PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

Hi I'm J!

Hi!

So I have PCOS and after MUCH delay I decided to try Vitrex.

Well let me say that the doctor TOLD me that I have PCOS. She never really did any testing just said because I was overweight and my period were slightly irregular that I have it.

So 6/2015, my doctor prescribed Provera to start my period. (For the first time EVER I went 45 days with no period!) She also gave me Metformin. I took it for about 2-3 days but it made me have the runs!

So my DH and I got pregnant by surprise 7/2015.

However, I had the baby 12/14/2015 and he passed away. (IC or PPROM, but regular OB thinks it might have just been an infection)

Since having the baby, I've had normal 28 day cycles (literally like clockwork). I started talking Vitrex the week I was ovulating (that's just when it came from Amazon)

Question: Has anyone had success with Vitrex? I mean I've been taking it for about 2 weeks now and nothing besides it makes me sick in the morning.

If you are, does it help with the other PCOS symptoms? The only one I seem to have is an occasional facial hair or two.

You ladies are amazing! Reading your stories helps me know I'm not alone.! PCOS can be so frustrating! Somedays I just want to pull my hair out! I have been reading this thread for awhile and I'm happy to finally join in!

Welcome Jo. I can't answer your question but hopefully one of the other ladies can.

Dd is a vitex baby. I honestly didn't take it long enough to notice much. It ended a super long cycle (100+ days) and I conceived the next cycle ovulating cd20. I continued taking it through 12 weeks then slowly weaned. If your cycles are regular don't take it. It can really mess them up.

Honestly I think my doctors just put stuff on the chart cause I wanted to look into it. It took getting an ultra sound a few times, and noting that my testosterone was elevated that I truly believed them -- Minus the non-existing period.

I've honestly don't know anything about vitex. I use Provera and Letrozol.

Hi J,

Im sorry for ur loss, thats really frustrating. Did you have ur anatomy scan and they didnt notice IC?

Since your doc didnt test and just called it PCOS, i would be careful with what i take. When i was searching supplements to take, i read lots about Vitex. Vitex actually works with ppl that have high prolaction. In my case, my LH was elevated so Vitex was a no-no for me. How if you have high LH and taking vitex can make things worse for u, so I suggest u try other supplements that you know for sure wont do damage.

If your cycles are back to 28days, then just focus on losing weight and nourish ur reproductive system.
You can try Inositol and Royal Jelly.

I think golden had a great suggestion of trying myo-inositol and royal jelly. Do you temp or take opks? That would help you know if you are ovulating. From the sounds of it you probably are.

Girls ... I've been having a whole slew of symptoms .... and I'm gonna test tomorrow... It's a little early -- Doctor told me Friday, Best so I don't tell anyone anything is Sunday, but my app says I should test tomorrow.
And I'm being antsy and i buy cheapos so I won't feel bad if I have to go buy 20 more.

Yay a test!! :test:

I would have peed on like 5 by now! :haha: But I have no self control.

Kmfx for your bfp tomorrow.

I'm going to be a third who says inositol! I've been on it a couple months now and it's helped so much!! I know you have regular cycles naturally now, but inositol has helped me have 4 regular cycles now. Or maybe 3...regardless it's really helping. I'm losing weight too, but I'm also on a low carb diet.

Ah, well ... I only bought 3 this time ... They didn't have that many on the shelf to begin with (I hate that those others only have 2 in there for the ridiculous prices) [i'm not an online shopper -- i window shop online but rather buy it from a store]

I've just been having so many weird things happen. Like today. I had a horrible taste in my mouth. I forgot to put a water in the fridge, so I pulled one of the soda cans. I drank like 2 sips and I was done with it. I drank a little 6oz cup and immediately needed to pee... and an hour later, again, and again ... Omg I never peed that much at work before! And the bathroom is SO far away I had to hold in a few urges cause I was creating a pattern.
Those two things alone had my curiosity peaked!
Let alone the bloated (puffy belly -- fat) feeling....
A little worried no CM though (most people post that they have in increase...)

Any whos ... I'm totally testing! I can't wait any longer! I want a result.
Plus I have two more, so 1 for Friday, and 1 for Sunday!!!! It's PERFECT! *rubs hands together* ... now to not let hubby know I'm testing before when I told him! ... :haha:

Morning Ladies!
Just letting you all know ... I got a BFN.
But I don't feel bad about it -- I know I'm early to test, so I have no doubt it's right.
Taking one tomorrow and one Sunday!!!

Ahh what a bummer Star. How many dpo are you?

Afm, af should be here today. My temp dived and I am super crampy.

AF started yesterday. Was light, but today it's kicking my ass. If I didn't need my uterus for another 1/2 children I'd cut it out myself. I never really had cramps until I had DD. Thanks for that kid. Kind of feel like the after labor pains I'd get every time she nursed. Those sucked. These suck. Periods such. Meh lol

Hoping to stay on track with my diet this cycle and bring O forward. Hoping the spearmint and dropping the b complex help too. Time will tell.

4 cycles on inositol 36 days, 32 days, 32 days and 36 days. I think this last one was so long because I fell off my diet. The two 32 day cycles I was really good about it. Going to try to be again!

Eh, I wish I would have come up with a squinter, but it was like ... "you gotta be joking" negative ...
Honestly I'm not sure. I know what day I had my ewcm, and cramping that I had before that quit that day as well. So I wanna say the day after my ewcm was the day I would have o'd. (making today: 12 not counting that day)
The doctor confirmed I did, with that high progesterone test. That test was the 23rd)

Tomorrow is the day the doc said to test, so I might see a result that day... and Sunday my suspected af is to show her face.

And to be honest I feel I haven't felt them all too much lately. Just odd things here and there.
I've never experienced much around af time. My usual sign was brown spotting before she showed up, maybe a few cramps ...

idk girls... I'm holding on for a BFP but truthfully if af shows up I at least know that my body knows what it's supposed to do on it's own!

Kylas- you take spearmint in pill form right? How much do you take a day?

What do you think the best complex was doing to your cycle? Pushing o out? I take one because I feel so good on it, but don't want o to take forever either.

Star- that's a great way to look at it. Either way is progress. Still hoping for your bfp though.

OH I still Really want a BFP, but I'm trying to stay optimistic in case I get AF.

I haven't had a "natural" period in SO long I think it would be nice! (i'm sounding like a crazy person :haha: ) and then i'm curious if I'd need my letrozol ?! .... So many questions about this whole thing!!!

Yes it's a capsule. I take 2 400mg a day. In the morning and with dinner. Bottle recommends twice a day.

I'm wondering if the b complex is delaying o. I'm still taking folate and b-12 just not the b complex anymore. I'm going to see if it helps bring O forward any. I don't feel any different not having taken it so we will see. They've been known to delay O so doing my own experiment to see.

Hey ladies.. just dropping by to update whats going on with me. Finally saw the fertility specialist! I feel great. I am currently CD 24..she wants me to wait till cd 35 then will do a blood test to see if I ovulated.. If I didnt she will give me meds to start my period (im sure you all know what it is but ive forgotten the name lol) then I will get blood tests to test for anything genetically I may carry that causes the miscarriages. I will also get a test where they put saline in the uterus and do an Xray. She said then she can give me a perscription for Femera.. I asked her about Chlomid but she said she doesnt really like it :S Im excited to get this ball rolling after 19 months!!

I know I'm new here!

My period came this morning 1:nope:

Can any of you lady tell me how you deal with AF coming when your TTC?
At first I was nonchalant about it, but now when it comes I get super emotional (crying, sad, etc.) and I feel like there has to be a better coping method.

Any advice?
