septembryos baby area (09 babies)

We had a great weekend thanks. Chilled out at home yesterday as I was out all day on Saturday in London with my sisters, so wanted some time just with Joe! I missed him so much!

Joe still won't drink out of his sippy cup :( I've filled a little bottle with water today, so hopefully he'll start to take this at meal times. He's still on 5 x 8 or 9oz bottles a day, so I don't think he'll get dehydrated, but I worry he's not taking any water at meal times....

It took Izzy a while to take it too, what about adding a little juice to it? maybe he doesnt like water? or u could put a little milk in it? Just so he gets used to having a cup with his meals seeing as he is having lots of bottles still so doesnt necessarily need it.
Even if he just plays with it? Izzy chucks hers on the floor alot, but has the odd sip, i think it'll take her a while to drink any sort of significant amount from it.
Sounds like u had a lovely weekend, must have been hard to be away from Joe all day saturday.

hi,

st john ambulance are your best bet for baby and child first aid courses. they are not cheap though. HOWEVER, last year they did run 3hrs sessions for free which included choking, CPR and recovery postion and burns. (i helped train the 1s here in peterborugh).

i will see if i can find out if there are any free 1s being run this year and let you know. (i have been involved with st john ambulance for over 15yrs!)

***try this***

hi,

just got back from docs and finally some1 has listened to me that blake is ill!!! this is the 4th visit to docs with him being chesty etc. and as i have said for a few weeks now h has a chest infection. doc said he will probably end up in hospital as he is that rattly!

it annoys me sooo much that none of the previous visits i have been listened to and now he's really ill!

Amy- so sorry to hear about Blake hun, i do hope he gets better soon. Doctors are so quick to dismiss things, they should have listened to u from the start!

thanks.

you can go back on the threads on here of how long i have been saying he's ill etc. thing is it has mainly been at night so when the docs see him he "ok". but he has just got worse over w.end so had take him back.

i told OH they are going to think i'm a nerotic/hpyercondria mother BUT i know my son isnt well!

hope everyone else is ok.

One of the girls at my BF support group told me that Tesco run free baby first aid courses - I think you just have to join their baby and toddler group, she went on one a few weeks ago and said it was really good.

Ryan has had a few gagging episodes recently but hasn't really choked yet - the worst was when he picked up a whole slice of roasted onion off DHs plate - he just sucked it into his mouth before I could grab hold of the end of it and he started gagging loads - it got stuck to the roof of his mouth but was right at the back, luckily he hadn't eaten much so he wasn't sick too, but we now know he loves roasted onion!

I don;t know about anyone else but I haven't really got into the home cooking as much as I wanted to, we've been away for the last few weekends and have also just got back from a week in dublin so I've been buying stuff instead. Also whenever I spend ages making stuff Ryan refuses it - I spent ages making a baked salmon dish and some fruity rice pudding myself and he just refused it all. I was gutted to have to throw it all away.

He's hardly eaten at all today as his gums are so sore but he has now mastered the sippy cup as I put it in the fridge so the cool water must be soothing for him he guzzled 2oz with his 2 spoonfuls of dinner.

Amy, I'm glad the dr finally listened to you hun and I hope little Blake is feeling better soon. I'm gonna look at those first aid courses today, see if I can find one locally that I can go to, thanks for the link.

Joe took 1oz of water from a bottle today, so we're getting there, but slowly as he's still using a bottle. I'll carry on with this for a few days before trying the sippy cup again.

x

hey all hope everyone is ok. feel like we have taken one step forward and one step back over the weekend, good news is Chloe is now drinking about 6oz of juice, bad news is its out of a bottle :( it is a totally different bottle to her milk bottle tho. After 2 months of using a sippy cup and only taking a max of 2oz!!!

hi,

i have 5 differnt beakers, all with different spouts inc 1 that feels like bottle teats and blake wont drink as he has to suck harder than with bottle. and the 1 age 4month+ is just holes so drinkcomes out easily - he tips upside down and wears the juice!!!

so he gets out of a bottle for now and has 2 8oz bottles juice in 24hrs, as well as 5 or 6 7oz bottles milk

Right i am off to france in about an hour! they have the internet over there but i dont think i'll be going on it much! Hope u ladies have a good few days, i'll be back on monday night to see what u have all been up to! x

ooooo have a lovely time scally hun!!!....just a bit jealous hahaha :hugs:

OMG!!! what a mess!!!

i stuck blake in his highchair and gave him sweet & sour chicken with ricee (homemade) i stripped him to vest and left him to it. most of the rice was eaten and the chicken was less than he started with. i've had to wash floor and blake and clean highchair but you could see he was enjoying it.

aaaarrrgh! ebay do my head in!

i listed a gba/ds cartridge as my son doesnt like it and it has been removed as its fake! no it's not, it cost me £12 from game station (computer shopin town that buys/sells 2nd hand games, - they offered me £4 for it) so thought would try ebay to get bit more.

and to top it off ebay have removed my selling privaliges for 4weeks apart from what is already listed and i have got to do a training course b4 i am allowed to sell again! i have been selling on ebay since 2004! takes the p*SS! i am soooo mad.

where is everyone???? seems really quite. sorry if i scared you all off by getting cross with ebay!

I'm here Amy lol!! Been rubbish at posting lately

Sorry about ebay hun, thats rubbish of them. Have you contacted them about it?

Scally, hope you have a fab holiday, I'm very jealous!! Wanna hear all about it when you get back xx

Hope everyone's ok & having a nice weekend so far xx

yea i contacted them to be told the item had been reported as fake as therefore theres nothing i can do about it. wont even listen that i bought it in a shop! and it has the official nintendo logo on it.

i've done the "training course" 14 questions on selling of which you can only get 2wrong. i got 1 wrong. this means that i can sell again but i have to go careful with games and dvds as 1 more "fake" item my account will be closed!

That's terrible, how did someone say it was fake? Just by looking at your picture of it?

yep. and appparently the picture was copied off the net - it had my leg in it as took pic on my lap. i'm just going take it back to game station and accept peanuts for it.

we think we know who is behind it as OH had the same b4 xmas with a load of dvds he had listed. we just need proove it b4 we say anything or act on it. all i will say is go back to this time last year and read my posts!!!

its not a major problem just a minor inconvinience. i'm not a major seller anyway, just odds and ends the kids have outgrown/stopped playing with etc. i buy more than sell, so as long as they dont stop me buying we're ok!

what are plans for the next 2 weeks? i may not be on much with the kids being off school. i dont intend staying in everyday unless wet - even if its only to the park. IF i can get a bus to the beach i intend to do so, but not sure how much it is going to be.
