Started Fertility Testing..Need buddies...

Ugh that must stink studying something which then has no use :( I'm an uneducated peon so I wouldn't know how that feels :haha: I think volunteering with something you love sounds great, it sucks to be considered over qualified for something when there are silly requirements for jobs these days too :(

Hubby has something planned tonight, I'm pretty sure it's dinner so not sure why he's so secretive xD I have bought him (me) some nice lady garments for tomorrow, pity it's not ov time :haha: and I bought us a pair of pixel heart mugs that go from black to red as they get warm, cuz we're old school geeks :)

Yes, especially when you've taken 2 educations:dohh: I would've had a better chance getting a job without any education at all at this point:nope: My degrees will be held against me in any job I apply for that's education wise below. The problem is that in academic areas there is no such thing as an entry level job, they want people with the experience or at the least train people that have connections that can vouch for them that they're good and won't leave the company any time soon so the training won't be seen as a waste. I think another issue is that as soon as I was about 30 and childless, companies had concerns on when I'd be popping out a baby and didn't want to have the hassle of training me only to have me need to go on maternity leave shortly thereafter (which is normally 1 year and paid by the company) and have the hassle of finding a replacement.

It's so great I can talk about this. My brother refuses to believe a word I say and has this crazy idea it's because I'm negative that I'm jobless (my applications have been so positive plus on the few interviews I've been too, I was always so friendly and smiling so don't know where he gets his ideas from) but he seems to have a bad opinion of me. I don't know why:( He's the only one that has this negative opinion of me.

Will you already be celebrating tonight? Those cups sound fun:flower:

Maybe Fury? Loved The Judge if you havent seen it.

Haven't seen any of those, I'll have to check them out. They sound a bit more like DH's taste, especially the first one. We were in the mood for a romantic film though that we can see at home. If DH got to choose, it'd be "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", one of his favorite romantic films although I'm not too keen on that one. If it's going to be a romantic movie, I'm more into the traditional ones like "The Vow" and anything similar.

Isn't Denmark a bit like Sweden in that respect that they're not allowed to discriminate against women/mothers etc? Like you can't not hire someone cuz they're pregnant, or not allowed to ask if they plan to have kids any more. I'd happily swap jobs and not give two hoots what they think if I got pregnant soon as I started working, it's only a year when you're planning on staying forever :) if they try to fire me before that trial period is over u could claim discrimination based on being pregnant and you'd win, in theory at least, obviously never tested it :haha:

He didn't want to celebrate on valentines so we did tonight :) was a lovely meal! Tomorrow we're going to go to the first dunkin donuts to open in Stockholm :haha: great date! He loved the heart mug very much :)

Yes but they don't do it openly, they just cite lack of experience. How can you prove that they don't want to hire women during their fertile years when they use that excuse? You can't:nope: They don't ask if you're going to have kids, they assume every woman wants kids.

During the first 3 months, they can fire you for no good reason at all. I actually tried that back in September 2013. They came with the most crazy excuses and made things up to fire me. Although it didn't have anything to do with TTCing, I just couldn't get along with the crazy Lab Tech, she was hormonal as she was in her 2nd/3rd trimester and she was so rude and nasty towards me. They were also very nasty and rude about the way they fired me and made me cry:cry: So glad I'm not there anymore (only 1 nurse was nice, it was a part-time job at a hospital) but it certainly hit the nail on the coffin of me ever getting a job again.

Although I did hear a story about this woman in Denmark. She worked at the same company for 3½ years or so before she got pregnant. When she told her boss and coworkers, they were mad at her. She had her baby, had her maternity leave and then came back. About 2 months later, she was fired and they came with a bunch of reasons but she's sure it was because she had a baby but of course can't prove anything since they used other excuses.

So the problem is proving it if companies are going to use other excuses to get you fired. No proof, no case:nope:

So we have figured out our Valentine's Day dinner: it'll be lobster thermidor with green beans and some white wine. Yes, I'm gonna be naughty and have a couple of glasses tonight:wine:

Then on to watching a romantic Blu-Ray movie:happydance: DH tortured me last night with watching "The Shining" (the one from 1980) because it was Friday the 13th so no guilt at all with him suffering through a romantic film tonight:haha:

Ooh sounds lovely :) we had a great dinner last night then I wanted to geek out and play together :haha: today i'm sulking cuz i've gained so much weight and cancelled my gym class cuz i'm still coughing so much :( feel like I can't enjoy myself, especially with my body being awful this 2ww!

What did you play?

I'm not much for games, the only board game DH can on rare occasions get me to play is "The Settlers." I do also like "Trivial Pursuit" and "Bezzerwizzer" but think it more fun if you're 3-4 people, at least. It's a Christmas family tradition in his family to play "Trivial Pursuit" on 2nd Christmas Day which is the 26th, that's always fun. Since his family is so large it gets divided up into 2 teams with a fairly equal divide so there's a good mix of young and old on each team. We actually got the "Game of Thrones" board game for Christmas but need at least 3 players to play it so haven't had a chance to try it yet:dohh:

Awwww hope you soon feel better and can start exercising again:hugs: I'm so bad I don't get any other than what I get cleaning the house:haha: I know what that's like. Remember how I felt a few years ago before I decided to loose weight. I clearly remember taking a shower at this hotel and seeing how fat I'd gotten:wacko: So quickly started to do something about it and lost around 10 kg although I do need to loose another 5-6 kg to be more where I was before I put on a few pounds but that'll probably have to wait until I need to loose baby weight.

I really hope I can do something about it, I feel like my hormones ate out of whack which could be contributing :( my weight has only gone up and up, around 8kilos in less than 6months! Well done on losing 10kg, that's my first goal (ideally 13 but 10 would be perfect also)

We're your average geek gamers, playing MMOs, board games, card games, consoles and handheld :D

When I started to lose weight, I think I cut down on my portions, started to eat a bit healthier and went to the gym 2-3 times a week. I just mostly used the equipment they had but probably should've joined a class or something instead. Which was boring because I started when my DH was on a 2 month business trip so I was alone. The only fun thing about it was his coming home and I had lost most of the weight:thumbup:

So maybe you could try that?

I have a great gym and go to lots of fun classes :) so much easier following someone telling you what to do :haha: over a month it equals about 1-2 x a week, and I'm just steering off anything I can't make at home, hopefully it'll be a good start!

Yes if they can do it properly:wacko: I'll never forget that Zumba class I took and me and about 3/4 of the class couldn't follow her and this was for beginners:dohh: She was barely teaching, just pretty much doing te steps and we just had to follow her but most of the time it was hard to do. Several gave up halfway and just stood to the side and watched. I decided to drop it and use the DVDs which are easier to follow since they break the steps down for you. Something that instructor couldn't figure out how to do at all:nope: Don't know if I dare take any other classes if that's how they do things:shrug:

Oh wow that's embarassing :/ lucky SATS are amazing, i've been to all kinds of classes :) had a particularly lovely instructor at Core on tuesday, he was super encouraging !

Man i'm just a poster girl for illness I swear, I was at the shops 2hours ago and coughed, randomly pulled/slipped something ! :( it's not agonising but i'm not sure how fun work will be tomorrow :( SIGH !!!

It was really odd that my instructor did it like that. She didn't even take a hint when so many people gave up and just watched:wacko: The worst part was I'd also signed up for the class after which they said I should be able to follow after that beginner course but not really:dohh: Think at that class there were a few more that could but wow, why they don't bother to really teach the steps I just don't get:nope: Good thing your instructors don't do that because it's really annoying:dohh:

Hope you soon feel better. I've had a slight cold myself these last few days. Just wish this weather would go away so these colds stop:nope:

So tomorrow is the big day:happydance: Took my trigger last night at 10:15 PM. Go in tomorrow at 10:15 AM for the actual IUI. Have reminded DH he needs to make a sample Tuesday morning and swing by the clinic with it. I really hope this one is the one:thumbup:

I've never tried Zuma because I do think it's a class you just have to try and follow and hope for the best, they can't really teach step by step so you just have to stumble about and feel like shit while everyone else looks like dance pros :haha:

Hooray for tomorrow! Let's hope this one goes through :D

I'm doing terrible at work atm, luckily I can sit down stairs in the sofa with the laptop though it's not ideal (only cuz bosses aren't there lol)

I think they can teach the steps because the women on the DVDs go through them slowly on the 1st DVD so you can follow them and learn it. I think that the ones at my gym don't want to bother. They should at least do it for the more challenging steps so you can see in slow motion how it's done.

Yes it would be nice. Otherwise I'll have 1 more to go before they refer us to a hospital for our 3 free IVF tries and 3 more IUIs after that so we don't "waste time" just waiting.

If it's really bad, maybe you could go home a little earlier? I know my DH sometimes will feel too sick to go to work but then does the more important work at home on the sofa if he isn't feeling really horrible. Don't know if that's an option? It's a very rare occurence though, DH is almost never sick and when he is, is better after 6 hours or so. He doesn't understand that I can be sick for days, like a normal person:dohh:

Hehe sadly I have a "you're home you're sick, no working" rule from my bosses, even though it only penalises me cuz i have so kick backlog when I'm back! I might head home a little sooner, we'll see. I'm just extremely unpopular lately cuz I'm off so much.

Hope you're feeling better today patience:hugs:

So today was the day:thumbup:

I think it went well. DHs sperm count was 30 million and she said that was good. The only thing was I'd already Oed so she couldn't measure the 2 follies but since she could see that it had just happened, our chances aren't decreased at all and should be good.

FXed:flower:

Forgot to mention I didn't get my usual sore nips the day before O day which is totally weird

Oh wow that was lucky timing! :) great you probably O'ed multiple eggs then :D good luck to you!

I'm feeling totally out this month, I never felt the pregnant vibes I normally get, and now my symptoms are going down, I can't trust any abdominal aches or pulling cuz of my back ache it can be that affecting it :( but when the boobs start going down I know it's over, and my temps just refuse to go up so I don't know what happened this month  one more bloody month till specialist time again, I doubt she'll even be very helpful about what to try next :(

Long story short I've been super emotional last night and now grumpy today! I'll keep on the progesterone just in case of a miracle but not expecting anything.
