True Blood!

Anyone know when season 3 is on, I watched season 2 at the begining of the year (got it from USA) but getting inpatiant for the next lot, I know its started over there so might have to get it from there again.

And Eric is way hotter then Bill, he just seems old and zombie looking to me.

I just stream it online every week, too impatient to wait for it to air here!

From what site?

the very first episode i watched i though oer it was a bit steamy but it got better.
definitely has to be eric. bills a bit of a wuss

i fast forward it cz i dont have any time to see it today ....yuk!! yuk!! yuk !!
way too much blood seans for me... why is season 3 soooo bloody ??.... i know some like it and can handle watching it but right now its a major turn off for me....:-(
but besides that ....... i just have to see whats gonna happen next to poor sookie:dohh::dohh:

anyone know a good site where i can watch ep 3 and 4 online i jsut cant find them anywhere i managed to find the first 2 but im having no luck at all now :(

Ah, now you see I prefer Eric's backstory in the books. Eric just doesn't strike as quite so flighty as his show backstory has him. He always seemed to have an ingrained sense of duty, despite pushing the boundaries occasionally, and that seems very much at odds with the True Blood course of events. I also just can't see a Viking cheiftain having that much patience, even with his own son. He couldn't be seen to be weak and to allow defiance, which is what he was doing, as that would put the village in danger and his position from much closer sources. He wouldn't be trusted to lead if he couldn't keep control of his own offspring.
That said, seeing Eric in leather and fur with that mane of long-ish hair was just delectable!

Conflicted about how they presented Claudine. I love that they introduced her but im not sure i like how they did it. I need for her to come into the "real world" we never saw her in fairyland or halfway to fairyland in the book.

I like that Sam rescued Tommy. I think that was a good 'extra' from the show.

Also like how the the whole Bill/Sookie thing plays out similarly to how it did in the book as this leads the way to ERIC!

I'm conflicted on Claudine as well. For some reason, I always pictured Claudine in the books as the character who played Maryanne in the series. For some reason she seemed to me like she'd be a great fairy. :haha: Better than a Maenad that's for sure.

Anyways...

Yeah, I'm hazy with remembering how Claudine comes into the picture in the books... and Eric seems to know that Sookie is a fairy now, which I don't think he did when him and Sookie started getting closer? :nope:

i agree with the look of claudine, in the books she was always portrayed as a sexy woman that attracts all the attention of everyone, somehow looking like that i think if she walked into merlottes everyone would be like wtf! lol x

I don't think Eric realized she was part fairy in the books until the whole Nial thing started... I can't remember when that was though... Sookie had long since met Claudine though.

Its funny every time i see an episode i feel like i need to reread the books... although i like the series for what it is. Im glad its not a carbon copy of the books - but it is nice to have a one up on the show lol.

It was when they went down to New Orleans to sort out Hadley's stuff and she met Andre that any of the vamps realised that Sookie's part fairy as Andre could distinguish fairy taste/ scent especially easily. That was in Dead as a Doornail, I believe. I'm pretty sure that Sookie didn't meet Claudine until Dead to the World in the books anyway, so True Blood's already ahead of itself if they're introducing her now!!

I hate that they've given Sookie extra powers in the show! Eric especially wouldn't have been quite so overprotective if Sookie could produce an energy blast with enough power to throw a Were/ vamp halfway across a room when she's angry or scared!

Okay, I have to agree with whoever said that the show was starting to get a little heavy on the gore factor. That scene last week with Tara biting the Franklin Mott character was way too much for me. I had to hide my eyes!
I have been a fan of the show and the writing, but the last two episodes have felt like there is just too much going on. I think the show needs to drop a sub-plot or two. It could also just be that I am very pregnant and don't have a lot of brain cells left to process all these complicated plot lines? :)
I was also disappointed in the casting of Claudine. Actually, the whole dancing fairies scene was pretty lame for me. In Sookie's world, fairies are quite dangerous. Maybe the show writers are going somewhere else with the fairy stuff, but it seems a bit fluffy right now.

Finally finished Dead in the Family!

 Not sure about it.

As a Sookie/Eric fan, I have to say having them exchange the "I love you's" was a nice moment. I was glad for the lack of Bill as I don't overly enjoy his character.

Now for the big "but".... BUT....

It seemed drawn out. It really didn't get that interesting until Sookie and Jason went to the Were meeting to find out what happened to Bhasim (sp?) and then there were only a few pages to go when Colman was revealed. It left a lot up in the air (IMO) and there's no mention of another book?

I liked that Caroline and Bill finally had their moment of finding out their ancestry, and that Caroline was okay with it all. :)

Yeah, just kind of ho-hum until the end of it.

I believe that Charlaine Harris has a contract for 13 books with this publisher, so there should be at least another 3 to go. At least that's what's been going around the SVM fan forums for the past few months.
Personally, I enjoyed DitF. As I believe I've mentioned before, I really liked the Eric/Appius plotline and the introduction of Alexei. I also found the extra revelations about vampire structure interesting and I liked the stuff with Hunter. Admittedly, I found the subplots a lot more engaging than what I can only assume was intended as the main plotline.
To be honest, Laurell K Hamilton has done something similar when it comes to leaving a lot of things up in the air and completely unresolved in her latest novel, Bullet, which is unusual for her as everything's usually so very neat at the end of each novel except for the main story arc!
