I have one on the 18th and just found out this week I have a follow up with the endo on June 7th.

No this is my second, first was when we did blood tests to confirm PCOS.

Same with me! thats crazy how our days are same:happydance: maybe we will be bump buddies. I hope doctor wont change his mind about giving me clomid.

I hav been trying to understand pcos and didnt quite understand it fully util i read this, really simple way of explaining it:coffee:

At the start of a cycle many eggs respond to the messages being sent from the brain (i.e. FSH). Whereas normally a number of follicles would start developing but most die, leaving only one to grow to maturity, in PCOS many follicles continue to grow but do not develop to full maturity. After growing to an intermediate stage of development they stop: but they do produce estrogen, and the rising estrogen levels make the brain think that a follicle is ready to release. But there is no mature follicle ready to release an egg. The reason the estrogen levels are high is because there are many follicles making estrogen, and hence the brain "thinks" that a follicle is ready. The brain therefore causes the release of LH – but, because there is no mature follicle, no egg is released. However, the LH stimulates the ovarian tissue to release more androgens (the male hormone), which further upsets the balance and can result in excessive hair growth and acne. This situation continues, and the estrogen levels remain high, no follicles mature, no eggs are released, and the male hormone levels remain high. The high estrogen levels stimulate the endometrium to grow, and it gets thicker and thicker until, eventually, it outgrows its blood supply and breaks down and is lost. Such a menstrual bleed is not a well orchestrated one, and can be irregular and heavy.

On ultrasound these ovaries have numerous small follicles – hence the name Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. These small follicles are typically just beneath the surface of the ovary – and on ultrasound appear like a "ring of pearls". Blood tests show higher than normal levels of estrogen and high levels of LH.

i know! my endo changes his mind all the time so hard to predict but im gonna insist if he doesnt give me clomid. im gonna throw myself on the ground and scream until i get that prescription :happydance:

thats basically my plan lol anxious to see how it goes considering last time he told me they rarely use Chlomid and metformin was enough.. :/

Wow.. I went into my doctor expecting some resistance and he was like oh okay have 3 months of clomid and see me if it doesn't work. :haha:

I did have a history though and took clomid to conceive ds. (Although with a different doctor in a different area.)

When I first got clomid I had a hell of a time and switched doctors a couple times before getting one who helped.

Mine said the same, he said use metformin for 3 months and call me if u get pregnant:shrug:

But this i moved up to 2000mg, my acne cleared p and i had ewcm, strong ovulation pain and one day opk this cycle so im really hopeful this time:blush: Unless my tubes are blocked:wacko:

Which days are u taking clomid? did u start?

I just saw this

If your LH is elevated, the best herbal treatment is Peony & Licorice combination. If your prolactin is high-normal, then the best herbal treatment is Vitex (also called chaste tree or chaste berry). Do not use Vitex if your LH is elevated. Vitex stimulates LH so it will make things worse. Indeed, many of my PCOS patients report feeling worse on Vitex.

I guess, dont use vitex without checking prolactin?

I was suppose to start last Friday. But due to my DH losing hours at work we are delaying it. He suspects they will be back before July so I am thinking we will start next cycle or the very latest the July cycle.

I take it CD 2-6. I have no idea what the reasoning is for this but it works for me. Both times I have taken it those days I got pregnant.

When u took CD2-6, when did u ovulate?

I am not for sure the first cycle when I conceived DS. I got my positive opk CD 15 so either CD 15 or 16. With my chemical in Feb I got my positive opk on CD 16 and ovulated later that day.

I wanna try Cd2-6 as well, i heard it increases the chances of conceiving twins.

Yes, the earlier you take it in your cycle the more likely you are to release multiple eggs.

DS was obviously a singleton and with my chemical I have no idea.

Ohhh interesting!!! I really think ill try Vitex.. before I found out that I had PCOS i tested with slightly high Prolactin, 47 was my number so not too high, but then I got pregnant and had a miscarriage unforuntatly and I really think it was because of my hormones...
