PCOS and TTC #1

Hey ladies.. thanks..

Sorry for the absence this weekend... we were doing tons and tons of yard work since it was actually nice out.

Sorry about the BFN Very.

Jules.. yes I have noticed my cycles are on point. I ovulated on CD19-20 and I got my period exactly 14 days after. Which i guess is a positive.

OMG i want another puppy so bad!!! I almost had my hubby convinced but then he backed out saying lets focus on a human baby first and then we can get another.... he is such a bummer sometimes.

Thanks ladies for the puppy compliments. He's been a wonderful addition to our home. I was so lonely before we adopted him. He's a huge reason why I'm so happy most of the time.

I'm glad the vitex is working to regulate your cycles. it lengthened my LP. I'm on CD 3 and my period is already done! I'm pretty sure the vitex also did that :). It was only medium for those two days, which is weird. I normally have at least one day of heavy flow. I'm crossing my fingers for us all, too.

Ugh im CD 5 and CD 3 and 4 i was pretty certain i was bleeding out. It was brutal. Which i dont normally have.

Oh goodness! Maybe the next period (hopefully there is no next period for 9 months ;)) will be lighter. Mine have been getting less painful, shorter, and lighter each month.

Well, AF is ending today... excited to start a new trying cycle!!! Very you with me?! What day do you normally Ovulate?

I'm with you girl. I ovulate between CD 15-18. So it should happen between May 2nd-5th! :)

How bout you?

Despite the bfn's, it seems that you have both had some improvement with your cycles. I have a good feeling for you two this month!! :)

Nothing new for me still. I am getting impatient waiting for af so I can start the fertility meds already! Currently I am on CD21. This is my first full month on Metformin so I am praying that I get af naturally before the 30th so I can do the hsg and be able to take the femara before I go on vacation on the 7th of May. If not I have to do a cycle without the hsg and see how things go with just the femara.

Also, the doctor said that the femara could possibly thicken my cm, which is why they suggest iui to go along with it. The $450, which is something we would have to save up for so we are going to try a few cycles without it before we go in that direction so we can save up. Is there anything anyone can suggest that I can use/take to help thin out cm in that case?

Hey girls, sorry for the BFN :(
At least the O is always couple weeks away, that's what I tell myself.

Just jumped in to say that drinking fresh Grapefruit juice (although you should check if it's okay with Femara) and taking Primerose Oil Supplements is great for CM Jules. You can also use a sperm friendly lube like PreSeed. GL!

The heavy bleeding sounds miserable, sorry shortcakes! I was like that as a teenager which I think was the first sign of PCOS. But hopefully for you, its a sign that things are adjusting in the right direction!

I had my appointment with the urologist and he said that my bladder is normal and healthy but that I have a "huge" stone in my right kidney. That's what is likely causing all of the infections because bacteria can live on the surface of the stone. This is actually great news for me because I finally have something that we can work on and the husband and I have been afraid that it was just our chemistry and that I would always have the infections. It definitely helped kill the intimacy on more than one occasion. :-/ So I just need to get an x-ray so that he can determine what kind of stone it is so that he can decide on treatment options. It's too big to pass obviously.

Jules, I hope it does come naturally before the 30th. Have you done an hsg before? My advice, ask for a muscle relaxant or a pain killer that you can take the morning of the hsg. Some women do fine and don't experience pain but I had a full on contraction, it was unreal. I wasn't prepared for it. My doc told me at the appointment prior to the hsg to take 4 ibuprofen the morning before I came in for the procedure. Then the day of she asked if I had taken a Percocet. I'm like "no, I just took ibuprofen." She said "oh I should've prescribed something stronger, but you'll be fine." Lol! So, anyway, not trying to scare you but just help you be prepared. And like I said there's women that go in and feel barely a thing, and it only takes a few minutes. GL! Also hopefully it doesn't come down to iui and spending the extra $450, but at least you know it's an option at some point as a safety net.

Hi Danna! How are you doing? Thanks for that tip about the cm. I'll have to juice some grapefruits next week leading up to o. I know the tea/prenatals I'm on have primrose, along with other herbs so I'm glad for that!

Babysquash, I'm so glad to hear that docs found what's wrong. I hope they find an easy solution to getting that kidney stone out without too much discomfort to you!

Danna- Thanks! I will ask her about that stuff to see if she recommends it.

babysquash- That doesn't sound like fun, but I am glad they found out the cause. Hopefully you can get it taken care of soon and it doesn't cause too much pain.

blueapple- No, I haven't done it before. I have heard some horror stories so I am hoping it isn't too bad! When I schedule it I will see what I can do to prevent the pain just in case.

Question for you ladies who have taken Vitex.....do you remember feeling really emotional when you first started taking it? It might be my hormones adjusting but I feel grumpy, stressed, emotional, the smallest things set me off. And last night I didn't sleep well at all and things that normally don't bother me (like our cats climbing all over me in bed) just sent me over the edge last night/this morning. I guess I'm just hoping that this is normal because it's insane and I feel bad for my poor husband and my lovely kitties right now lol.

Oh my gosh, have I ever been in your shoes babysquash. It's definitely hormones balancing out. I felt horrible for how I behaved at times. I think we're allowed once in a while, but I was over the top on an almost daily basis! Hang in there! :hugs:

You are definitely not insane! Every medication that I have taken that balances hormones made me feel like that. It felt like I was 15 and my hormones were going crazy! lol My poor hubby got the brunt of it and gets super scared when I start new medications.:haha: It will go away once your body gets used to it though, so just hang in there. :)

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one! The same thing happens with BCP so I know it's hormone related but I thought Vitex would be more subtle for some reason. At least it means it's working! :winkwink:

OMG babysquash.... the last month i literally cried about everything! You are definitely not alone!

Hi there Shortcakes :hi:
