its such a shame if shes been stripped of the mother of the year award.She obviously loves her children more than anything.

Id laugh in the face of someone who questioned my ability as a mother i seriously would.

Ive been at both ends,i stopped cold turkey with oscar,this time im finding it 100 million times harder,and one things its taught me is never to judge until you have been in that exact situation yourself.

I dont condone smoking in pregnancy its awful and i am ashamed,but im not going to reel off list of why im finding quitting harder this time,just to get a reply of "well its not good enough" from someone who hasnt been in my shoes.

I am proud of myself for cutting down so much and by the end of this week i will hopefully be a complete NON smoker.

Its taken longer than i wanted and though it would but ive tried my absolute best.

When your baby is born, would you blow smoke in its face and inject 2ooo chemicals into its body? No. You wouldn't. You'd be shocked at even the suggestion but that's exactly what ha

If a woman cannot sacrifice, just for 9 months, a fag for her child, I'd question her ability to mother. I'd be very concerned.

But that doesn't mean support shoud not be offered; these women have a severe addiction and need psychological help. And the more we viliffy her, the more stress on baby. It's just a shame we are more concerned for her unborn than she is.

I'm a former smoker so I totally know how hard it is. But when I found out I was pregnant, my instincts kicked in.

I hope for her sake it was a one off.

I think thats unfair, may as well call her a bad mum already and she hasnt even had the baby. I smoked while pregnant at the start with my first as I said earlier, so do you question my ability to be a good parent and a few people in here who have smoked to? very unhelpful comment.

Sad she lost a spot in mum of the year but look at the rest that where in in Katie price was one, id you have to be squeaky clean to get in there she isnt either. Its a bit of a joke that mum of the year anyway though Stacy wouldnt have been in the league of katie and kerry.

That's not very fare to question someone's ability to love their child because they have 1 or 2 fags a day!!

I could say a lot on this subject as I am in the camp of being very against smoking in general, but I'll just point out one thing that a midwife said at our antenatal classes on Saturday:

On talking about the placenta, she said they can tell the placenta of a smoker as you can see the darker areas where the oxygen hasn't got through to. Enough said eh?

If don't agree with smoking during pregnancy then don't smoke during YOUR pregnancy. I used to smoke and gave up to conceive and haven't had one since and won't. I think its disgusting but that's me personally and wouldn't suggest that someone who does smoke during pregnancy is a bad parent. I say do what you feel is right for YOUR pregnancy and leave everyone else to there's.

I quit smoking after 15 years before even tryin for a baby as i knew it would be a very difficult thing to do and i wanted what was best for my baby! Ive now been quit for over 3 years.

What a load of bollOcks about a dr 'giving her the go ahead'! I'm a smoker - I say that because although I haven't smoked for about 4 years it would be easy for me to pick a cig up and smoke it. But I don't, because I have willpower!! I also wouldn't inflict that on my unborn child. I think it's disgusting.

She is in the public eye so therefore she will be judged. She also is allowed to do what she likes but we are allowed to have an opinion on her recent smoking whilst pregnant picture. We aren't starting on her we are just saying that well some people find it disgusting that she carried on smoking whilst pregnant and has made no effort whatsoever (by what she said on Loose Women) to quit for her unborn babies sake. I feel the same way about pregnant women i see in the street too, its disgusting!

If she wasn't famous would she be getting this much grief? I'd say having people intrude on her life this way is quite bad for the baby to. Its easy to say she should stop instantly, but none of us are in her situation, and to be quite honest, its nothing to do with us.

i like stacey solomon, but really dislike the fact shes beencaught smoking when pregnant. yes it is her body, her choice etc, but smoking when pregnant is just so wrong i feel. shes 7 months gone, if she can give up prawns as she said in an interview, im sure she can give up fags too!

It's a bit harsh to say someone's a bad mum for smoking. I'd definitely agree on it being a little selfish though. You have to think of yours AND your baby's health. It WILL harm your baby.
