Things I cannot say out loud....

Me too, except asshole is now trying to put all this pressure on her and she's still pregnant. If he cared, he wouldn't be doing this to his child :nope:

YES!!!! He tries to run away :( I wasn't ready for this so soon! :(

Stupid ass! I know, they just want to explore, but it seems they're not babies for long... :( :hugs:

MIL - I have no problem with you coming round this pm. But be warned. Pud is supremely grumpy and has been since thursday. She is teething and still unhappy after her injections on wed. Please do not sit on the sofa crying because she is unhappy like you did last time, or you can go and cry at home.

Pud - I'm assuming its because your teeth hurt that you are refusing to nap more than 45mins, or take more than 4oz at a time. I know it's sore sweeteie, but please start drinking more so Mummy can stop worrying.

House - why do you need hoovering so much?? And where the feck have the cleaning fairies gone??

How bizarre... My MIL cried at Jens injections...
Hope pud feels better soon, it must be horrible. And if you find those darn fairies, send em my way please!

She always does it. If Pud's upset (which isn't that often, granted) she starts crying going "Oh, I can't bear to see her crying...." Drives me mad. If she doesn't like it now, wait til the "terrible two's"!.....

OH said to me the other day "Do you want my Mum to come with you for her jabs?" Now I actually love his Mum to bits, but I'd rather remove my eyeballs with a spoon, and pickle them in vinegar than have her there while LO screams.....

MIL - No Sophie doesn't NEED different tastes than milk. I've decided to wait till Christmas to wean her. That also includes water/juice/teething biscuits. I on't know if you've noticed, but she's thiving on my breastmilk and there's no reason to give her anything else. Just because she likes the taste of Infacol doesn't mean she has to drink juice.

I wish I wasn't such a wimp and could say this out loud :haha:.

OMG! The taxi driver/friend of ours last night kept saying to put rusks in Alex's bottle  and since she had a 26 year old son (who still lives with her, by the way) she knew best about parenting! :growlmad: RAGING!

Why why why are people OBSESSED with weaning your baby?!!! It's really weird! It's so much easier to just breastfeed them, why would you want to hurry weaning? I just don't get it! (obv barring medical needs) they've started on me now too! Piss off everyone! I want to BLW, so delaying it til Jennifer is ready. Off to buy a highchair today. :happydance:

I want to do BLW too! Hubby is fine with it (he's fine with all decisions I make for Soph) and I've told my mum/MIL that I don't want to feed her purees, but let her feed herself and don't mush things up. But MIL keeps coming up with ideas for purees she wants to make her for Christmas and what juices she will drink then. And I'm like.. She'll still be breastfed at 6 months and I'll be building up the weaning slowly, not straight away on 3 meals a day.

I just don't get the rush. My stepsister has started weaning her son, he was born 3 weeks before Soph, but he was 8 weeks early. I can't imagine started weaning Sophie 5 weeks ago. She's thriving on milk (weight wise, not sleep wise :haha:) and is only going longer in between feeds! It just makes me so annoyed that people keep pushing me to feed her and I'm not awesome enough to tell them where to stick it :growlmad:.

Luckily I've got my HV behind me, so I'll just blame her :haha:.

I've started to quite enjoy telling people where to stick it! Lol. Every time someone mentions purees I say, in a singsong voice "no purred food thanks" then ignore them!

I do TW with Corrine..but if you want to BLW your babies... who the hell am I to try to force you to do something different?

Tell these people to stuff it and do what you want to anyway.

Exactly! I just quite fancy it, but if it doesn't work out for us, its no biggie, ill TW. it just annoys me that people are so "she's 17 weeks, wean her!" Um, no, there's no rush.

Ahh as soon as DH knew she could be weaned he tried it. We did a couple days but after the first it was on me to feed her so I stopped and waited until I was ready. Also at that point I gave her sticks of hard veggies to play with and she loved it. By 5 months I was giving her avocado and other thingsto play with and by 6 months se would spit purees out! Now its all real food or she's not interested. I'm happy that I didn't give in at 4 months. I tried it and it didn't feel right. The easiest way for me to get out of it with DH though was to literally stop feeding her myself because he had no follow through with it so after less than a week of trying it we were done

I wanna do BLW but my mum is adamant that I'm gonna choke him and that he needs purees for a few weeks first which is pretty much TW anyway :dohh: If I have any different opinions that differ to my parents I'm apparently just being ridiculous and refusing to listen as always. It's not like I haven't researched these things, I'm not gonna hurt my son! :nope:

We TW....kinda. Tbh BLW scares me. That and my baby puts nothing in her mouth lol. But she gets a mix of baby foods, and just foods off our plates. She's had lots of things that a year ago I would never have dreamed of putting in my 7 month old baby's mouth. She loves venison, and mexican food lol. and bananas. And goulash. I just put bite size pieces in her mouth, cuz she won't lol. She'll sit there and bawl cuz she has cheerios in front of her but she won't put them in her mouth. :dohh:

Exactly! You do what you want to do!

I just decided to try this way because little miss Sophie wants to grab everything and put it in her mouth and she's really independent. So I think this style will suit her!

Who am I to tell another mummy to do the same with their baby!? Everyone should do as they feel is right for their babies!

Exactly. I don't even really see it as I TW or don't TW or don't BLW or whatever. I feed my kid, that's all that matters. She eats mostly 'regular' food, some purees. She eats baby cereal cuz she loves it and gets pissed at me if I don't give it to her :haha:

Oh yea, I'll feed her whatever she likes! If it turns out she likes mushed up bananas, she'll have mushed up bananas !
But not at 18.5 weeks old!! :D

Haha. We weaned at 18 weeks due to reflux (she's 7 months now), but that was because she wasn't keeping anything down! And all she had was a bit of cereal in the mornings which helped settle her stomach. Other than that, I couldn't even tell you when she has what, except cereal in the mornings. Today so far she's had infant cereal, some of my banana, some cheerios, a bottle.

If it wasn't for the reflux I wouldn't have weaned til 6 months at least.

I do Maria led weaning so sometimes she gets spoonfed if she's feeling lazy and the rest of the time she feeds herself. Sometimes she even has a jar! (like when we were moving and none of us ate all day but she had to eat something of course). And she begs for our food even when she's already eaten, she's like a little dog :haha:

Also MIL says I'm not allowed to feed cucumber to Sophie as apparently it gives people wind?
How can something that's 99% made out of water give people wind?
I really want to find out if this is true!

What a load of bullshit :dohh: Cucumber is a good finger food for BLW because it has a skin which allows for better grip  Your MIL is a fanny
