Also need ideas for key worker at pre school for my son :) thanks x

Hi! I'm a teacher so I have come up with things I'd like to receive as a guide lol!

There's also a lady on Facebook who makes gorgeous cards called Katie's Shed - you could buy a card and a framevto put it in too- my friend did this for her daughter's first birthday and it look s lovely!

Or flowers always go down well!

Teaching assistant wise - some kids do give them gifts, others don't...some give them the same as they give the teacher, most give them a smaller gift.

Hope that helps!

I'm going to send in cupcakes. You can get toppers off eBay. I cant afford big gifts so will be doing personalised ones for each teacher earl mentions.

Or, if you're crafty a homemade gift is always a good idea- one of my favourite ever gifts was a handmade cushion. Pinterest has some great ideas for canvases/art work and pencil pit holder using crayons!

Another of my favourite ever gifts was a nice scarf from new look - it was just my style 😀

Mrs_t do you like receiving chocolates or get sick of the sight of them? :flower:

Was thinking of doing sweetie jars. Getting cheap jars and cheap pick n mix then getting lucas to make the labels.

I got these for DDs teacher and 2 TA's:

Last year at pre-school, we gave large mugs with 2 candy canes, a £10 Starbucks voucher and warm fluffy socks. Very well received!

This year, I have no idea!

Starbucks voucher is a good idea! Wonder if they do a £5 one? I don't mind some chocs (ie nice ones like lindor) but do get a LOT of chocs- sweets however, I don't tend to get and I'd provably rather them! The thing I always get most of is smellies, which personally I'm not a fan of...they either sit unopened all year or get regifted  but that is maybe just me?!

Also ladies, here's a secret...teachers LOVE stationary - nice pad and a pen is a good idea (we love lists too!)!

My SIL is a teacher, and says the same, she gets too much chocolate and would prefer cookies, etc, and too much smelly lotion type stuff and ends up regifting it because she doesn't use it. So at least those are helpful tips to me, lol, when looking for what to buy preschool teachers this year!

I'm thinking I might do mason jar gifts, of cookie mix, and a starbucks gift card.

The jars are a nice idea. I'm a teacher and anything homemade is much more appreciated IMO. This is a good site, you can get plain bags and get LO to decorate. https://www.bags-n-aprons.co.uk/product-category/bags/
Or this one https://thecleverbaggers.co.uk/
Xx

As a teacher - my fav present was a tree decoration also good were the homemade ones

I give - chutney/mincemeat or Christmas flowers this year I am going to try and make some felt decorations.................

I always find out in advance which wine (red or white) and choc's the teachers like/prefer and that is our gift a bottle of wine and choc's which so far has alway been a big hit 💞 x

OMG I must be so stingy. I have NEVER given DS1's teacher presents, not even at the end of the year :haha:

I'm a teacher and my favourite things to receive are definitely homemade gifts. I feel so proud being able to show off someting that a child and their parents have taken the time to make for me :cloud9:. My favourite Christmas gits I've received were home made mince pies, salt dough letters which spelt the word Christmas which the child had painted and a lovely notebook.

My lo attends nursery. I was thinking of getting his keyworker a personalised present and sending in biscuits & chocolates for the other staff. Is that ok? I dont want to offend anyone but he really likes her and I cant afford to buy an individual gift for everyone.

I make cupcakes, it's easy and thoughtful and not the same flowers and chocs they usually get

Xx

I normally make cupcakes and take those in and then get LO's keyworker a voucher or some nice bits LUSH
