Has anyone anything to say about them?

https://www.smanutrition.co.uk/products/gold/starter-pack/

Seems like a good idea for the first day/hospital bag so that it's one less thing to worry about. But I'm a newbie to all this and I just wanted to see what people thought about them?

personally I wouldnt bother sweetie-your baby may not like the taste of SMA or it may not agree with him/her and it will all be wasted.

Best to start off in the hospital with an open mind as to which brand you choose for baby, and see how you go. if all is well when you get home then by all means get it-but I wouldnt buy it in advance just in case :hugs:

Yeah I wouldn't buy in advance as it is expensive BUT we used SMA in hospital and it comes in the same bottles. We still use it now for emrgencies, I have a few in my bags just in case we get caught short, which has happened and its very convenient. I'd ask to try it in hospital if your LO likes, send someone out to get. Its cheaper in mothercare btw, well over Tesco anyway by about a quid (every little helps)

Thanks.....I'm hoping baby likes SMA (both me and hubby were raised on it so I kind of trust it! Does that sound odd?) so I was thinking they might be good for like you say, emergencies etc.

May just buy a carton to put in the hospital bag then instead, (just being lazy!)

I would just buy a few of the ready made cartons to test the waters hun, coz they are only 50P or something, its cheaper for you! Although i agree they are a good idea for the first few days, especially if your having trouble getting around due to been in pain or something. x

I bought a tin of SMA and some cartons before i went into hospital, baby luckily got on with it! The cartons were a life saver when we first got home!

Looks like I'll just get half a dozen small cartons to tide us over and see if they get on with it.

I really do think too far ahead!

Well if you buy a couple of cartons and after a few days your LO agree's with it, then i dont see why you cant buy them??

They obviously sell a lot or they wouldnt be on the shelves

hun you wont need to take any into hospital with you unless tyour hospital has stopped providing baby milk, they give it to you free in hospital.

if your baby gets on with milk i would say go for it hun, they look handy

My hospital gives this milk out for free and I am planning on using it so I might buy some of those to keep for days out etc.

both my boys were on sma gold for 6 weeks and then put onto sma wysoy as i was lactose intolerant.

the starter pack is a godsend and cheaper than the £1 for 2 bottles that my hospital charge. i will be buying a pack or some ready made cartons like i did with lil man as it made life easier than standing and making bottles for first few days.
