Started Fertility Testing..Need buddies...

You think so? I always thought that the IUI should preferably happen shortly before you O:shrug: Here's hoping it works out. I admit I freaked a little when she said I'd already Oed:wacko: I asked her but she claims that since it happened so recently, it shouldn't decrease our chances so that was very reassuring to hear.

Awww so sorry patience:hug: Will you be considering IUI then or...? Maybe you already mentioned it but what did the specialist tell/recommend you last time? I'm semi-senile as I always tell people :winkwink: Hope you soon are in a positive mind set again. I know it takes me a couple of days after AF shows up before I start feeling positive again:nope: I don't know if it helps, but maybe just expect AF will show up each time? That's what I do and I now avoid all the crying and semi-depressive behavior AF used to bring in her wake:thumbup: Although last time I did get a bit angry (she showed up while I was at DH's grandmother's 92nd birthday, great timing) so I ended up hitting my head on her lamp :dohh:

I just meant lucky as in had it been any later it all would have been for nothing! So good that you still got it in time :)

It's very hard to expect af when I keep getting pregnant basically every other month for the past year :( this month I went with that mentality but this morning I woke up and my boob pain had almost totally gone overnight, weird but could be to do with the whole estrogen madness in my system this month. Tempted to test earlier than planned at 12dpo and stop the progesterone so I can save some cash and some time on my cycle! Not willing to do it just yet in case, gotta give it a good chance but I've had zero symptoms except for the boob pain which kicked in 2 days before ov so never made any sense :s normally they hurt from 5-8dpo so them dying out now is normal.

Sigh I'm a total grump today :( the specialist never mentioned a next step so I've absolutely no idea what to expect, I'll try anything even if it is IUI!

OK yeah, don't know what the window is for the IUI to be successful. I probably should've asked her, just out of curiosity. She gave me an HPT so it's nice we're getting free HPTs:winkwink:

I have heard that being on progesterone can be tricky because progesterone can give you symptoms associated with pregnancy without you being pregnant. So that might be why. It might be a good idea to talk to your specialist/RE to see what they suggest. Maybe find out why you have had so many chemicals? I think they say if you've had 3 chemicals or more, it could be sign of a problem. But that's maybe why you've been put on progesterone? I'd talk to your specialist/RE and find out what she/he recommends. It might be worth a try with IUI at this point if she/he recommends it.

It's like any other ov bd timing I imagine? As long as it's the day of ov you're fine :) haha one test would never be enough for me!

I would have loved some pregnancy symptoms this month then I could have kept up my false hope :haha: I have developed a bit of a 6th sense for when I am and when I'm not, though Dr didn't believe me because progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms, but I knows :D

I'm not allowed to come back till I've tried the progesterone for 3 months, I still started it a month earlier than she wanted. Grr! Oh well, tonight I have a semla bun (not sure if they're exclusive to Sweden or not) and Friday I start a raw food cleanse for 2 weeks :)

The name semla bun didn't ring a bell until I looked it up and found the Danish word for it: fastelavnsbolle:haha: But it sounds like the Danish one is a bit different:

The version sold in Danish and Icelandic bakeries on or around Shrove Monday is rather different, made from puff pastry and filled with whipped cream, a bit of jam and often with icing on top. At home people may bake a version more similar to a usual wheat roll, mixing plain yeast dough with raisins, succade and sometimes candied bitter orange peel.

DH and I don't eat much of those. We normally stick to cinnamon rolls (kanelsnegle) or tebirkes (don't know the Swedish or English name:shrug:).

Does a raw food cleanse help? Ok so how many more months on the progesterone do you need to try before your RE wil help you?

In England today we eat pancakes :D i can't stand cinnamon buns ! The raw cleanse is just good for my sugar cravings, and hopefully weight loss, and hormone balance :) i've never managed to stick to it fully, and hubby wants to join in again but he complains about EVERYTHING cuz he hates it all xD so we'll see ! It's not really for TTC i just feel my body needs it.

I got 3months of progesterone prescription, so to try that 3months then come back. So one more month after this till I can make an appt

Yum pancakes, now I totally want some American-style pancakes (so thick ones, maybe with blueberries) with maple syrup and maybe a cinnamon bun:winkwink: Maybe DH and I should do that this weekend:haha: I love cinnamon buns<3 Is it because there's too much cinnamon or you don't like cinnamon? Maybe the Danish ones are better than the Swedish ones:winkwink: Don't think it'd be much for us with the raw food, especially DH since he loves his meat:haha: Maybe your DH just could stick to it most days and have 1-2 days a week where he's more free for the first few months? Don't know if that'd defeat the whole purpose though but maybe it'd better ease him into it?

Ok here's hoping 3rd time's the charm :dust: It'd otherwise be interesting to hear what your RE would recommend but here's hoping you won't need to know:happydance:

I've made my own before and they were good, just the store bought or ones from pressbyrån/7eleven are so processed and sickly and half baked so they're doughy and UGH ! No, that's why i hate them, i'm an cinnamon addict :haha:

The cleanse is only 2weeks so he'll just have to suck it up ;)

Next month will clearly be a waste too, 2 months on progesterone, one chemical one bfn, both times symptoms drop at 9dpo but the prescription keeps the LP going

HI girls. I had my first IUI last night. I got up at 430 am on saturday tested all day praying for a positive opk. just a blinker. Then Sunday 800 am ...solid. I couldnt take off monday am but got there at 5. I had one follicle that was 17mm and one that just burst. So they started the iui. Thats when it all went down hill. I had what they called cervical adhesions. So she had to break through my cervix. I have never felt pain like this. I was seeing stars as she pushed this tiny cathter through my cervix. She was able to do it, but I am still in pain. She told me that that may be why I wasnt able to get pregnant. If my cervix has adhesions, it will prevent sperm form entering. So we'll see. If this doesnt take then I need to go back and find out other options....wishing you both luck :)

How the hell had noone noticed this before?! I would have thought a cervical check up was step 1! Will this opening she made be permanent at least? Wow how frustrating! Sorry you had so much pain but it sounds like for the first time those swimmers are exploring your cervix :haha: good luck!

Have you tried ones from a bakery? They're usually good, I don't think I've had one that was bad from a bakery:winkwink:

Lets hope it won't be a waste. You'll hopefully be recommended IUI next time. But if you have a progesterone problem, they'll probably keep you on it.

I've never heard of this either, what causes it? Will it come back? I'm sorry you had such a rough time. My IUIs have only been uncomfortable but not painful.

Although as to giving up on IUI already after this, an experienced fertility nurse at my clinic told me that the 1st one rarely works and in her experience, it's mostly #2 or #3 that results in a BFP. So you might want to try it 1-2 more times before giving up on it and exploring IVF.

They say its something that cannot be seen by u/s, xray, etc. I ahve to ask if this is permanent or if if I would have to do it again. These sperm better be doing their job !!!

Have you never had a gyno check up though? I thought they'd notice this kinda stuff...

Bakery good are awesome Kat but then I always chose cardamom bun, my absolute weakness!

Yes you would think. Didn't you, jjbubbles28, have a check before being able to go through with fertility treatments or even during the HSG?

Maybe you should try a cinnamon one patience, just for a change:haha::winkwink:

I think I need to get DH to buy some on Saturday morning, all this talk of cinnamon buns has really given me a craving for one now:winkwink:

Hehe nope cardamom bun is the best! Hubby eats enough cinnamon buns for the both of us :haha: I feel a bit like I want one of everything I enjoy that's made me fat before Friday when 2 weeks of hell begins!

Yah JJ surely you've not had an HSG in that case? I lose track but it's the same kinda instrument used to shove up your delicate bits so

Now I'm almost tempted to try a cardamom one but don't even know if we have them here. I know about rum buns (at least that's what I think they're called, in Danish: romsnegl) but never a cardamom one:shrug: Otherwise will have to try next time I'm in Sweden:winkwink:

Yes you would think that during an HSG they would notice and I assume jjbubbles28 has had one since they would need to know if her tubes are open (or at least one of them) before recommending IUI, otherwise it's straight to IVF if both tubes are blocked.

They're just called kardemumma bullar here at least ^^ currently waiting for my mother in law to come by with dunkin donuts, they just opened one in Stockholm and she is obsessed with anything from USA :haha:

OK now I'm totally jealous:haha: I totally miss those and try and eat them every time I visit the US but that's not very often:( I think they're going to open one in Copenhagen but don't know when, will have to investigate:haha:

I did have a HSg and there was no resistance at that time. Every time I have been to the doctor and had paps which is once a year there was never a problem. which makes me think it is more recent.

That's very odd:-k I'd ask your RE about this and see what he/she says. I probably couldn't have resisted asking when you were having the IUI done if it were me but I can't stand not asking about something I'm curious about:winkwink:

I hope you soon find out what those adhesions are about:flower:
