Sparkler Mums and Babies Thread!

You're not alone with the tiredness!
But honestly... I'm not looking to BF as the cause... H is just as light sleeping in the day. Just a phase.

However - Her first few days with tastes of foods have caused so much extra gas I really could do without being woken up even more!! :dohh:

Eeeep! its been ages since I posted here... even with a subscription Im terrible :shy:

B suddenly started sitting up around the same time as Hazel (after very little practice... (Daddy in the back ground - this was 10 days ish ago)

We had cucumber the other day & she loved it then we tried banana this morning... I think the face says it all lol

I think teething has started, I used to have a placid, happy, nap happy, smiley baby but someones swapped her for a sad, cranky & squarky one!
Had very little sleep for the last 2 nights - what used to be arms reach sleeping has now become co-sleeping and unless shes attached to a boob will only sleep for 20 mins :dohh:
Preempted it this evening tho - calpol administered and teething powders at the ready - so far B's been asleep for 2 hours  albeit on the sofa with hubbie, but still!

I cant believe our little bundles are coming up to SIX MONTHS!!! Its terrifying if Im honest... how much longer can I get away with the 'newborn' excuse for being bedraggled?!

Hey girls - Katie is loving organic rice cakes! I got her some the other day and she is like a child possessed! She makes an awful mess but has so much fun sucking them till they go all mushy :) The joys of Baby led weaning :) She is happy and that is all that matters - the hoover can pick up the mess :)

Katie has also been sleeping for 8 hours at night for the last 3 nights!! Might just be a fluke but so far I am loving being able to get some sleep... not so much loving the throbbing, painful boobs though but that will pass just in time for her to decide she actually wants to feed in the night again and boost the supply again...lol

Hope you are all doing well. 6 months now! Where has the time gone??

Mmm Culann (and me too!) love the rice cakes. Its terrible they come in those big bags because its half one of one for him, versus three for me :-O

I can't beleive its been almost 6 months already. Its just going too fast

OH has said that I'm his first ever best friend...which made me a bit teary lol!

We very slowly started BLW a few weeks ago and he is going really well with it. He loves taking porridge/weetabix/yoghurt off a pre-loaded spoon and sucks the bejesus out of most veg & fruit I put in front of him. He makes me so proud!

I may also have a little musician on my hands as he goes bonkers over drums, keyboards, anythign that makes a sound - and has started singing too (kindof) :) I took a few pics this morning of him on the piano. I just put the highchair in front of the piano and let him pound away while I packed up the changing bag and he was having such fun hehe :happydance:

Jenny, he is seriously adorable!!! I must get Katie a high chair. She has been eating in her bumbo but I need the high chair as it will be easier for her to be higher up when I am eating at the table. Any suggestions girls?

Oooh soooo quiet round these parts! Everyone must be having too much fun with their LOs!

We're going good. Had a pretty bad week but yesterday and today was sooo much better, so mummy & babba are feeling good again :D

Weaning has been going fantastic! I have such a little feeder on my hands. And he will literally try anything. So far, the best things he has loved are moroccan chicken, red thai curry and a pesto & tomato tart! He loves hummus and sucks tomatoes until there is literally nothing left (his bibs afterwards are soooo gross). I'm so proud of him and its loads of fun for all of us. My cooking skills are being fully used too :)

Hey it is quiet in here.... how is everyone?
Jenny, glad the blw is going so well, you have been more adventurous with Culann than i have with Katie - any tips?

hi everyone just wondering whats going on with our lil ones??

well Zander is just growing so fast started sitting up at 5 months, clapping his hands at 6 months, crawling and saying dada mama bubba and no and pulling up at 7 months and on top of all that he has 7 teeth and working on his 8th I cant believe how fast his first year is going but Im loving every minute of it :)

would love to hear about everyone!!

Hey - wow we are all such busy mummies arent we :)

well Katie is a star, she has just started commando crawling and crosses the room at ridiculous speed. No teeth yet (thank god as am still bf'ing), still waking sometimes at night but getting less frequent now. Says mum, dada, baba and nana and lots of other words / sounds, that sound rather chinese....lol. She is growing too quickly for my liking....

Hope you are all doing well girls, looking forward to hearing from some of you :)

Was nice to see this thread pop up in my subscriptions- it's been a while!

Things are good with us, Tobias is shooting up fast, he was born on the 25th percentile and now just just under the 75th, at 20lbs and 7oz on Tuesday and wearing mainly 9-12 months clothing

He has a whole host of new tricks, like sitting, pulling himself up to kneeling, getting into crawling position but not going anywhere, and commando crawling backwards :haha:

He is very chatty (babababa is his current fave :cloud9: ) and interested in absolutely everything but particular in things which he really ought not to have, like TV remotes, mobile phones, the living room bin and anything that is in it, mugs of tea...you get the picture!

We are still BLW and he has breakfast lunch and tea everyday (although he isn't really that interested in breakfast at the minute) as well as varying amounts of booby-feeds depending on what mood he's in and what we're up to. He still snacky feeds quite a bit during the night so we do tend to co-sleep still during the early hours (as i just can't face the trip across the landing when i'm that bleary eyed!)

Generally he is just gorgeous and lots of fun at the minute :baby:

I have to go back to work in 3 and a half weeks and i am absolutely gutted about it

Oooh also, been meaning to ask- what is happening with the Sparkler meet? Is it still on for the end of the month? I can't find the thread

hhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii not been on here in aaaaaages!!!! how are we all? omg i cant beleave how much all our babies have changed!!!! jack is doing so well apart from waking up at 5every morning!!!!! :( xxxxxx

OMG Kirsty, how did you get to 18 weeks already!! How are you feeling honey?

Hey Rebaby, how much is Tobias actually eating with BLW? Katie has 3 meals a day (kind of) but actually eats very little of it, tends to taste everything and maybe eat a small bit and drop the rest...

He has 3 meals a day too sort of! Breakfast is a funny one at the minute he tends to turn his nose up at anything and everything i offer although i have had some success this week with some hipp organic porridge and some shreddies. He eats a fair amount at lunch, but it's tricky to say how much as he does definitely drop some over the side and usually the dog eats it before i've even had chance to spot what it was! :dohh: He probably eats the most at tea time actually, often times he will be looking around for something else and i'll be thinking "Oh god, what else can i offer?!" and also "It's nearly bedtime!" :haha: lol.

He has days where i feel like he's barely eaten a thing and others, like today where i think he's put quite a bit away!

Where is everyone? Katie is growing so fast now. 9months old yesterday, crawling everywhere and pulling herself up to anything that will stay still long enough! How are your little ones doing?

Finley`s crawling and pulling himself up too! He caught sight of his shadow the other day and started chasing it...right into the wall! Silly goof!

I am really loving this stage. I don`t have to guess as much what he wants. He can get it for himself and he plays soooo well with his toys. I get some nice breaks during the day to do chores and of course BnB

Nighttimes are still hit and miss...more misses than hits... but we are getting there.

We are mostly still on purees with fingers foods in between. I scaled back the fingers foods because he was gaging and chocking more than I was comfortable with and he doesn`t have any teeth and can`t seem to gum things well, and ends up with a terrible stomach afterwards. He is very fussy until he poops. Atleast on the purees and mashed foods he is happier.

We are also combo feeding now. I ran low on milk and with a persisitent case of thrush that I couldn`t beat, I decided it was time. He loves his bottle now more than the boob and so we are more relaxed. I still feel guilty and question myself every feed whether to offer boob or bottle...hate that but I know with time I will accept it better.

Helloooos!

Its been a while :)

We're doing well! 6 weeks left till Culann starts creche and I'm looking forward to it! Well, I'm not looking forward to *it*, but we had a wee visit to the place today and I couldn't be happier with the care he will receive. And he had a ball from the minute he entered the place till the minute we left. He loves people and other babies,so he will fit right in! He'll only be in half days and some full days but not full time so it'll not be a massive change for him.

He is crawling like a maniac. He has started chasing the dog round the house and climbed the stairs a coupleof days ago! He's now starting to try to climb stuff to get to other stuff! I can't control him!! I found it really tough going for many weeks, but it has eased up a bit now - maybe because he more confident with what he is doing and there are less trips and falls. Hes more engrossed in his toys now too so I can leave him on the floor beside me whilst I do chores etc.

Food is going ok. Hes a bit sicky at the minute so eating very basic things. Otherwise though, he has loved nearly everything I've given him! And the spicer the better..!

Can't beleive we are nearly the big O-N-E already. Time has flown so fast. We'll need to arrange an online birthday party in November ;)

We'll need to arrange an online birthday party in November ;)

YES!!!

I figured we're all chasing around after the little people too much to catch up lately ;)

All this food stuff has been keeping me busy too!

Hazel has been eating like there's no tomorrow the last couple of weeks
She's taken 3-4 steps in the living room a few times now, and motors around with her little push along ;D
She signs for milk and food, says Dada, yeah yeah yeah, goooo gurrrr (good girl), yo-gurrr (yogurt), corrrrrrrr (corn), and now uses saying yum yums when she wants food.
She loves 'if you're happy and you know it' - but all songs need to involve clapping or bouncing, because they're the only actions she can do

I feel a little like I'm missing out on her being a baby-baby for longer, but she is SO rewarding now, I'm not sorry :cloud9:

Would love to hear how everyone is getting on x

Hey sounds like H and C are doing really well! Katie is a little monkey :) She is lots of fun but also testing boundaries all the time - pulling on cables and things, getting told no, then looking at me and going back to it... I see she is going to listen to me then  She is crawling all the time and so wont sit still for more than a few mins which is exhausting but she is so much fun and gets so much enjoyment out of things, I love it :)
She is doing BLW and eating anything we put in front of her. She does dislike spoons though i would never manage TW with her anyway - if you try to put something into her mouth on a spoon she heaves and is sick..... an independant baby for sure!!

She will play with her toys for 10 mins at a stretch and then wants me to entertain her but that 10 mins gives me time for making a coffee or very quick catch up on here :) She is not sleeping so well, waking several times in the night, but I put this down to her having the 2nd cold in 2 months and possibly teething... I hope it is teething anyway and not just a sleep issue....

She says Dadada, mumumum, guk (which we think is cat) and lots of other sounds that we cannot make out mean anything particular....lol... she has also developed an obsession with licking things... anything at all.... her favourites seem to be the sofa, coffee table, toys and noses!! Don't ask me why, she just seems intent on licking anything she can get close to..... hence me being very busy and monitoring her or she will try licking the cat next and he won't like that....

I cannot believe we are so close the their birthdays now, seems like time is passing us by so quickly and I want to try and remember it all before it is a distant memory :)
