Trying To Conceive #1 Only Vent Thread

Yeah, I completely understand what you mean. I'm looking forward to being able to finish a days work, go home, and have nothing to think about. With uni you're constantly like, come home, do this piece of coursework, read up on this, and then when you're not doing it, you feel completely guilty!
I'm thinking about returning to uni, although I've left my applications a little late :haha:
So I will probably wait until Sept 2014 before going back. I'm thinking about a MA in social work, which is two years full time
I'm a glutton for punishment I think! :haha:

Yeah, we've been once before in 2008. Really enjoyed it, I'm mostly looking forward to the junk food! Pretty sure I'm gonna come back about 2 stone heavier :haha:

Ahh, I hope wherever you do go you have a lovely relaxing time... holiday BFP maybe ;)
Have you got any thoughts over where you want to go?

You could probably still apply for a course if you wanted to, I've known so many people that've gone through clearing, sometimes one week before the course begins! Although, I don't blame wanting a break before beginning another few years! You're going to be super qualified!

I love holidays, they always provide the perfect excuse for some terrible eating habits! I LOVE italian food, all that pasta and ice cream! I came back from honeymoon a good 5-10lbs heavier (although I was eating cake for lunch...:haha:). We're possibly thinking about France, Greece or Canary Islands. We don't want a long flight, so sticking to closer destinations (although we'd love to fly to Australia and Thailand one day). I have so many places that I want to travel to!

There is still one course open which once my exams are over I'm going to write a personal statement and go for it. It's at a university which is literally 5 minutes walk from my house too! :cloud9:
(which ironically isn't the university I go to now! :haha: )

What would you like to do postgrad if you decide to go back at some point?

I have terrible eating habits anyway. But America has so much bad food that you simply can't get over here (or costs a fortune!). Ben and Jerry's and Lucky Charms for breakfast I think ;)

The long flights aren't too bad, particularly if you pay a little extra and go with a good airline. Myself and DH went to Thailand and Dubai for our Honeymoon, we went with Emirates and the flights were amazing! We both said once we'd got to Thailand (which was like 12 hours) we would've happily stayed on another few hours to get to Australia, it seriously went by superfast!

Thailand is so beautiful! I'd recommend everyone to go there :)

Well CD107 today and no af... argh. Side note though my husband is taking vitmins to help boost his spermies! :) so hopefully before the end of the year I can finally start having regular cycles!

I hope you get accepted! It'd be really handy living so close to the uni.
Postgrad wise, I have no idea what I'd like to study. I'm currently studying wildlife management and conservation, so it'd be linked to that in some way.

Breakfast was my favourite meal of the day in Italy. Continental breakfast all the way! So much pastry, jams, fruit...It was practically a lunch too! One morning I ate 10 pastries

We travelled with British Airways and it was horrible. Delayed by 3 hours, all the BA planes had faults. Plus they lost my luggage on the way home! Definitely fly with a different airline next time. Think hubs and I will slowly travel around the world! Honestly, I'd pretty much love to visit everywhere :happydance: Which part of Thailand did you got to? We originally planned to go to Koi Samui (spelling?).

Good luck in whatever you choose to do! Have you found a job for the time being?

Gosh, your travelling sounds terrible, I think BA tend to try and make themselves look really good, but often they're pretty rubbish! Particularly when compared with Emirates and Qatar Airlines

It would be lovely to travel the world... oh to be rich, eh?! ;)

We spent 3 days in Bangkok and 7 days in Hua Hin (on the coast). Both were really amazing! Bangkok is really busy, vibrant and exciting... where Hua Hin is very rural and laid back.
The hotel we stayed in was amazing, it's like an eco-hotel and they're really well known worldwide...

Here we go again. AF is one day late. Boobs are hurting so bad around the nipples. I just don't know. Man. I only post in this thread anymore.

The problem with ttc is you do more research then your sanity needs and it ends up conflicting while watching shows. Grimm's episode had a woman give birth from water breaking to kid being born within 2 minutes. My DH laughs every time I point out inconsistencies of tv about anything related to ttc or giving birth yet in the back of my mind I'm just shaking my head as to how either easy or unrealistic tv makes it seem.

I hate how in movies the woman's water ALWAYS breaks randomly and they have to rush to the hospital and the baby's born right away. Most women have contractions first and take a while to dialate and the doctor has the break their water manually! Out of my moms four labors I was the only one whose water broke on its on and that was by accident. she threw up and when she leaned over her stomach hit the side of the bedrail and I guess the pressure from that caused her water to break.

In fairness that can and does happen

True, just funny they make it seem like: *BAM* water just broke..oh by the way, even though your water just broke not even 2 seconds ago you're crowning. It does happen but would be cool to see a show that makes it a bit more realistic because those cases are pretty rare. I know it's hollywood but some realism wouldn't hurt would it? :haha::haha:

Haha yeah but the movie about the 26 hour labour with no progress wouldn't be much fun either :-)

Darn!!! another baby announcement with pics on FB now!!
This cycle, I am still wondering if I ever Oed, because, I dont see clear thermal shift, and people are announcing their second child!!!
life's unfair.

:witch: showed up today...one day late and after a cruel evap line on my blue dye test! Meanwhile, the pregnancy announcements are coming in left, right and center, many for #2 already.....friends who have irregular periods, who weren't trying, who played Russian Roulette etc. The same friends who tell me to just 'look if my CM looks like eggwhites and then it will work' or 'try not to think about it too much'. sigh.

Enough venting. :drunk: and some sushi in the next week (yay) and then trying again. I bought some fertilaid and pre-seed for the first time....maybe that will give us the boost we need. We did not prevent for a year and this will be our 6th cycle of actively trying. Fingers crossed. I just never imagined not getting pregnant in 1-2 try's....our friends, society and school made me think it happens in a heartbeat!

Thanks sweet_18! I hope you got your O this month and your BFP is on it's way! Sure glad for this forum...no one in my 'real' life either knows about us trying to conceive or gets it. You ladies are keeping me upbeat!

Thanks. :flower:

Well, I officially lost ALL respect for the blog STFU Parents. The blogger basically just shamed fundraisers for adoption or ivf costs and and I quote "Parenthood is opt-in. Diseases aren't." Basically going with the infertility not being a disease. I'm sorry but we did not opt in for infertility! Infertility chose us. I wish anyone who does not know about infertility would STFU!

That is a perfect example of Ignorance is bliss. Pretty sure if there was a choice then most woomen would check the fertile option!!!!!!

This is the post in question that made me really lose any respect for B. Fair warning, anger inducing:

The opting part I originally posted it as what the real meaning clearly is but this is the real quote "What about the people who raise money for fertility treatments? Does it make a difference if someone raises money for a different medical expense, like a wheelchair, or cancer coverage, or a necessary surgery? Does “opting-in” to a scenario, like parenthood, distinguish what’s appropriate from what’s inappropriate?"
