PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

Sophmm I love yogurt and feta cheese but I couldn't find replacement for those, I use coconut milk if I'm baking and that's about it.

Coffee cream s okey since fat content is really high n butter too.

 aw man, I love yoghurt and cheese too! I will have a look for the coconut milk.

ahhh yogurt was huge part of my diet because i dont like meat and greek yogurt was great for me to get protein. I would eat it every meal! especially with hemp seed, protein bomb!!!
I heard A1 Casein is in cows only and in US/Canada. Maybe we can try dairy products made with goat milk? or cow milk from Europe or Asia? Im gonna have to search this.

Oooo maybe we should look into it just incase we can have it in some form!! I used to have Greek yoghurt for my breakfast and I'm missing it already!

Well i searched a bit, milk from jersey cow is A2 which is okey for us. Apparently some dairy products are made with A2 milk, im gonna have to spend some time at grocery store, reading labels.

If i can find the A2 milk, i can make my own yogurt. Also some ppl say that u can make yogurt from coconut milk too.

I think Goats milk is okay too from looking quickly. You're good - I wouldn't even know where to begin making yogurt! I'm going to read up properly in work tomorrow!

So simple!

1. Boil the milk
2. Let it cool down
3. Put one spoon of yogurt in it and stir
4. Close the lid and wrap it with towel so its nice and cozy
5. Open the next day and voilaaaaaaa!

Haha.. yea I use a Greek yogurt maker I got at Christmas for ds. He loves yogurt but I wanted to control what was in it.

Coconut is actually naturally fatty so you should be good as long as you get regular and not reduced fat.

Can I join in ladies? I'm TTC/NTNP #2 with my new partner and got a diagnosis of PCOS a week ago. CD124 now with no bfp or af in sight. Dr has told me to lose weight and come back after 12 months :nope:

Started the couch to 5k programme for exercise. Changed my diet from white to wholemeal carbs, more fruit & veg, less dairy, smaller and more frequent meals.
Taking Wellwoman plus vitamins everyday.
Also bought a basal thermometer to start using once AF finally arrives to keep better track of my cycles as the ovulation tests keep showing as positive every few weeks with no ovulation.

Still feeling gutted as the chance of being infertile so need some support. All my family keep saying is 'at least you have DD' and that I should be grateful (I am obviously, but I am grieving the fact I may never have another baby).

Any tips or advice welcomed! I have bought lots of books (Colette Harris' seem very good).

Moving in with partner in 3 months so hopefully changing doctors will get me some more support.

Thanks for reading x

Betty glad u joined us.

Some doctors are so annoying, why couldn't he give u metformin to help you with weight loss and regulating af?! You should change ur Doctor, 12 months waiting is ridiculous.

Meanwhile you can take inositol, which works like metformin. Also vitex can regulate ur af. If you got 12 months without doctors help, mine as well try natural supplements Hun.

Here are the supplements that pcos ladies take
Inositol
Vitex
Black cohosh
Royal jelly
Cinnamon

Weight loss will be slow but don't give up, try to cut refined sugar completely.

Welcome Betty. I'd switch doctors...12 months is a little much without giving you metformin or anything to try. Golden filled you in on the supplements that you can try. I currently am an inositol and not metformin. There is both myo inositol and d chiro inositol, I recommend doing some reading on them as both can help. Glad you joined. Hopefully you can find the formula that works for ou. Ovulation tests also do not work for me. I get random positives throughout the month with no ovulation either.

Hi Betty :flower:

How annoying they have just sent you on your way. Definitely see a different doctor and hopefully they can give you more of an insight.

Sounds like you have looked into it a lot!

I understand where you are coming from with people saying at least you have 1 little one - I am getting this too. Like you I am so grateful for DD but still long for a LO with my new partner! I was quite down when i first got diagnosed but I have started thinking positively and making the changes to help!

I hope you are feeling a little better. :hugs:

Im so random but so happy today lol for the first time in like 6 months I have signs of Ovulation!!!!!!!!!!! CP was very high, extremly soft and very open.i checked because I had wonderful EWCM which never happens! It seems a bit late though thats the only thing that bothers me a bit. I first noticed yesterday (CD 20) and today its still CP is still the same just more soft! (CD 21).. We did BD yesterday and will again today.. When do you guys ovulate?? My cycles are always 35 days and over?

When I ovulate on my own it varies quite a bit but tends to be after cd 25.

Cd 20 ovulation would be about right for a 35 day cycle.

I ovulate CD14-15 and get af CD28-30

Ovulation around CD20 is okey if your cycles are 35days. Only problem with late ovulation is that egg can be older and less quality. But after CD22 is considered to be late, so u are good!

I HOPE this is actually it! I even have pinching in my ovary which I havent felt for so long! I have no ovulation tests and didnt temp this month because the stress got to me and now im upset I havent.

Thats okey, as long as u got ewcm and ovulation pain u dont need opks or temping. Keep Bding until u see creamy cm. Btw when are u gving blood? isnt ur appointment on 19th too?
