Anyone have any good suggestions for good toys for very young babies??

At the mo we only really use the baby gym and sit and talk to her. I also like to play classical music to her. She enjoys looking at the dogs too.

Obviously she gets stimulation when we go out too but what other things can I do or use???

:D

Cot mobile is great for entertaining,Lola loves hers.
Her playgym(as you mentioned),the toys on her bouncer and swing.

I think she started liking Mr.Rabbit at that age...
She has a mirror she enjoys really much :

And last but definitely not least, she is permanantly attached to her music box( I call it that way,it's not really a music box),she hardly ever leaves it,it almost as having a second kid for me

It's similar to this one, except it's hardly attached to the crib because I have to carry it along everywhere! *I love Ocean wonders products just to say*
It's for 1 month old babies so I'm hoping that she grows out of it once she gets her jumperoo for Christmas because I'm getting sick of that music already :dohh:

I was in the same situation last week and realised that she needed a little more than my ugly mush to entertain her so I went out and bought:

V-tech Lullaby Lamb. She really likes this. It has three different music settings for different moods (slightly annoying for parents though and a couple of the songs are horribly out of tune!). It also has lights on it which she seems to like.

Jingle Bells. Got these at ELC. She loves the sound they make. In fact, I'm going to go and get some other hand instruments. Cymbals, Triangle, Maracas, that type of thing.

A couple of little rattles to wave at her.

She's also got some dangly stuffed toys made with lots of bright colours which DH takes delight in waving over her head when I am changing her.

She also likes me to sing to her. My current reportoire includes Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Incy, Wincy Spider, This Little Piggy, Pat-a-cake and If You're Happy and You Know It.

Thanks Amy - she has a mobile but she's in a moses basket so these toys that attach to the cot arent being used yet :(

We have a mirror on the baby gym

and a mirror in the car.

Thanks Jemima - I sing to her quite a bit too....not sure she's too thrilled about that....

God, I know. There's no wonder our neighbours give me the evils whenever I see them! They must be more than a bit fed up of hearing me yelling "wee, wee, wee, wee, all the way home"!

There are only 2 things Josh interacts with a the moment, we read some research that newborns respond well to strong contrast black and white images, we got this:

Tiny Love Double-sided First Book: It fits to their cot or pram and on one side has black and white images and on the other colour. We've only tried the contrast images so far and he could stare at it for hours, and can also be used for tummy time. https://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Toys/Books/Tiny-Love-Doublesided-First-Book(0010119)

Faces (Baby's Very First Book) From Macmillan Children's Books. Again strong contrast images.

Art for Baby: Similarly this book uses contrasting images to help brain development (although it's not a toy) - also gives money to NSPCC.

For Christmas, I'm looking at:
