~~~November Sparklers 2010 mummies and daddies thread ~~~~
I've always used avent bottles and only ever have a problem when he takes his feed really fast as we have to use number 3 tests due to the comfort milk being sooo thick and sometimes it comes out too fast (usually his morning feed when he's slept for a solid 10 hours and he's HUNGRY! ;)
I use Avent bottles too for EBM and have found them great, doesnt make her extra windy or anything :)
Avent are what I've been using and he clearly doesnt get on with them. Guess every baby is different though! I persevered with them up til now but I cant see my little boy in pain any longer. The Dr Brown bottles have definitely made a massive difference.
im finding libby much easier to get wind up now and she is starting to get it up herself sometimes :) i didnt get on with dr browns they leak for me... libby sucks with her tongue like she is trying to stimulate the breast.. this is why she drops her dummy all the time too.. tt bottles are better for this but im wondering if we should change so she learns to suck differently as tt are like breast and she is trying to latch lol
libby slept from 8 - 11.30 then 12.30-4.30 then 5-7! i need to knock these night feeds on the head im thinking of going to 3 hrly feeding to "tank her up" as baby whisperer suggests, she cant stay awake v long after feeds so 3 hrly routine would suit her better thru day.... pichi what are ur thought, u r baby whisperer specialist x
Alot of bottles will leak if you do them up too tight :) That may have been the problem x
I started with Avent, but the few times I bottlefed Evan when he was teeny the flow was too fast even on number 1 teat, TT were much better for him. When I first git the Dr Browns it leaked, lost an ounce of milk, but I seem to have worked out how to not get it to leak!
If you are on my fb you will know me and Evan had a fab night. He had a real shitty day. ?In the end I plonked his sicky covered body in the bath, then did some baby massge with him that I learnt last week, read him the story and he slept. He did wake twice in the first hour (once cos he was still hungry, then he had a bit of wind) By 10.30 he was out for the count!!
I woke him up at 2.30 :dohh: Cos he'd wriggled into the middle of the bed soi I couldn't comfortably lay in it without the fear og getting too close to him :D He had some food then slept till 6ish I think :)
And tonight REPEAT :)
Morning ladies!
Been up since 6.30 am, done all my house work and now I'm bored! Erin was really unsettled after her night feed at 2am and wouldn't sleep for more than 20 mins at a time-I eventually gave in and got up and she promptly fell asleep! :dohh: She has slept through a feed now but she's so tired I've left her.
Got to go to the dentist later :nope: Don't think I need anything done but I still hate going. Last time I went I was pregnant so I couldn't have anything done anyway.
We love the Dr Browns bottles too, Erin was so much better once we swapped to these. We've got better at stopping the leaking now as well!
lol! not quite :haha:
if Libby is happier and 'works' better on a 3 hour i'd go for it :thumbup: i think for our babies ages they're meant to be on a 3h - Pixie is just a strange child lol.
i was in fits of laughter last night with her - chatting away to her daddy, farting and then going 'ahhhh' looking straight at her dad.
as for bottles - we use TT bottles with a vari-flows :)
We too use the TT closer to nature bottles, I tried the variable flow teats on her and she got drowned in milk and choked...I think where she combine feeds and has to suck quite hard on the breast she couldn't get the hang of them... :haha:
My Jumperoo has just arrived...I was naughty, money is a bit tight this month, so I ordered from my catalogue instead on a Buy it now pay later thing, they only did the rainforest one...
Yay Evan.....hopefully a consistent routine will get him sleeping better for you, worked like a charm for me....she instantly gets sleepy during her after bath feed and then falls asleep during story time. She now knows bath means bedtime shortly!!! Babies are creatures of habit and they def like routine!!! x
I use the Dr. Browns bottles as well. But that choice was made for me by my SIL. She used them for my nephew, and gave them to me, as he was done with them. Cant complain about free bottles. They work great for Jaxon, he hardly ever needs to be burped and has only spit up 3 times.
Jaxon was chatty last night...so fun to watch him chat, and smile away.
I was rocking Jaxon to sleep last night after his bottle and just looking at him. I teared up b/c I am just so happy he's my little guy. I just felt this overwhelming feeling of Love for him. OH laughed at me, b/c I was crying.
aw Bartness i get like that sometimes too xo
PS - Whats ur actual name so i dont have to call u Bartness lol....i dont think i have u on FB do i??
ShanandBoc, my name is Danielle and Bartness is my last name. I'm the only one on facebook with that name if you want to add me.
Our bedtime routine is pj's on Leo at 7, he has a play then feeds from 8.30 until 9 or 9.30 in his grobag n bed. Sleeps until 6 earliest 8 latest for last 2-3 weeks.
For bathtime he has a reclining seat, 15 in toysrus is really good as you don't need to hold him at all.
Well today I have fetched the jumperoo from toysrus and a bumbo. saw asda one but wanted the tray to use as travel highchair and wasn't sure if they did one.
Can't believe some babies coming up to 3months is scarey.
Shan, I'll confirm the friend request after work, as Im unable to access facebook at work.
I need some Dr. Brown bottles as I am 100% sure that Madelyn suffers from reflux. Now if only the stupid doctor would put her on medicine! :|
But I am poor, and my OH doesn't understand a thing. Maybe I can get someone that has some they dont use anymore .. idk.
My baby boy is stubborn!! haha Ive tried avent, generic playtex, drop in playtex nursers, dr brown, and a few other kinds all which he wouldn't take =( but now we use NUK =) its the same nipple as his Binky and it doesn't conflict with me bfing still =)
Another Danielle here Bartness :haha:
My lounge has been overtaken completely by this Jumperoo :wacko:
Silly question, but are their feet meant to reach the floor? It is on the lowest setting and it looks really high still?
