The Northern Ireland Crew!!

£25 a month does sound expensive! im dreading applying for nursery,on saturday my news feed was bunged with people talking about how their child didn't get in where they wanted

im not looking forward to it either! there's so many things that increase your chances, like relatives at the same nursery/school, proximity to the place etc etc.

We got in where we wanted tbh, but I just hadn't realised there would be so much extra £££ involved. I'm a bit green when it comes to these things! Ah well.

Went down today to leave in her enrolment form and fee. They offered me an afternoon session 2 days a week from mid April - June. It wouldn't be funded, but would get her into the swing of things.

Are you going to go for that then debs? TBH - I didn't know you had to pay extra as well! x

I think we probably will. It's £5/session so isn't going to cost that much more than her snacks will for the morning sessions in Sept.

that's awesome u got her in where u wanted debs! i should really start scoping out the ones in our area!

I didn't send my two big ones to nursery. I couldn't part with them! lol. I did apply for my 1st as I thought they had to go to the pre school year and he got his funded place in downpatrick (we live in bangor!) I didn't send him to any in the end though. Ill definitely bit be sending my girl either

i really want pops to go to nursery! for me, i think it's important to get them used to that school enviornment. each to their own though!

Congrats Wyntir he is gorgeous!

When Alex went to Nursery he was full time and had to pay £10 a month for his snack along with other funds for like zoo, farm, Jo jingles, Mr Hulaballoo etc which were between £5 - £15 every couple of months or so. I got free dinner for him being on child tax credits but I think for working parents it was about £10 a week? We had to provide a wash bag with babywipes, toothbrush, toothpaste & a box of tissues.

I think I also had to pay a one off fee for school fund which was £10 although I think that might of been P1 I can't remember lol!

Madison had her Griffiths test today! She done really well in her locomotor, eye & hand co-ordination & performance areas of development but her personal-social & hearing and language area she didn't do so well on, which I knew she wouldn't anyway! The specialist mentioned she has signs of Autism but as she is still young she would like her back againin 6 months time to assess her again and of she hasn't made any progress in those areas she will be referred to another specialist. She's also getting her a hearing test done and wants her to keep going with the speech therapy.

She also put her name down for educational psychology for when she starts nursery next year just incase she may have Autism and will have learning difficulties. Not sure what this is about as Madison was grouchy and crying at this point, I'll have to read up on that.

I only drop in here every so often but I always leave a full essay! LOL!!

I guess it's good news then that they are keeping a close eye on her!

Great to hear Madison got her test and scored well in a lot of areas :), glad they are keeping an eye. Always nice to hear from you, I enjoy reading your essays! x

Aw thanks Emydra, they said I'm doing the right thing by getting her checked now rather than later, I just went with my instincts when others kept sayin she's lazy or she'll talk eventually! I keep wondering what her first word will be, so odd that she will be 2 next month and hasn't spoken 1 word! Alex's first word was 'ball' at 11months and could recite the Alphabet by 2!
