Stop been so cheap!

I'm sorry you've had a rough time but there's no need to slate the NHS in general due to one hospital or a certain departments failings to you. It really is a kick in the face to all nhs employees who work their arses off everyday to help and care for people. But I was in my original posting replying to the OPer.

It must suck so bad to have had so many problems :( I wonder tho if this might have happened if we lived in a medical insurance country?? Possible I guess and probably crippling financially.

if they'd listened to me in the first place it would have cost them the price of a simple blood test

I find it sad that people are subjected to bad care. But I stand by tge fact that overall the NHS is an amazing service. And something we should be proud of
X Xx

Wish people would stop saying the NHS is free lol....

I just wish my midwife was better only seen her 3 times in 26 weeks and she's crap. Can't change either she's the only one in the area I live in boo!!

I know I keep banging on about this Ness but have you tried ringing the main midwife centre about both her and the number of appointments you have had?

I have the number if you want it.

Jo xx

I wish people would stop moaning about it........ the option to go private is always there if NHS i so bad.

This is true.

We have PMI through work, I pay mine through my tax and my son's I pay out of my salary every month..but you know what? It's crap. And I've never used it. I prefer the NHS everytime, yes it isn't perfect but it's certainly pretty good.

No, you're right - as only one small insignificant person that the NHS doesnt give a crap about and having experienced what I have I clearly don't matter and don't deserve to have the opinion I have. I'm referring to my Primary Care Trust who are part of the NHS as a whole I'm sorry if you feel personally attacked :flower:

I'll also say that I work in clinical negligence and the amount of cases we have where clients have been treated so badly or made out to be lying even when they have a broken neck is shocking.

Look I'm not trying to get anyones backs up or upset anyone or be controversial. Neither am I saying that NHS employees in general don't work hard or do a good job, I just think it should be seen from the other side too when you're constantly failed and end up with depression and a horrible long dragged out illness because no one will listen to you x

I've never heard of that hun - I would be really grateful for the number though if you could PM it to me?xx

Some people in this thread are so ungrateful.

How helpfull!!! Posts like that just degenerate the whole thread into a school yard insult contest!!!!

No, the whole of the NHS should not be brought into disrepute because of one persons experience - however a service is only as good as YOUR reception of it and if you have had a pretty crappy one it's hard to see the bigger picture!

The posters slating the NHS may be wrong in their generalisation of the whole service but your response is way below the belt and not conducive to the topic in any way!!!

^ i dont think the comment was below the belt? It was an opinion? She didnt personally attack anyone!

Scotland dont get free prescriptions either hun. We get them cheaper but not free.

Well said Jo!! I agree with everything you've said.

And I apologise if I've offended anyone working for the NHS - it's certainly not a personal attack on anyone who prides themselves on their job trying to do the best they can with the limited resources they have and the staff shortages. I'm just simply trying to express why I am more than dissatisfied with the care I've received based on my own experiences :flower: x

I think this thread has got a little bit out of hand. The consensous is that the NHS does a pretty good job considering their resources, but that some people have had a bad deal. Which does happen in life with everything. Unfortunately nothing always goes prefectly, or to plan or to how we would like it. But that is no reason to take what we do receive for granted.

yeah you're right SaskySprite.

I won't give my twopenneth on my experiences any more think I've made it clear I had a bad experience :haha:

So back to the original post anyway - I don't think it's medically necessary to have more than 2 scans unless you are high risk or have bleeding or another medical reason

Not read all the thread but I have to say, the NHS might not be ideal but I for one am very glad that it exists. I know that if I or Grace have to go into hospital I don't have that added worry of how I'm going to pay my medical bills when I get out. I would rather have to wait a few hours for a bed than to be seen straight away but then have to fork out a grand  I think they do a good job given the resources they have

^ Sorry, but thats a personal attack.

Dont think thats very fair when you had a go a Serene......
