My Familymembers - Just because Sophie is a bad sleeper during the day doesn't mean I've spoiled her! I'd rather have her have a good nap on me and her being happy for the 2-2.5 hours she's awake after than that she has a bad nap when I lay her down and her screaming after 30 minutes of being awake because she's still tired! She's my baby, if I want to hold her, I'll hold her, she won't be in my arms forever!
Dad - When Sophie is crying and I recognise it as a pain cry, don't dismiss her and say it's no use picking her up because she won't stop crying anyway when I hold her. Then after 20 minutes of me holding and rubbing her and you hovering around us agitating us both and three massive burps and two gigantic farts later, pretend that you are the one that solved the problem!
Grandmother - Just because Soph is really frustrated because in her head she can do more than her body will let her (sitting up, crawling) and her crying because she can't do these things but desperately tries doesn't mean I shouldn't help her sit up, it won't spoil her!
Stepmum+sister - Breastfeeding after 6 months isn't disgusting and vile. I will hopefully make the 2 year mark and I'll be very proud if I do! And neighbour of stepmum, I won't stop now because there's 'no need to breastfeed longer than 3 months'. Get off my case!
Whole family - I'm not feeding my baby yoghurt or soaked bread or rice or nothing yet! She's not even 4 months, there's no reason to do so, she's thriving on my milk!
Family again - It was a lovely 10 days visiting you in the Netherlands, I love how you all dote on Sophie and I can't wait to come back with her in January, but please respect my parenting choices and don't pretend you know what's best. You've seen her once or twice since she was born, so I'll raise her how I see fit and will go completely by her cues. I love you all, but I'm the mummy now, not the child anymore!!!
Myself - Stop worrying that it might be a bad thing that Sophie finally took a dummy. She's been going to sleep without crying for several days. You can face the getting rid of the dummy when the time is right for Sophie!
Yay, it's good to be back!
