Mod I love my doppler! I borrowed mine from a friend but just ordered myself one as I'm giving hers back tomorrow. She is about 30 weeks and had a gush of fluid a few days ago, the dr didn't concerned but she wants to hear the heartbeat of course and said I can hang on to it but I think she should have it back, it is hers after all!
My appt is tomorrow with the Ob. Just a routine one but hoping to get my 20wk scan on the books! Mcwhmm, how was your appt?

Dini you have had such success with your Doppler! I just don't think I would be able to find the heartbeat due to my size.

Dini, my appointment went good! Only gained 3 pounds when I was thinking probably about 10 lol and the nurse found the heartbeat right away which was 150. I also think that yesterday I really started feeling the baby, not like kicks or anything, but I can feel what side the baby is on when he/she is moving. 
I can't wait to feel my first hard, strong kick! My next appointment is Nov 18th for a scan and routine bloodwork ( even tho I have my gender scan next Thursday )
Bselck- we weigh the exact same from what I read in one of your previous posts and I have had no trouble finding the heartbeat, especially now!

Bselck, I'm actually bigger than you and I'm short so my abdomen is pretty large I think. I'm about 202lbs and a size 18ish in US sizes and I really haven't had much trouble. My belly is pretty fluffy lol and it doesn't seem to make a big difference.
Mcwhmm, so glad yor appt went well!! Is your gender scan scheduled at your OBs or is it a private scan?
I'm at my appt waiting now to be seen and hopimg to get mine scheduled but I know I won't get one until the end of November so we will probably schedule a private one. I'm kinda iffy about that though as they aren't regulated but I think the place I would go is run by a long time certified ultrasound tech. I just don't want to wait till after thanksgiving, I really want to announce then.

Mines fluffy too! I'm tall (5'6") but I have a short torso which I think is why I show so fast too!

I wanted to know the gender before we go to the mall of America on the 14th and I knew my 20wk scan wouldn't be until after then.. Turns out it's just a few days after though! Lol I won't be 20 weeks yet, just about 19 weeks.
Also ladies, I'm telling my mom tomorrow! We are having a girls night and going out to eat and to a country concert so I have been holding off on telling! I'm nervous lol! I am waiting to tell everybody else until after our gender scan although I have already had a couple people ask me and I say "no what are you talking about lol"

Thanks ladies I may need to try it out then! That is so great your appt went well!! So proud of us for not gaining a lot of weight and trying to be as healthy as we can for our babies!!
Oh and I can't wait to start feeling the baby! Even it's just movement like u were saying!

I can't believe you've held out telling people close to you this long!! We haven't announced on fb or told a lot of DH's extended family but I've certainly told people at work and a few extra family members.
Your private scan is so close! I am going to try to schedule ours the week before thanksgiving if DH and I have a day off that I can get an appt. I really want to do a gender reveal at Thanksgiving. I couldn't even schedule my 20 week scan yesterday, the scheduler got confused with what the MW wrote and since I was at work I just didn't have time to argue so she said I could schedule it when I come back in 4 weeks. Well, I'll be 18w3d then, so I hope they can get me in soon after! Probably won't be until December.

Hi ladies just popping in to say hi as I won't be on over the weekend.
So happy everyone's appointments went well! Every appt is one step closer which makes it so much more exciting!

Both my sisters left her out of it and I think its something she would really like to be a part of. Plus, she's hinted on getting us a travel system while she's here. Dini- hopefully they can get you in soon after that for your 20 week scan! I would schedule a private scan soon if that's what you're going to do! I know the place here fills up very quickly and they reccomend calling to schedule 2 weeks in advanced, especially if you need a specific time and day! at my private scan I'll be 16w1d and then at my "20 week scan" I'll be 1 day shy of 19 weeks. Also at my next appointment they are doing blood work for down syndrome and other things. It's an optional thing and they said with my age it's not highly likely and I know it wouldn't change our love for our child either way, just something I did with my daughter and am going to do this time too. Just to get a heads up if that is the case! Especially since they don't do 12 weeks scans here unless high risk or over a certain age.
I'm thinking I'm just going to show my mom my ultrasound pictures from my 11 week scan. She will be sooo shocked. I'm terrible at keeping secrets and she won't believe that I hid it this long! Lol and my dad and step mom I plan on telling on Halloween since I take DD trick or treating in their neighborhood (the neighborhood I grw up in) and by then I will know the gender. I'm thinking about saying, "kinley is also something else for Halloween" "a big sister". And showing them the scan. my step mom already knows basically lol she has asked me a few times for different reasons but I have been good at talking around it and I didn't want to tell my step mom before my mom!
Mod- have a great time with your mom! I think registering for things would he a fun thing to do! I did that with my mom when I was pregnant with DD. Even though it's early, you can still register, non-gender specific things!
I think after our scan either next week or the one after that, I'm going to start stocking up on diapers and some other necessaties so that we have a nice stock pile! We haven't decided if we are going to have a baby shower. I almost didn't do one with DD because I bought literally everything I wanted lol! My mom insisted though, so I likely will with this one too!

Afm, massage was lovely. The place was run down and in a bad neighborhood but the lady was nice and she did a good job. I feel better today.
DH came home in a much better mood tonight. Didn't get a whole lot of talking in but the evening was pleasant and he showed me some goldfish crackers he bought at the store yesterday and said they were for me, they are "baby" goldfish lol. That was pretty sweet. He said he only bought them for that reason. It made me feel good to hear him say that.

Dini, glad your massage was great and thats so cute about the baby goldfish! lol
So funny story.. I didn't end up telling my mom! I forgot the ultrasound pictures while I was rushing to get ready and I didn't want to tell her without showing the pictures and then I decided that I want to tell my mom and dad on the same day, so planning on Friday (Halloween) lol.. we also find out the gender on Thursday so we will be able to tell them. They are going to be even more shocked that I already know the gender and they have no idea I'm pregnant, for the most part! lol.
Had a great time with my mom though! I don't know what music you ladies listen to, I listen to a mix of everything really, but love country. We saw Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, and Aaron Tippin all in concert. I grew up listening to these guys and have seen Joe and met him before and they are all great! After the concert we got to meet them all too!

Mcwhmm you look adorable! I think you look pregnant but as bsleck said, it may be because I know you are! I think both your parents are going to he very surprised that you already know the gender and they never knew! My mom knew the day we found out, but that's just because she lives so far away and have life threatening complications from both of my ectopics.
Bsleck so awesome your mom was in town this weekend too. I'm so close to my mom that it is literally torture for me every time we're at an airport saying goodbye. I miss my whole family so much, and missing the nieces and nephews grow up is a heartbreaker.
Mom did get us a travel system while she was here, and we spent double tan the one I had originally picked out! We got to the store to look at it and the car seat had no padding so we didn't get it. Went to buybuy baby with a 20% off coupon and she picked out a Chicco one because it was green lol. Lots of padding and feels really comfey and its moms and dh favorite color. I kept insisting we didn't need such an expensive one but she kept insisting dad told her to get whichever one I wanted. Stubborn parents lol.

lol awh thanks girls! I think I look totally prego in that picture, especially since that was a "flowy" type shirt lol. DH insists that I don't look prego in that pic, but I think he's just trying to make me feel better or something lol. I can't believe nobody has noticed, but I know that once i tell them, they will probably look back and be like " oh duh! " lol

Mcwhmm so what are you having?? How was your scan? I think you look preggo in that pic but again maybe because I know you are.
Bselck congrats on you boy!! How exciting! You must be thrilled!
Mod that is so cool your mom bought that for you. And I'm so glad you have such fun together!
I don't think we will get much from family as his parents don't have much and my dad just doesn't get it but I could be surprised.
My back and I are really not friends anymore. Same for my hip and leg. This pain is getting ridiculous. It hurt so bad today at work I almost called the midwife but I know there isn't much they can do. I'm afraid they will tell me to take time off work and we just can't afford that, not yet. It's way to early to be in this much pain. Baby seems fine and oblivious lol. Heart rate is still In the high 160's to low 170's which I think is a bit high but the mw isn't concerned.
My good friend who was about 5 weeks ahead of me went for her 20wk scan and baby had died. I'm so devastated for her I just don't know what to do for her. And then of course I'm scared just when I was feelimg safer. I'm just praying every night and trying to stay positive as we have had no problems at all so far with baby.
