The wedding from hell! UPDATE!

ok, so here it is in a rant form...

as you all know i WAS due to get married on 15th august 2009, and was looking for a dress. so heres what happened next...
we were so pleased to have a date finally set that i went straight down the shops to get bits and bobs to start on the invitations in this picture theyre unfinished...

Then richard and i went ring wedding hunting, we found our rings theyre these ones...

they're both matching, couldn't find a pic on the net of the matching set.

well after going into every single dress shop from here to china!! (or so it feels like it) i have found THE DRESS...
(though mine has a sweetheart neck line)

i have ordered it in ivory, and i'm having to pay for extra beading to match the groom and wedding party.
i am having swarovski crystals added as i refused to have plastic beads added to a dress thats costing so much! (i am sure you would feel the same)

so now instead of paying £800 my total outfit...
dress,
bolero,
tattoo make-up,
shoes,
veil,
tiara,
jewellery,
=grand total of...
£1,500


when our dress budget was £300 grrrrr
so now i have had to borrow money off my dad who because of this threw a hissy ... and said...

"i am working on your wedding day, (even though he owns his own business!!! ) and your obviously trying to give me a heart attack, i want to enjoy giving you away. not rush to get there and then run off back to work. i am trying to buy you a house! and all you can do is piss money up the wall"

throws a grand in my face and walks out! i was in tears, my perfect day was ruined, i wanted to cancel the whole thing
Richard comforted me, he's the bestest!
my mum was even telling me to cancel, but i said NO, he is not ruining this for me...

so i went down the dress shop the next morning and was measured up and paid my deposit for my dress which will be ready by the end of july.
i felt alot better at this point!

so... richard rang the church and changed the date to.. 26th september 2009, but its at the same time as the original date.. 3pm so, i can still do everything that was planned at the right times.

my dad then called...
i told him the date had been changed, he then said...

"thank you, so much for changing the date. is there anything you need?"
i was so pissed off!
i had to ring the photographer, jester and the... DJ (even though i haven't yet booked a reception)

i will keep updating this thread to let you all know whats going on! i know a few of you are interested but so much has happened to tell you in the chatroom, im scared my fingers will drop off...

these are the things i still have to do....

wedding party suits,
reception decorations,
order of service booklets,
cake,
TJ's dress,
bridesmaid dress,
bridesmaid present,
bestmen presents,

UPDATE...
dad just phoned me, said the hall he wanted was booked and that he asked for the 15th august just incase???? WHAT??? so does this mean he was lying all along??? OMG I CANT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS HEARING!!!
deep breaths deep breaths...
ok so now i am on a mish trying to get a reception! OMG, theyre all in bournemouth!!! i am not enjoying this one bit! i want my im so stressed she has disapearred. x x x x x x come back

UPDATE...
ok so i have bought a pair of shoes for the wedding, they match the cravats and the swarovski crystal embelishment on my dress and the jewelry and everything else.

i am thinking.. i can teach myself to walk in heels. yeah right!
i have never felt my muscles pull so much in my calfs, i can walk up and down the hallway about 5 times before my feet feel like theyre gonna drop off! and my legs are gonna SNAP! (bearing in mind this is the first day)
i can stand in them for an hour. so i am hoping to make these times longer everyday by practicing, walking, sitting and standing around the flat.

my MIL to be has given me a book "How To Walk In High Heels" by camilla morton.
Have any of you read it?

the reception is now booked, but my dad is kicking up a stink about the car park area and whether or not they serve coffees and teas for drivers.

Wedding budgets go way out of control. We set £400 as a budget and now we're looking at about £3k doh!

There are ways of keeping the cpst down and that suits me and my OH perfectly but I know its not for a lot of people but if you want any advice or anything drop me a line and Id be happy to give you links to websites and stuff that Ive used for sticking to our budget, or at least trying to!

Your big day will be perfect dont worry!

I laughed when someone said to me 'Set your buget and then double it' its actually spot on!!

I went from wanting to hire a dress to wanting to buy a £1300 dress, luckly I found one nicer for £700.

Didn't want a wedding car as they were too expensive - I now have it booked

I wanted an M&S wedding cake - I'm now having one professionally made

Its just one thing after another - as people keep saying to me - 'you only have your dream day the once!'

Also, keep in mind a lot of parents don't help their kids out, so at least you were able to get some help, right? (Trying to think positive lol ) My parents didn't help us pay for our wedding. We didn't ask for their help, but I figured they would considering we're both relatively young (I was 20, turned 21 a month after our wedding... now almost 23! and DH is 26... he was 24 at the time). I was also a full-time student. Whatever... we didn't ask for their help and everything came together beautifully!

just my tattoos on my arms and my back, i have to order some special foundation for scars and tattoos, i don't want them on show because i think tattoos should be hidden in church.
