his Nana - I want to tell immediate family ASAP then I can write about it on facebook.....I've nearly let slip so many times!!

Talking of facebook, if anyone wants to add me I'm at facebook.com/samandemma :)

Hey gals, I just thought I'd say 'hi'.....I'm due to have a scan next Friday. I'm excited, but it seems ages away!!! :happydance:

How is everyone feeling, I can't stop eating but it's to stop me from feeling sick.
