Trying to conceive #1 Buddies!

Aw nice to read Sophie - Sticky dust to you!

I agree Trr lets shake the thread back up :D

I would actually like to get to know some of you ladies better, so c'mon favourite guilty pleasure songs / films / places to go or holiday plans / things to eat / have you any pets? (Its also going to help me remember you all especially the new ones :p

I feel like I'm a 16 year old girl when I say I am just in love with justin beiber's music right now. That is my deep dark secret.

I have a cat. Had a handsome dog that we lost in November but we are on a list to get a new one in about 2 months that we have been patiently waiting for. He will be a 8 week old German Shepard and I can't wait to smother him with love.

hehe tell us about you too magic!

trr - justin beiber - so funny. I feel like a 17 year old boy because I think Selena Gomez is so hot  lol so I can *kinda* relate. :haha:

I'm more into classic rock (though I love a ton of stuff). Queen is my all time fave band!

trr - so sorry to hear about your dog  My dog is my world. She really is my child and I tell her that she will always be my firstborn. I've had her since before I met DH and have always wanted another but he's never been on board. He said that if I wasn't pregnant by the start of 2016 that we could get another (I have all this love to give to SOMEthing!) and so we've been looking. I am looking for a very specific (breed, gender and age) rescue so no luck yet but hopefully we find the perfect fit soon!

As far as holidays, we just postponed our yearly trip to Phoenix to visit my brother. The dr finally scheduled me for an HSG as well as a post HSG appt to discuss that both fell on the week of the vacation. It couldn't be pushed back either because it needs to be done right at the end of AF so I'd have to wait a whole cycle. DH and I thought that wouldn't be worth it. So maybe we will go in April now - would have loved March and escaping this awful weather! I have some other trips planned throughout the year too but we are always travelling. I guess get it in while we are still childless!

Not sure when I o'ed this month. I think FF is wrong due to my pos opks after that day. but at least my temps are showing I def O'ed and the confusion is helping me not to obsess since I don't even know what dpo I am. just trying to look ahead to next month and getting the test and hopefully some answers along with it!

Favourite guilty pleasure songs are probably anything by Taylor Swift (I'm more of an alternative music lover). Favourite films are the Hannibal series. Going on a cruise NEXT WEEKEND, and I still haven't packed! We're going to Jamaica, the Bahamas, Mexico and the Grand Cayman Islands on a surprise cruise from DH. I've also got two cats and a dog; Rhoe (Schroedinger) the female cat, Riley, male cat and Alice, female American Hairless Terrier (look them up, they're adorable).

omg ab - your dog kinda looks like mine now (a min pin) but I had to look it up because the next one we are getting is a chinese crested. also hairless! I love those dogs - soooo cute. most people can't stand them lol

My guilty pleasure films are Ever After and The Mummy. I guess my guilty pleasure for music is Lana del rey or dubstep. Love waking up to that stuff.

For vacations, we love going international (we're saving the local stuff for the kids). I studied in France for a year and travelled all over Europe. He studied in Chile and travelled all over South America. I'm fluent in French; he's fluent in Spanish. Since our engagement, DH agreed that I get my adventure one year and he gets a relaxing beach the next. Three years ago, we hiked Kilimanjaro and went on a safari to the Serengeti, two years ago we honeymooned in St Lucia, and last year we did the Galapagos and backpacked to Machu Picchu. Iceland and Everest base camp are next on my adventure list. This year the adventure was supposed to be a baby :( but I'm thinking mb we can plan something relaxing afterall.

We're big foodies. We're adventurous with our food and drink. We also love cooking/baking. Our dream is to move to the mountains and open a bed and breakfast one day.

We have three furbabies. All quirky rescue cats. DH's has epilepsy. Mine has 25 cigarette burns all over her body from her previous owner when I brought her home. The third we adopted together. She wouldn't eat or drink and would just shake in fear. I'm a behaviorist, so I came up with a plan to help the two with histories of abuse. Happy to say they're both doing well and thriving now.

Magic - please do tell us about yourself too!

I'm severely allergic to dogs, luckily DH had our dog from before we were together. As it is I still take Reactine (prescription dosage) every day! I couldn't imagine a life without her,

I sometimes listen to nsync or Britney when feeling nostalgic of younger days :) traveling wise I am really into scuba diving. I've all to many different places for diving like hawaii, Oman. Galapagos, Mexico. But you can't dive while TTC so will be trying to pick that up as soon as I'm done with babies hehe.

I used to have hamsters and want to have them now but Dh is not so keen. But once we get some kids I'll be getting them hamsters for sure.

How about you magic?

OH. MY. GOD.

You all know how wonky my periods have been, well it was acting up again and my hormones were going absolutely crazy. My forehead is covered in pimples and I'm six days late. I figured I'd take a test just to rule out pregnancy. Nonchalantly, I set the stick down, washed my hands and just glanced over and there were TWO LINES. TWO.

HOLY SHIT.

amazing!!!! that's such great news!! congratulations!!!!! :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance::baby:

Ritter! That's amazing. Congrats to you!

Thanks guys! Somehow it doesn't feel real. I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and test and it will be blank... I'm not sure what will be a more convincing "YES" than a positive pregnancy test... Hubby and I are going to get and expensive one after work and test again.

Omg congratulations Ritter! Haha I had the same nonchalant moment because I'd seen so many negatives.

Good idea. The digi definitely helped it feel real to me. All the best!

My husband and I went to get a FRER at the store after I got out of work. I peed in a cup and the FRER produced a nice pink double line :bfp:. I guess it's for real! I still have about 25 cheapies in the bathroom- what a waste. Maybe I'll just keep using them to ensure things are progressing until I can get in to see a doctor.

The thing I can't get over is the timing. It's so ironic. You all know that I was starting my new job and putting TTC on hold and NTNP more.. Well this past cycle we only had sex once and I thought I'd timed it so that I wasn't ovulating anymore, since I wanted to skip this month. I'd had tons of EWCM for about three days, and then I waited another two days before BDing. I guess that goes to show you that there's something to be said for the relaxing method. I couldn't be happier that we are going to be filling up our house!:happydance:

It's also good because I'm a planner and a worrier, and if I were to choose the "right" time, it may never happen. I'm glad the universe chose it for me!:cloud9:

I plan on staying around here, rooting everyone on! I have spent quite a bit of time with you all and I want to see all of you get your BFP's!

That's so exciting Ritter! Congratulations! Have a happy and healthy nine months!

Ritter - I had a ton of ICs left and now most of them are gone. My lines progressed beautifully, and yet here I am. Try to let go and just celebrate every precious day. The next few weeks before your first ultrasound are going to be longer than any tww. There's really not much to do but take care of yourself and hope for the very best :hugs:. I'm so very thrilled for you, and I can't wait to hear your happy, healthy updates :)

omg ab - gorgeous photo!!! have so much fun on the cruise!!

Thank you bee! It pays to have a photographer for a husband haha. One week and counting to cruise :) really can't wait.
