I think I'm the first person in the world to be sad about getting offers from uni lol.
Because I applied before I accidently fell pregnant and now I have just checked my UCAS and have got 3 offers and it's just making me feel a bit... blehhh...
I mean I know I can still go to uni after I have babs but this is the last year of £3000 fees as they will go up to about £7000 next year :(
And I can't just start uni anyway as I would have babs just as uni will start!!
Urgh, feeling down.

:hugs: Chin up :) These things happen, just remember, when everyone else starts uni, you'll have an even more amazing thing happening... you'll be a MUM! And trust me, it's the most incredible thing in the world.

xoxox

I think you can ask to defer for the year, so maybe take a year off and then go to uni? If you defer (i think) the fees are the same, although i'm not totally sure. Good luck x

i thought the fees only applied to some unis if they wanted to raise them??

why dont you ask them for the year break ? then you can see after?

My DH is at uni its hard but manageable x

defer the year (thats what I'm doing with Max at the moment!)
And talk to your uni. some are raising the fees.
It all relys upon how much funding is being put into that uni and course to pay for the lecturers/facilities.
My course is staying the same!

yeh the fees raise if u defer a year but i might ask if that's possible...

yeh i'm just wondering if it would be too late to do that because i've applied to do it this year... will deffs ask.
and i doubt it would be funded because they like to cut the funding on arts courses :'(

thanks for the help guys

I think this will be true! So if you could start next Sept when bubba is 1 you would still pay 3000! Well I assume so because I started uni the year when it went up from 1500 to 3000 but as had applied the year earlier and defer I only paid 1500 throughout all my degree  Give the uni you want to go to the most out of your offers and see what they say about deferring and fee prices! Good Luck!

If you defer this year, can you not still pay the cheaper amount!?

I'm so glad I don't get stuck with the raised fee's...its so stupid :flower:

im not sure how the whole college process works in europe. I recently just left a university in my fourth semester for finical reasons and now im at community college and just found out I was pregnant.

im taking a few online classes right now, and i would really recommend it! even if its just one! I think its a great idea to keep up with your credits, even if its only 6 or 7 a semester.

Then eventually you will be able to commute to a university and do part time!

Im not looking forward to getting all my acceptance letters to schools that i was supposed to be transferring to in the fall :(

It sucks, but with motivation and time and effort. Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer credits online or at a community college would be a great start!

and i will tell you what. After i graduated I was not prepared for real university studying or life. its a great start!

I'm doing photography at an arts institute! And you can defer at any time before the course, call them up :)

Speak to your unis they will let you defer if you explain the situation, youll be able to get grants etc to help you so dont worry.
Ive got two offers and two interviews for september im so nervous!!

i just rang one of the number's and she said i could defer if i wanted (have an interview for that place anyway so would have to get in first lol) but the fee's will still go up if i defer.

If you feel its worth it then do it. what course is it?
Also the fees have gone up but so has the repayment banding (you need to earn about £21,000 now before you pay it back instead of £15,000)

I applied for Uni last year, fell pregnant and I still went :) Just going to do both at the same time. They offered me to deter a year from January, which if you did could get your foot in the door if the lower fees xxx

I applied for Uni before I got pregnant & got accepted.. Declined fully because it just isn't possible for me to go. The Unis are all so far away I would have to move hundred of miles away with a baby.. I am planning on going to college next year, which is still two hours away.. :p

If you live near enough to be able to go to Uni I think you should try it, if you think it's worth the expense :D

Its probably worth checking that even if you started next sept (when baby is little) whether you'd be able to defer. So say you did a month, realised it was too much while baby was so small and defer your place then? Because then the prices would deffo be the £3,000. Student loans also give you extra maintence grants/loans for childcare, so don't worry about the cost of those. I hope you get it sorted. Even if you do have to pay the more expensive fee's if you defer now it will pay off in the long run. You'll be better qualified and have a better chance at getting a well paid job for baby. I'm in my first year at uni (found out i was pregnant in freshers week) i dont really like my course but i know i'm doing it for my little girl, you should be really proud that your so determined to do that :) good luck x

i really doubt this would be possible for me as much as i would love to do it...
cos i would have to move away, be on my own, have a new baby (and not a ****ing clue what to do) and have to start uni all at the same time!!
i think i'm going to defer and then at least i'll have a year to look after baby, and it'll be 1 by the time i start :)

this is all so complicated!!
and i was scared bout all the uni business BEFORE i got pregnant ahhhh :dohh:

specialist makeup :)
tbh i'm not too bothered about that it's just the fact i wouldn't have any specific qualification to use to get a job. and i don't want to be a cleaner all my life!!
