Make the most of your time now before u go back to work, at least it is just 3 days a week, is your OH going to be looking after Joe?

Yeah, he works Friday-Monday, so will be looking after Joe when I'm at work. I'll also be working from home on Monday's, but my Mum will be looking after Joe and she lives 5 mins down the road, so I can see him at lunch

God, I was terrified about weaning lol!! Still worried about introducing lumpier food, but I'm getting there!

It is nice that your OH can look after him and your mum, thats the main reason i'm not going back to work as i have nobody to have Izzy.
The lumpier food, now i'm scared of that!!!! I am still pureeing but only a bit so it is still fairly lumpy. We are doing a few more finger foods again, after building up the courage again after the choking incident!

i have a really stuffy nose, had it for couplpe days and nothing seems to be gettig rid, its horrible.

blake doesnt crawl on all 4s but he has mastered getting around - he flaps his arms and moves like a seal out of water. its so cute.

Too cute Amy!! Joe can turn on his belly to get toys, but not go back or forwards yet.

When I say sitting unaided, I mean if I put him in a sitting position....He can't get up to sitting from lying down yet, but is definitely trying!! It's so difficult to know when they should be doing things and not compare isn't it!

obviously blake is my 3rd and as you say trying not to compare is hard. i have had the baby books out to see what weight each of them were at this age and to see who had teeth and was doing what. and OH has told me off as ALL BABIES ARE DIFFERENT!


we have tried to get black to sit but "he wont bend in the middle" LOL! he will sit in his highchair and bumbo and your lap so we knnow "he can" just wont have any of it on the floor. but why should he sit in 1 place when there is a whole louge to trash???

he can open the plastic tub the wet wipes are in and pulls them out, he can get the tub out of the cupboard! he has pulled kids games off the shelf (got an open bookcase type with games, animals and colouring bits downstairs), he pulled dvds off shelf so have had to move out lounge, he has found the dvd and video player and pulled at them. so glad he cant reach the fish tank or tv!!!

I bet it's even harder not to compare you own children. I can't help reading something and thinking that Joe might be behind or maybe I'm not giving him enough time on his playmat to learn to crawl, but he seems happy with what we're doing, so I should just stop worrying I suppose lol!

I feel exactly the same as u Vicks, that something could be wrong with Izzy as she is behind (not really but sometimes feels like it) or that i'm not doing enough with her, or enough tummy time or enough standing etc

dont forget, some of us on here although classed as "septembryo's" had babies born earlier and later than when they were due, and therefore, what they are doing will be at different rates.

you know your child, if they are happy with what your doing then dont worry about what others are doing. if you feel your LO needs more tummy time then leave them an extra 5mins on floor, or sit and play with them longer etc.

i found my eldest to be the slowest out of all 3 (he's not slow at learning now and doesnt have difficulties apart from concentration), but this was because i had to amuse him and do stuff around housework etc. when middle son was born eldest was just under 3 and couldnt do enough to amuse his baby bro and therefore middle son learnt things much quicker. and the same with blake, he is copying the older 2 and therefore picking things up.

not all babies crawl, some go from sitting to walking straight away, some roll others dont, some sit on own and are happy to be in 1 place.

a lady at the kids school has twin boys (now 5yrs). 1 rolled around and 1 crawled, and she was worried that they wern't both doing what the other was. HV told ehr that all babies are different and not to worry. and her boys 1 talks non stop, the other is really quite and again she was worried that the 1 that didnt talk had problems and he wwent to speech therapy - and he wouldnt shut up!!! he just didnt say much at home because of his twin bro.

Its funny isn't it. We have all these preconceptions of how they should be, and what they should be doing, and always comparing to other babies, but as you say Amy they are all different. As long as they are healthy and happy!!

It's a lovely day out today, can't wait to go out with Joe once OH wakes up!! He sleeps more than Joe goes lol!

Its gorgeous out there isnt it??? Apparently going to stay like this for a while, yay!!!! So nice to put the washing on the line, and to go out without all the layers on or the rain covers!!!!

it didnt seem so strange when they were 4, 5 6 months as still no where near 1yr. nnow they are 7months its like OMG they are over 6months old! quite scary.

hope everyone is ok.

we have lovely weather here as well and the kids want to watch dvds instead of going outside to play!!

hey all...i have a sunburnt face how did that happen?? !! lol i got Chloe weighed yesterday and i cant belive it....shes now 20lb 7oz only 8oz in 6 weeks!!! god she could eat me out of house and home sometimes so i thought she would have put on more than that!! lol she is really active tho!! she has yet to double her birth weight tho!!!

omg she did something which I think is quite amazing the other day....she was led on the floor and i put my fingers in front of her to grab and as usual she helped herself into a sitting then standing position...altho this time when she stood up she took a couple of steps!!!! she was only holding my fingers so had to support all of her weight whist she did it!!! yay lol

It was so hot out yesterday when we wondered round the shops. Think I'm gonna have to buy some kids suntan lotion for Joe's face, as he's quite pale like my OH.

not much planned atm...have to go shopping to get a few bits and bobs for Chloe as i am taking her to butlins with my dad and step mum on monday should be fun! love this weather...altho with Chloe being weird like me (too hot) i can barley put a cardigan on her let alone a coat without her getting too hot!! i worry about her getting cold if i dont tho so dnt know what to put her in!!

oh if u need suntan loation try savers...i just got Chloe a spray one factor 50 with a free hat for £4.99!!!

just please please please dont use sunglasses with the arm bits tho...Chloe decided to chew them and get them stuck down her throat the other day thankfully i didnt panic and knew what to do but i was shaking for ages after :'( she was alright tho started smiling at me, and she got a new outfit out of it as she was sick over what she was wearing!! never been so scared in my life

boots have the ones with velcro at the back for £8...i have these now as i worrie about her eyes with the sun shining!!

we having bbq this afternoon!!! anyone betting on grand national? i am. my dad always used to do it for us kids, so the boys have picked a horse each and we picked blakes. its only horse race i bet on and i dont lottery etc.

leelee- clever chloe, she is doing so well! Scary about the sunglasses, we have the ones with the velcro around the back, been using them loads in the past couple of days!
