Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Chilli, hope your well, seems alot of the reasons for RM is clotting issues in many different forms, mine was APS, anti philosphid syndrome (lupus anticoagulant) and whilst only a weak positive twice - i got put on Clexane and aspirin daily from BFP to 6 weeks post birth.

Im now just over 12 weeks and whilst injections are a pain babes is thriving and doing well.

AMOS - the Docs who look after bloods etc were not convinced on my blood clotting issues at first because of a weak positive. However after 5 MC they eventually decided (and after a lot of crying and shouting) to issue me with it. Look at me now, do I need to say more!

Look at me and WannaB both on clexane and getting further than we have ever gon e before and also Lauraperrysan she is now 35 weeks nearly and after 6 MC was on clexane. It does give hope xxxxxx

Sandi-That's one of my greatest fears, I'll get the "there' nothing we can do" speech and be expected to keep it together. My appointment with the RE is two weeks from Wednesday!

Hi ladies, haven't checked in in a while :). Hope you are all doing well.
Reedsgirl-what doctor is your Sept. Appt set up with?
This past weekend I attended a family wedding and had to sit at the table with my 2 pregnant sister-in-laws! The newly pregnant one got up about 6 times to get sick in the bathroom, and the other one told me that when I lool back in 5 years from now, ill realize my situation isn't so bad!!!! Wtf...grr!!
On a better note, my hubby bought me a bicycle to try and lift my spirits. I've gained a lot of weight over the past 2 years, so I think for now im gonna focus on weigh loss. Mine as well since we have no insurance till Oct!
Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Hi all. I spoke to the hospital today and she said all my test results were "normal". I know this is good news but I can't help being a bit gutted that there is no "quick fix". The sister at the EPU (who I love) suggested speaking to my GP and pushing for clexane and progesterone. She suggested I take some facts with me as he might not know that much about it as he isn't a specialist. Re: clexane, when do they advise you start taking it?

Hey Kat he is out of St. Luke hospital in St.Louis. I believe his name was Pitava..I may have spelled it wrong. Dr. Jessups office set it up for me and I am waiting for the paperwork in the mail.

Arein I know..but I could tell when he walked in there was not good news he was gonna give me. All I can do is hope for the best on Sept. 1

Sept 1 is the appt with the FS..I was seeing just a obgyn. He said he can't help me and referred me to the FS...but I am hoping that I won't have to see him. I will explain tomorrow...when I am not so tired and can type clearly but I have been going to creighton model classes as you know and we had a little break through on my chart!! and they are listening to me!!!:)

I have my appointment on 10th August (was 3rd but been moved a week).

Could I ask those who have already been what to expect, and also if you are put on aspirin or steroids - are you usually told to take them from Ov date or from BFP?

If it's from BFP I'm tempted to think about starting trying again this month as next AF is due 3 days before the appointment!

Hi all - nice to see you and Laura are thriving fluffy! At the smae time I'm feeling sad that so many of the girls who've supported me here are well on their way to healthy babies :happydance:(which is fantastic!!) but I'm still not:nope: Feel like I've wasted so much time waiting for results and yet I still don't feel confident about the aspirin - would feel better with heprin or claxin or something. Ramble!

Thanks for all your responses here though - it's a busy thread! Thinking of you all:flower:

Chili- I know I haven't been on here very much, but I'm still here and still trying for baby #1. It pains me sometimes when I look at the women who I started out here with when I was pregnant for the first time. Their babies are 7 months old now. That's how old mine should be too :( It will happen one day though....I have to keep telling myself that.

Sandi-Oh! Ok, yay! My appointment is two weeks from yesterday, I'm getting really excited.

OKay so what I was saying about the creighton model...I went to see my instructor on tuesday and reveiwed my chart and as I suspected I didn't O. We talked more in depth about my mcs and I how I feel when I am mcing I told her that I can feel everything slipping away cause I can. I feel pregnant then bam I don't. So she agrees there is a problem and from my cm chart and my temps(which she normally doesn't look at) my progestrone level is most likely the problem....and when I go see her again we will schedule a cd21 bloodwork to test it. I am just so darn happy that someone finally listened to me before I have to see a FS!!:)

I just looked at your chart again, it's been awhile since I've stalked it :haha:. Are your lp's always that short? Geeeeez, girl, 6 days?

Hi Ladies, Ive had 3 MC's and have been referred for recurrent miscarriages, my app is at the end of the month. I am absolutely petrified that i will get told "lose some weight, then come back" Has this ever happened to anyone else? please be honest with me :) and also what should i expect? will they just do bloods?xx

Bumpy, I am so sorry for your losses. I am big, squishy, fluffy, plus-size, whatever you want to call it myself - US size 18/20 - and I had the same concern before my appt, but neither my OB nor my rmc specialist said anything at all about it.

Some of the side effects of being overweight, like uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled bp problems, uncontrolled thyroid problems (a little different because weight gain doesn't cause thyroid problems, but underactive thyroid can cause weight gain) are risk factors for mc, but as far as I know, simply being overweight is not. They will probably check you for all those things (diabetes, thyroid, bp), but forgive yourself - your weight did not cause your losses.

:hugs:

Thankyou soooo much! You have no idea, how big that sigh of relief i just breathed was!!! You have made me feel really positive! I just hope that it applies for me xxx

If it's anything like my appointment, they will take a million viles of blood, get the results back, then tell me nothing is really wrong except a little thing called homocysteine levels are high....then 5 months later find out something is MAJOR wrong but is easily treatable. Sorry- just venting. But the million viles of blood is right!!! One thing I suggest- get an actual hard copy of your test results. That's what it took for me to find out what was actually wrong with me.

Thanks for your comments Amos - I haven't been about much either (probably for the same reason!)
SO sorry Bumpy to hear of your losses. I am also a bit overweight and whilst waiting for all my test results and appts when I was not allowed to be pg I have focussed on losing weight as a distraction and a bit of a boost for me - I've lost at least 12 lbs now! Each month I don't get pg means another couple of pounds lost and I've found that very theraputic. Don't beat yourself up about it though - these losses are unfortunately out of our hands!

Well done on the weight loss!! I try and i try but get no where xx

hey arein...I didnt even O last month that was the second time ff moved my O date. I had no ewcm at all to be honest I was dry all month. so no matter what those temps seem to think I know no egg was released...oh well on to this cycle. my lp is uaually 13 when I do O.
