Started Fertility Testing..Need buddies...

So had my IUI done today:flower: It went pretty well except that it hurt a bit as she put the tube in:wacko: My 2 eggs looked good:thumbup: So we'll see but I'll be extremely happy if just 1 of them turns out to be my super sticky bean:happydance: She gave me an HPT and said to use it in 16 days and call them with the answer.

If it turns out to be a BFN, they want to up my Puregon dose a bit:flower:

The only bad thing today was DH's back went out shortly after he "made" the sample so I had to hurry up and get dressed so I could deliver it myself this morning at 7:45 AM (my IUI was 11:30 AM).

FX for you!
Had my blood test this morning, will get the results in a week.

Thanks heychrissie:hugs:

Will be looking forward to hearing your blood test results, FXed for you:flower:

I was thinking mostly in case you could get bd in but if hubby put his back out there might not be a chance anyway :(

That's really cool about the swimmers, never really thought about how much gets in through regular bd! Like you say there's definitely a bigger chance now than the other cycles :)

Yeah not much chance anyway now:dohh: But I got a lot up there during my IUI so maybe it won't matter:shrug:

Yes during regular BD, a lot of the swimmers get killed off, even some of the good ones, because of how hostile it is in there. I've been recommended to see something called "The Great Sperm Race" (or something like that) on Youtube that talks about how miraculous conception is. Might need to see it, maybe you'd also be interested as well:winkwink:

Think we'll just BD when he feels better and just see what happens:happydance:

Ooh that sounds like it would stress the hell out of me :haha: I don't need to know how hard it is!

Might be good to arm yourself with knowledge if you have any annoying friends or relatives basically telling you that it's easy to get pregnant:winkwink:

I may watch it during my 2WW:shrug: I'm pretty interested in biology so it'd be fun to see. I already know how difficult it is to conceive anyway so no news there:haha:

Haha well the people that knew and gave the "it'll happen just relax" have all shut up :haha: and the ones that don't are too polite to ask, only my uncle keeps nudging for hints when I see him. :(

I'm sure it'd be interesting but I just don't want to freak myself out any more if I see something that we're doing/not doing that we shouldn't/should!

I'm feeling pretty good today at least :) despite the temp drop, it's too early in the 2ww to think AF is on the way, but the mental games have begun. I'm 50% "there's no chance I'm pregnant" and 50% "ooh I had this when I had a bfp cycle, maybe this is it!" :haha: mental torture! I usually use an ic early just to make myself have a reality check, for some reason seeing a blank even if it's super early makes me sit back a bit :)

Lucky, no one I know is too polite to ask:haha: Too bad about your uncle, maybe you should tell him you're trying but are having issues:wacko: It might get him to leave you alone:shrug: Maybe take my idea: I was planning on if any of DH's rude friends started asking me "So when are you gonna have kids, don't you want a baby" that I'd start crying and rush out the door:winkwink: Or maybe something similar? Maybe that will get him to leave you alone.

As to the film I think it starts the journey from when the sperm are ejaculated into the vagina and tells about what kills most of them off and how difficult the journey is from getting through the cervix and into the fallopian tubes.

That's why I try to shrug off any symptoms I feel and just assume each time AF will show up:nope: It's just too much for me to get my hopes up that way and then have them come crashing down when AF shows. I normally avoid the Whole POAS thing but now am going to have to in 16 days time:haha: Although it's not a stick they gave me, it's a cassette:wacko:

Meh he kinda knows but I think just that we want one eventually and not that we've been stuck almost a year and a half :(

A cassette?! That'd be funny to see! :D at least you have something to hold onto, this one test to use in 15 days time!

My good feeling vanished this morning with my second temp drop, feeling mild cramps but no spotting yet but looks like the gel hasn't done anything to my lp :(

If you think he'd be a good person to confide in then you could try telling him that your trying but are having issues and would appreciate it if he stopped hounding you every time you see him about babies.

I'll probably only test if AF hasn't arrived by 16-17 DPIUI. If she shows up full blown then there's no point in testing and I'll just call the clinic and tell them she arrived and get started on IUI #2. If a 3rd IUI fails, they'll put us on the track for IVF at a hospital since it's cheaper and the only way we can get 3 free tries through the state (if we do them at the private clinic we're at now, we have to pay for it ourselves:wacko:). In the meantime, they'll give us 3 more IUIs while we're on the waiting list as it can take up to 5-6 months:wacko: But I'm still hopeful that we won't need IVF, we'll see.

Awww so sorry patience, maybe you need something stronger than the gel:shrug: I don't even know if they have anything better than gel. I'm not on any progesterone supplements myself as I don't think they suspect and problems in that area. Maybe you could ask your GP/GYN if they have anything better?

Wow that's a pretty good schedule at least :) how come you're taking private IUI? That must cost a lot! I'm glad they can keep doing it while you're waiting for IVF if it gets that far :) you're a braver lady than I, here's me testing at 8/9dpo :haha: but I found something at least! How do you plan on distracting yourself? Somewhere on BnB I saw a list of YouTube documentaries about ttc, I might have to take the plunge :D

I think this is a relatively low dose, if i have a chemical this cycle I'll call her and explain, for now no spotting so just trying to get through the day so I can go home and test again :haha:

Tmi but I keep feeling wet, like af is coming but nothing  which is odd cuz on the gel I have barely had a drop of my own cm the whole time!

Because the private clinics are generally much better than the hospitals here:wacko: When it comes to IUI, the state pays no matter if you choose a private clinic or a hospital so you can just as well choose a private clinic since they get better results. They only seem to differentiate when it comes to IVF as I guess there's too big a price difference between a private clinic and a hospital so you're forced to choose a hospital if you want your 3 free tries  The clinic will only do 6 IUIs in all though as if nothing happens in those 6 tries, it most likely will never happen and you definitely need IVF.

I might check out that sperm race movie:winkwink: I've also got some jewellery sets I bought from a hobby store I need to start/finish so plenty to do. One is a bracelet and the other is a bracelet+earring set.

OK you might need a higher dose then? Strange about the CM, we'll see what it means. As to me waiting to test I have no idea how early the tests they use/sell here can detect a pregnancy so I can just as well wait:winkwink: Too bad you can get FRERs here. I checked out how much they cost to ship from the UK and it's a bit pricey:dohh:

I have 3 frer which I'm saving for a later date, I don't mind poas on ic cuz they cost nothing to buy a 100pk!

Where did you look for frer online? I usually buy off amazon UK, you pay shipping but if you buy lots of things it's not so bad :) if af comes this month I'll be stocking up!

Do you speak Danish out English to the drs? My first specialist who refused to help me spoke English, the new one who gave me the prescription speaks swedish to me

That's a strange system but I think it might be similar ish here, places are private but you pay public health prices :) and if you spend over 1100sek in a 12 month period the rest of the visits/treatments up to the 12th month are free!

Right, I didn't think to check Amazon UK:dohh: It's mostly my DH that buys stuff from there so maybe he can look into it? I might hold off on buying any though until I see what the result of this IUI is:winkwink: I think I have 2 left from last time I bought over Ebay so that should do it for this cycle.

I always speak Danish but then again my American accent isn't obvious and my grammer is pretty good although I think I still make small errors here and there:shrug:

I think the private clinic is a bit more expensive than a hospital with IUI pricing but I guess the difference isn't as much as when it comes to IVF:shrug: We do pay for hormones though but I think if our cost exceeds a certain amount, the state helps with paying it.

Good luck Kat!

As for me, I think I Oed yesterday. We were BDing every other day since the Sunday before but didnt do it yesterday , but the five days leading up to O we BDed twice so we shall see :coffee:. so now i schedule SA drop off sometime this week.

Sorry I've been MIA. I am on the same schedule as you cdelmar. I believe I O'd today. Good luck to all the TWW girls. We need some positives. :)
I found out on Sunday my best friend got a surprise BFP. They already have 2 kids and are going through some financial things, but seem happy. This is the 5th person I found out pregnant in a month. Maybe thats a good sign??? Patience I heard that wet feeling somewhere on this site was a BFP at the end. Hoping it is for you.

Cdelmar those stats seen pretty good :) i know everyone is different but all my bfps came from bd'ing the day of or before ov :D

3 ladies in the 2ww, nice! Best of luck to you <3

I hope one of us are lucky this cycle! :hugs: I scheduled DH drop off for Sunday and husband seems like he is ready to go! lol He has been very optimistic and all for it during this infertility process

Just got a call from Gyn office and her nurse said all hormones are normal but progesterone showed i was not ovulating BUT i told her I ovulate late (average is 18-21), that my cycles are over 30 days long and I told her I called prior to taking progesterone to make sure i should take it then and someone told me to stick to the sheet (which is a general mock up for all patients going through infertility treatment!). So she spoke to my gyn and I was told to go get blood work again at the lab. So im not quite done yet as I thought lol smh!

Yes my DH has been great as well, other than a few stupid remarks he's made over the months (most recently on IUI day:dohh:), he's been very supportive and keeping me positive even on those days where I have my doubts if it'll ever happen.

My MIL has turned from being a total "just relax and it'll happen" gal to being a bit more understanding after DH's talk with her. Don't know if she still feels that way but I think she's trying now and will be keeping those comments to herself in the future. Sounds like she's interested in what goes on with an IUI and since I have my doubts when it comes to DH's explanations (which aren't always very clear), I picked up a pamphlet from my clinic for her that I'll be giving her this weekend.

Anyone symptom spotting? I cant say I have anything but intermittent sharp pains on both sides. still very early though. Any nice plans for the weekend? I did test my progesterone yesterday and was 12.2 which was only 4dpo. Much better than I have ever been. I also only got one spike on my opk this month. Hallelulah, almost normal :)
