septembryos baby area (09 babies)

Morning everyone!! So tonight is mine & OH's first date night since Joe was born, eekkkk!! Just told OH as it was a surprise :)
How is everyone today? xx

Morning Vicks! Where are u off to tonight? how exciting!
I am going to the pub tonight for a catch up with a friend- very nervous about leaving Izzy as its a few miles away!

We are good, i cant believe its snowing again, makes me really reluctant to go out, but wanted to go to the rhyme time at the library. Will see how the weather goes.

hello everyone! how are you all?

Ohhh; Vicks...a date! How lovely! Are you off any where nice? Matt and i got to go to the pictures a few weeks ago (Avatar 3D) it was our first time out without Noah since before i gave birth.

Scally, i opened the door earlier to take the dogs for a w.a.l.k. and it was snowing here too - what the hell...not again.....seems to have stopped now tho.

Well, i'm officially shattered. Had to escape to my gran all of last week as i was so tired and upset that i needed company. Matt wasn't able to book any time off work at such short notice, so i ditched him with the dogs and got pampered by my gran. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but Noahs sleep habits are driving me to the point of insanity.

When he was a tiny baby he would wake every three hours for a feed at night, so 10, 1, 4, 7..... he now wakes at 10, 12, 3, 5, 7. He's not teething or anything, he will feed at each waking, if offered, but he does not feed well - so i'm 99% sure its habitual waking. He has also gone from being able to self settle at night with no issues at all...not even a murmur, to crying and needing me to 'shhh' and pat his back. He will settle if i let him cry but i feel so, so mean.

I am in desperat need to get this sorted, so if any of you lovely ladies have any thoughts i'm open to any thing. x

Hey Diz!! Sorry Noah is waking so much, you must be so tired hun :hugs: I don't really have any advice I'm afraid, are you BF Noah? We are FF and Joe takes all of his bottles during the day, they call it tanking up I think (doesn't sound very nice!). Have you tried giving him a DF before you go to bed, see if that will atleast stop one of the wakings in the night. Huge hugs :hugs: :hugs:

We're just off for a curry, classy hey!! lol  But it's only a walk from my parents so we can both have a couple of drinks and then go back to theirs, so we'll only be away from Joe for a few hours. Early valentines day meal :flower:

Just got back from the gym too, 400 calories gone, so I deserve that curry, yum yum lol :haha:

:hugs: Sorry you are going through a hard time! It does sound as if it is habitual waking.. and don't feel bad about letting him cry, as you know he is he is fine! How long does it take for him to settle?

Also have you tried offering water at night instead of breast?

Hope everyone else is ok!

curry sounds ace!! i'm BF and give him a DF at 10. Some times it takes 5 mins, sometimes 10 for him to self settle. He also sometimes settles only to wake again 10 mins later and that can go on for an hour.

I will try water.

Aw Diz, have you started weaning yet? Maybe he needs a bit more than milk now? I'm not 100% sure when to start weaning myself, but just a suggestion?? Maybe you could talk to your HV.

Big hugs hun xxxx

Oh Diz sorry to hear about all the waking, big hugs. Could it be just a phase? how long has it been happening? anything set it off? we are still having problems with izzy at night after she slept through from 6 weeks now suddenly waking up alot!

Hey Kathryn- hows u and Isaac?

I didnt go out in the end, was just about to leave to go to rhyme time, and realised madam had done a poo, and it was all up her back- by the time i got her cleaned and changed we'd missed it!

hey everyone!

vicks - oooo how lovely having a "date" night hehe. hope u have a nice time curry sound lush!

diz - :hi: u must be sooo tired hun, the only thing i can suggest is when mason used to wake in the night i gave him water...he soon realised he wouldnt get his comfort feed(well few sooks actually) and stopped waking, i figured he wasnt waking as he was hungry but just out of habit like u say....maybe try that hun??

scally - oh no shame u missed ur class with izzy, mason did 1 of those fab on monday at MILs was NOT fun lol especially when u have snotty SIL laughing at u...:grr: lol

hey kathryn how are u and isaac hun? xx

Hi Everyone!! Rachy & Scally... Isaac and I are fine.. just gearing up to going back to work  I go back 1 day a week after half term and then full time after Easter

I can't believe how much he has grown... he gobbles down his food.. absolutely loves mush! Howver much I would have loved to BLW I really wanted to wean him myself and not have my mum or a nursery do it, so we started early and he loves it! Gets really stroppy if it gets to 12:30 and he hasn't had lunch yet!!

How is everyone's LO doing?

I have started Noah on some food. He gets all his normal BF plus some solids at breakfast and at tea time. I don't think any thing has unsettled him and caused it per say...he's never slept trough. I remember once he only woke at 10, 3 and 6 but that was a fluke!

The water thing sounds like the way forward.... i'll give it a try tonight and see how i get on.

Goodluck with the water!! It may be that he is waking out of habit and because he gets booby.. he also gets comfort and therefore he likes waking!!

hi,

with the waking - is that the times your heating goes on/off? as that maybe a cause.

blake is over bug and back eating like a pig! the only time he is now waking is if he gets arms or legs stuck in cot sides

Hi Amy,

The heating goes off at 10.00...we have no control over this so we have an oil filled radiator in the room that keeps the temp around 17 - 18 degrees.
