True Blood!

 @ Sookie's impersonation of Bill saying her name. :haha:

P and I both nearly died laughing. :haha:

Okay, saw Ep2.
Fun!!!!
Yes, I loved the "Sook-eh" moment, too. I really love it when a show has a sense of humour about itself. :haha:
I am very intrigued by the plot twists now. Shameless speculation:
Totally trying to figure out what happens next for a few sub-plots:
Tara? I have a guess, but that character would be from book 5. Hmmmm.
And without the pretext for kidnapping Bill that was present in book 3, I'm curious to see how all of the Sookie shift away from Bill and towards Eric will happen.
I must say that I am not sure that Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard have quite the same chemistry as she and Bill do (can't remember actor's name - have not yet had enough :coffee: ), but I still am rooting for Eric. sigh.

I think that the new vamp/Tara thing is exactly what you said.

Im gonna have to guess that Sookie & Eric spend the next little while searching for Bill and she develops some sort of feelings for him.
OR
Was the scene in E2 where bill throws whatever that was at Mirena (his maker) and she burns real or a dream of his??? And im guessing if it was real then the fire wouldn't kill her so maybe if she's there Bill and her get together and Sookie finds them? and leans on Eric for support?

I also am curious about what Lafyette is gonna do to get rid of all the 'V' and what happens to him. I love his character so i was glad they didn't kill him off in season 1 as the books did but i wonder how long they can keep a story line for him when there was none in any of the books to feed from.

I knew I should have started reading the books!! I got the first one as a gift for my birthday, but Ella was born shortly after and I never find the time to read anymore :(
I always wondered how closely the show actually followed the books...

Sarahkka and readynwilling, I think you're both right!
I love the series but sometimes it's hard to just watch because I read all the books before...anyone else find that?

Not only was there that new vamp/Tara thing that I expected much later in the series but also the introduction to Hotshot. Didn't Calvin come a little later in the books? And is anyone else a little annoyed that he's made out to be a dirty drug dealer? That's the impression I got anyway!

Trinitydm: In my opinion the series doesn't follow the books to closely. Some things are made the focus point in the series when in the books in was just a little sub-plot etc... I thought the first season was somewhat close...but the more the show went on the less it was like the books I find.

By the way, if you all like supernatural/vampire type stuff...might I suggest "The Gates"? It just started this sunday as well...it's like a Desperate Housewives meets vampires/werewolves and witches!

xo

Mamabird - is that a TV show or Books? Im looking for something new to read. Im excited book 10 is comming out but i need PAPERBACK i don't do hard cover lol... maybe i should ask for a kobo reader as a bfp present! lol

Readynwilling: The Gates is a TV show that just started! But I will PM you regarding books! :-)

I'm pretty sure the vamp is Franklin... although I was confused as in the books he's considered as "distinguished" and older, no?

I am DYING for some Sookie-Eric action. :haha: I like their chemistry better. At least she's consistant with Eric, whereas it was annoying to me where in the first season she was all "I HATE YOU BILL COMPTON" then two seconds later they're going at it on the ground, bed, cemetery, wherever.

I think the actor's name is Stephen Moyer. They probably do have good chemistry as Anna Paquin and him have been dating for awhile now.

Yep its Stephen Moyer. They are acutally engaged. Does Annas teeth bug anyone else. I mean i know it adds to her charm but i just wanna reach through the tv and tell her to get em fixed!

:haha: Yeah her teeth bothered me at first but I kind of like how she's refusing to fix them to blend in with Plastic Hollywood.

Unless she's waiting for TB to finish?

Thank you!
Stephen Moyer!
That's his name!
And yes, they are engaged, apparently. I think they have better chemistry on-screen, personally. But Eric is just so tasty, does it really matter? :icecream:

Tiff, I thought about Franklin Mott, but this actor is the physical description of Micky. And as Micky was a violent, thug-like bad-ass, I think they are concocting a storyline in which he taps into Tara's anger and figures out how to control her that way.
I love the casting and setting for the King of Missisipi, Russel Edgington. The blood feast was hilarious. "Excuse me, I have to go drain the second course"? Blood gelato?
So far no sign of any fairies. And they are supposed to explore that whole "Sookie is more than human" sub-plot from last season. Wonder how they will do that?

love it i just watched the first two episodes of series 3 online and it is still amazing

I've seen the first 2 episodes as well, do they air every sunday over there?

They air every sunday on HBO in canada and the US. I think they reair them on tues or wednesday night too.

I watched the 1st 2 episodes of season 3 online last night and I must say that I prefer it to season 2 already!! There are some things that seriously annoy me though!
The Sam's family sub-plot really gets on my nerves. I don't mind adjustments to the plot and I appreciate that some things need to be changed for TV but there's no need to alter one of the base premises of the world! In Sookieverse only the first born child of a completely shifter couple is a shifter! This means that if Sam's dad isn't a shifter then there is no chance that he could be a shifter and regardless Sam's younger brother wouldn't be able to shift! Of course, we could find out later that mama Sam was sleeping around but for now this particular sub-plot is just wrong!
All I can say to 'Operation Werewolf' is huh? It could make for a great plotline though so I'll give that one a chance! So far, from what I can gather it's going to be one of those ways of explaining why vamps and weres hate each other that TV bosses seem to love so much!
Calvin Norris, and tbh Hotshot in general, is just wrong, horrendously so!
Franklin Mott isn't quite right. I don't like what they've done with that character!
I love how Eric is more, well, Eric-like in this series! The writers seem to have sorted themselves out there and have given Alex more good material to work with! He's wittier and sexier and conflicted about Sookie, which is great! I particularly liked the bondage scene, but then naked Alex Skarsgard is a very nice sight!
Russell Edgington is good, though not as I imagined him. I like Talbot too. They've got him absolutely perfect! I don't like that they have Russell talking about marrying Sophie-Anne though! He's far too completely gay to be compfortable with it! Female vamps in general wouldn't even make his long list of potential marriage partners, even in the formalised vamp sense!! There's no way he could deal with 100 years of no close male bed companions! :dohh:

I've just read Dead in the Family too. I loved it! I am quite disappointed though that what they've already shown in season 2 of True Blood means that, even if they're able to make 10 seasons without the money disappearing, some of the best parts, and indeed half the plot, just cannot happen!

Beca

totally agree lmao... one thing thats annoyed me, is that in season 2 we found out that godric was erics maker but yet in the book series its Appius Livius Ocella.... seriously is there any need lol x

Mmm naked Eric *drools*

Nazi werewolves did make me life though. And Blood soup infused with rose petals :haha:
