Summer Lovin'...bring us some babies!

Michelle, I glanced at your post & thought at first it was a pregnancy test...lol! Hopefully that is not too far away!

I honestly do not know why dark chocolate...read it on a forum so decided to add it to my regimen. I know in general it is good to eat some dark chocolate once in a while as long as you do not over indulge.

I have always wanted to try the pineapple core, but this is the first tww I actually have remembered to stick to it. Pretty proud of myself. And I also found a great tww snack...pineapple & chocolate! I actually cut the whole pineapple in 5 pieces & am eating it all not just the core.

Another thought I had was to chop up the brazil nuts, chocolate, & pineapple & add it to vanilla ice cream. But that does not go with the other tww tip I have recently read about. They say to keep yourself warm for circulation...don't eat or drink a lot of cold stuff & add warm stuff. Very hard in July! So they say to never go barefoot in the house & always keep your feet warm. I am also trying to keep my belly warm...not too hot, though. I plan to start drinking tea before bed & I bought a bunch of new herbal tea I plan to take to work. So I plan to drink 2-3 cups of tea at work along with only room temp water. I am usually cold at work with the AC, so plan to keep a heater on my feet. I will also try to only eat soup for lunch. They say a warm womb helps with circulation & making a cozy place for the egg to settle down in.

So I am trying it all, ladies! The way I see it, none of this hurts anything, so why not give it a try.

Hi there ladies :hi:

I saw this thread In the June topic thought its time I joined.

So af arrived on the 4th July. So start again for us.

At least metformin has brought my cycles back, I only had a 34 day cycle! I usually don't have period at all! I had one 31st May and then 34 days later on the 4th July. Its just a start at least one thing is sorted and out of the way my cycle lengths :happydance:

So I need to go for blood test asap to check hormone levels.

Good luck this month ladies!

:dust:

Michelle, congrats on the + opk! That is awesome and it would be so cool to have a twin bump buddy!! Fx'd the next test you post is a bfp! :)

Beaglemom, I love your positive attitude and how you are trying new things! As far as keeping yourself warm...you gotta have your oven fire up to bake the bun(s)! My husband always asked if I was busy "baking" all day! :) The pineapple and dark chocolate sound yummy too!

Erin, I am anxiously waiting for your report. Thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes that everything went good today.

Hi everyone else, hope you had a good weekend!

Beagle I wish it was a + pregnancy test! Going to store today so going to buy a pineapple. That's what I was telling dh about the castor oil. He said he didn't believe in all that but what harm can it do?! Also, on a pamphlet it say to till the soil before you plant the seed which makes total sense to me! I also want to put some on him but I fell asleep last night before I could do it. Look at castor oil for count too beagle. I was surprised but now to me it should have been common sense. Anyway GL beagle, I want this to work for us both!

SarahLou, sorry about the negative but glad at least you are having more normal cycles.

Michelle, at this point, I do not shut anything down. Make sure you only do the pineapple dpo 1-5...something about doing it early is not good but can't remember why. I also read eggs are good for you but I honestly do not have time for eggs. Maybe if I were to boil them & bring them to work as a snack.

I have my bag packed for work tomorrow...full of tea & hopefully tomorrow morning I will remember to add my cold stuff. Oh I also bought an individual size infuser cup today. Not sure if any of you ladies do that. Basically it is that thing to make flavored water with fruit. I did watermelon & loved it. Right now I have a big infuser with apples but they were gala I think...need granny smith next time for a bigger taste.

Not normally a big health nut but I am trying SO HARD! But we still eat the bad stuff. My motto is to limit the bad stuff & replace with good stuff. But if I went totally healthy I would kill myself...lol! I have actually became a really big fan of creamed spinach...I buy it frozen.

Beaglemom, I saw this posted in a different thread and thought of your post:

Chinese acupuncture claims that the feet are directly connected to the uterus so warm feet=warm uterine environment for embryos to thrive

Yes I always have cold feet. So keeping socks on at home. I have a neck wrap heated on my lower stomach and covered in a blanket. Crazy considering the thermostat is on 76 and over 80 outside.

Oh and I have a new acronym. My husband just said I need a WW. (warm womb) :)

Beagle I thought that you were supposed to avoid the pineapple meat because of the acidity or something? Just eat the core. At least that's what I have found about it. Said it can cause uterine contractions and spontaneous miscarriage. Don't want to freak you out just wanted to share the info with you. Will eat mine tomorrow morning with my pregnitude water:)

I've heard conflicting views. So I just eat it all and not stress over it. Seems everything you try you can research and get yourself all turned around. Google can be the devil. :) So don't worry...you aren't freaking me out. But most forums I read the girls ate the whole thing.

Oh but I have read several sites that say no before O. Can screw up the ph. You have to be sure to wait until about 1 dpo...not to exceed 5-7 dpo.

Hi ladies! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Beagle, I read your post and put on socks! :)

Just popped my first Clomid pill! I plan on taking them before bed, but I just took it a couple of hours before to see how it affects me. Don't really want to wake up freaked out by a reaction. I'm excited. When we filled the prescription I told DH to be careful with that bottle...there's a baby in there! He is afraid I'm going to "have a litter"...I just rolled my eyes!

Good morning everyone!

Sorry, this is going to be a long post...mostly filled on nonsense.

I forgot to tell you guys about my husband over the weekend. We went to some yard sales & found a sound machine for $1 so my husband was very excited & bought it to add to the baby collection. He was playing around with it last night. Then yesterday we went to Sam's to get some things. I had the cart with 2 cases of water, a box of pool shock, & a huge container of chlorine tablets. The cart was still easy to push. But I started pushing it & my husband said to stop over exerting myself. I thought it was so funny. So everytime I grabbed the cart out of habit, I said oh no, I need to stop over doing it. One time he went to get something on a different lane & I had pushed the cart still shopping. When he came back I looked at him & acted as if I would pass out & wiped my forehead...lol! Then the whole time at home he was making sure I stayed warm. He drank tea with me at night. And last night I wanted to take a warm bath...we were finishing up the laundry & he said you just go take your bath. He is absolutely the best. And I know if I have to do IVF, he will be there for me 100% to help out. Also when I get pregnant.

Oh then he said once I shouldn't swim in the pool. I thought he was thinking it was too cold. But then he said he thought all the boys would come out with the water as I was swimming. I laughed so hard! I said for one thing, it was an IUI, so I don't think they are falling out. And besides that, we did the IUI on Wednesday...today is Saturday! They are long gone on their journey by now!

We were also watching a new show on Hulu...In the show, I guy was trying to get his wife pregnant...this was not the main storyline. Well he had low count (like my husband). Then in the last episode, she got pregnant. Well her name was Sarah (like me) so my husband said it was a sign. He is being very positive about this cycle. I am not putting all my emotions in to this one, but I know I will be there soon. If not this time, then one more IUI & on to IVF. My only issue now is our schedule. Again, I am going out of town near when the IUI would be. But I am going to work out the math & use my progesterone to delay AF (if needed). Then we are out of town the 1st part of Sept. So hopefully if it gets this far, we can start working on the IVF stuff before our vacation. I am so excited on what this summer is going to bring!

One more thing...then I will get to work. Yesterday i did not drink a lot of fluids (something I need to work on). But I has to go to the bathroom a lot it seemed...& everytime I went, it felt like I had been holding it for 8 hours. Then last night I went before laying down. Usually I drink some water with my vitamins & last night I drank my tea. So I woke up around midnight to go which I was like well I did drink right before bed. But again, it was a lot. Then I woke up once or twice more. You know how you wake up & you sort of think well I am up I might as well go to the bathroom...well I woke up & it was more like I HAD to get out of bed to go because I had to go so bad. It was strange. And I went twice this morning before leaving for work...& I have to go again not much more than an hour later...& I haven't had much to drink besides a couple sips of my protein shake. It is really strange. But I think 5 dpo is too early to be thinking about signs.

Beagle, your husband sounds so sweet and supportive! :)

So far it's been fine with the Clomid. I'm sure some side effects might show up later but smooth sailing for now! :) Did your docs say anything about caffeine while on Clomid? I only ever have 1 cup of coffee in the morning but I don't need it so just wondering if I should skip.

Sarah - I was never told to avoid anything while on clomid. I usually did not have any side effects until after all the pills were gone. I hope you don't get any side effects.

I have almost eliminated caffeine from my diet except the occassional soft drink when I eat out. But that is just my own decision. I knew I would want to cut back when pregnant, so decided to start now. But everything I have read says 1-2 cups of coffee a day is fine even when pregnant.

Oh one other side effect is bloating during O. Especially if you get more than 1 egg. My first O on clomid, I was on the couch all evening & could barely get through BD.

Beagle Your husband is a real keeper! That’s really sweet.

Sarah I did my first round of clomid this cycle and finished last week.
I had a slight headache and some pressure on my eyes but other than that, I’m ok.

AFM, I’m waiting to O. 3 days after stopping with clomid, I started to get twinges on my right side.
It has been on / off but today it’s much stronger and only on the right side. I guess I already know from which side I will be ovulating.
Also I started doing castor oil packs. I don’t know if I need it or not but I can’t hurt. I really want to make the most of these next cycles while on clomid. And I want to try everything within my power to prepare and help my body. I read somewhere that blocked tubes is one of the big infertility reasons in women. I don’t know if I have blocked tubes of course but castor oil packs and massages can help with this. So I thought why not. It has lots of good effects such as increased blood circulation and removal of scar tissue. I did my first pack yesterday and will do it again today. Up until I ovulate. I want to try the fertility massage as well but I need to do some more research.

Suzy I loved my massage! I did have a blocked tube but that was fixed with surgery. But even after my right side always hurt and felt like icy hot on it(very weird) So I decided to do that instead of acupuncture. And I don't know if it helped or not but I think it did. It was kind of emotional too. She started it just by holding my head and told me to get focused and think about my baby and pray for it and and for your marriage because it takes a strong marriage to raise one. So I did and almost started crying. I had never met the lady and dh was there so I just kept it in. I still can't tell you why I felt this. As for the research, I didn't find much. I just felt like my body needed it. So if you find any please share!

I'm so glad you are feeling so good this cycle, Beagle! I get to trigger tonight at 6 and then iui on Wednesday so I'll be one week behind you! Hopefully I copy cat your symptoms and we end up with babies!
I am so bad about drinking wild cherry Pepsi. So I am stopping now for good. My husband is trying to help me eat more protein in my diet. I love bread and pasta and don't love meat so it's been tough. Right now I load up on scrambled eggs and Greek yogurt. Then I eat at least 6oz of chicken. I don't need to lose weight but I want my body more lean. We have a gym room in our house so I've been doing squats. Lol I look ridiculous and my whole body is so sore after barley anything.
I was pretty bummed out all week so my husband took me to baby stores and....we bought a stroller! Plus a cute little car seat! The stroller is pretty awesome. You can an additional seat to it in case I end up with two. Or in case I do this all over again next year. : / Then we obsessed together about a nursery and bedding and bottles...oh my! He's so great. He even researched the best breast pump. He totally made my weekend. I used to dread all of my injections but I'm super excited to trigger tonight. Does the iui feel uncomfortable at all? I had a procedure done a couple months ago and they put a tube like catheter through my cervix. It made me cramp up some so I was thinking of taking some advil beforehand.

I love looking at baby things. We also have a stroller. It is Eddie Bauer...I am not a huge name brand person, but it is about a $300 stroller we bought for $75 new at Target on clearance! I am at the end though as far as what I can buy before we know the gender. We also have a consignment store called Once Upon a Child. I love it. We bought a baby carrier there...you know the strap on one to carry baby around. I don't have any other major purchases besides books, clothes, oh & a nice wooden sign that says something like Don't let the bedbugs bite. I also found the What to expect books in Goodwill stores & yard sales. By the time the baby comes, I won't need anything for a registry!

Some people will say not to buy things because it could be upsetting as the months go by. But I think you have to know your own self. For us, it is therapy to go to BabiesRUs. We talk about cribs, bedding, decorations. We talk about breastfeeding or formula...cloth diapers or regular. It makes us excited.

The IUI is probably going to feel similar to your other procedure. I had major bloating from the trigger, so don't be surprised if you feel uncomfortable tonight. I was also pretty sick to my stomach from it. No major effects from my 3 IUIs with the gyno. My 1st with the RE was super painful at the time...I blame the nurse. Because the dr did my last one & I barely felt it. Will feel similar to AF cramping. But my last one (& you will be in this boat) I took the day off to relax. Well I needed it to recover. My body was so bloated from releasing extra eggs. Every step I took it felt like my ovaries were bouncing around. So I went home to lay down the rest of the day. Also since you have more than one egg, you may want to BD the night of or next morning of IUI...the other eggs could be coming along after the first one releases.

Did you have another u/s today or they just said to go ahead & trigger? It's exciting!

Oh & are they putting you on progesterone? I am on progesterone, so I can't really rely on any symptoms I think I have because the P will cause the same thing to happen.

I did a trigger last month during all of my cyst drama. I hated how bloated I felt. I felt like it lasted a week! None of my shorts would button up and I was so angry. Now I welcome it if it means being done with these shots every night. All of my injection sites are so itchy. Even the bruised ones. It's so weird. That is exactly why I bought the stroller and car seat. They were both put together on Saturday and they had too many on the floor so they discounted them! That stroller is normally 500 and we got it for 350! Plus, it can be used as a double so I felt safe with the purchase. I agree, it doesn't make me sad about anything. It totally picks me up! My last u/s was Saturday so he said to just trigger. I asked him if I should come in for one more u/s today and he smiled and said I've been doing this awhile and I think you're gonna be ready. I want to try to BD later in the evening the same day but I'm sure I'll feel gross. So maybe the next morning. I'm really excited to get it over with so I can wait. I'm not sure about progesterone. If it helps though....I want it!!
