So I'm thoroughly sick of Baa Baa Black Sheep and the Grand Old Duke of York and lately I've been singing some funny old songs to LO. So far I've racked up:
- Teddy bears' picnic
- I do like to be beside the seaside
- I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
- A you're adorable, B you're so beautiful etc
- Henery the Eight I am (scraping the barrel a bit here)
- Why am I always the bridesmaid (ditto)

I even did a bit of a Cockney medely with My old man, Let's all go down the Strand, and All the nice girls love a sailor... before I thought enough is enough.

Has anyone else resorted to singing the old classics :)haha:). Suggestions gratefully received! Otherwise it might be Chas n Dave time

Incy wincy spider
Hickory dickory dock
Rain, rain go away
Ring o ring o roses
Old McDonald

I downloaded 250 song album of oldies from Spotify for a £1.

There once was a man called Michael Finnagan... That's our favourite, the whole house sings it at the top of our lungs...

Row, row, row your boat
Twinkle, twinkle little star
Three Blind Mice
Wind the Bobbin Up

And, eh,
We're the Blackberry Boys :haha:

Oooh, I love that one! Are there more verses to that? I only know the first annoying one.

See, these are the ones we sing all the time, and at rhyme time, and on cbeebies, and on his CD. I have them in my head all day as well

Sorry, what??!

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan,
He had whiskers on his chinnegan,
The wind came out out and blew them in again,
Poor old Michael Finnegan,
Begin again.

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan,
He went fishing with a pinnegan,
Caught a fish and dropped it in again,
Poor old Michael Finnegan,
Begin again.

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan,
He grew fat and then grew thin again,
Then he died and had to begin again,
Poor old Michael Finnegan,
Begin again.

Excellent, thank you!

Mairzy doats, that's my fave and makes Fi giggle. Dingle dangle scarecrow and pop goes the weasel get a good response too

She's a bit spoilt atm though as my big girls are rehersing a school production of the lion king so she gets all the songs from that! They think she makes a great audience lol

With the tune to we wish you a merry Christmas - Well (lo's name) she's a funny un, got a face like a pickled onion, got a nose like a squashed tomato and eyes like green peas.

Oh, we also sing..
There was a woman that swallowed a fly, we dont know why she swallowed a fly, perhap's she'll die..
Goes on for ages, but keeps all the nephews entertained :haha: :flower:

Haha, we used to sing a version of this too! Love it!

I sing round the mulberry bush and change the verses to whatever we're doing at the time e.g.
This is the way we change our bum, change our bum, change our bum, this is the way we change our bum (and then I change it from cold and frosty morning now its summer) on a hot and grumpy morning

Phoebe has her own song too, it goes "I'm a little Phoebe small and cute, fill me up and watch me puke" to the tune of I'm a little teapot. 14yo dd came up with that one :dohh::haha:

Lovely suggestions. I do the Owl and the Pussycat, it almost gets me a bit emotional at the end though!

Oh we also do I went to the animal fair. Love that one.
