but assiciating formula and rat poison? how is that ok?And wobbles has guide lines here even some breastfeeding ones get removed to. yet some find the term artificial offensive but not saying rat poison and formula. weird.

The differance is in saying somthing is and somthing is not.

LMAO  I was looking for a picture of a monkey in a sombrero and found this!!!

Yeah, we know, she just came on but she's removed it anyway

Exactly, so I don't cause offence to anyone. Like I said, it's that easy.

Your right, it's so easy to stop doing something when it causes offence. Pity a few others on this thread couldn't have the same attitude as you.

You got a long way to go yet but just skip to the end, it all gets repeated every 10 pages or so :)

oh and just to add i feel special i got thanked by wobbs :coffee: i have too much time on my hands

I would like to go somwhere next summer when LO is 1. I would like somewhere not too hot, with a pool and where you can walk to a little village or somewhere with nice authentic food.

Anyone any suggestions? I was thinking Malta as we have been before (myself and OH) and it seemed like a nice family place.

I had an 'artificial' birth too ....

I think people are missing my point!!! I would never use that term, no one does I don't think. I'd say formula milk. I am GENUINELY curious and no one has stated properly why it is upsetting ... for those of us that don't find it offensive, it feels a bit odd to be censoring what we say without fully understanding what it is about it that is upsetting? Why is it not nice? Why is it upsetting? I really want to know :(

Also, YOu are expecting individuals to censor what they say, which makes total sense, why would anyone deliberately want to upset anyone else. But it doesn't make sense if we don't understand why we are censoring ourselves if you know what I mean?

My point about the petition was .... It is NOT a term that most people use generally, individually. But if it is a medical term, or an official term, why should the authorities get away with using it? Fine, we can censor ourselves individually, no problem. What's the use of doing that, and of continually sniping at each other individually, if the wider authorities are still using it?

I know its going round in circles! I like being dizzy lol. For some reason I feel I really want it resolved lol (though it probably would never be).

Sorry to trundle this up again, but I had to go to the Post Office and was trying to think of a decent comparison that wasn't going to start ww3 so here's an example:

When I was a teen, my Mum insisted on calling my 3 sisters and I sluts when our rooms were a mess. No matter how much we told her it upset us, she would insist that the originally meaning was slovenly and therefore she could use it. We all know the meaning of the word has changed, but she refused to give in. Literally only her last visit this summer have I been able to explain how upsetting it was for us.

Ok, so the meaning of artificial hasn't changed, but do you get my jist??

I have never ff but I automatically cringe at the use of the word artificial milk, so I can understand how it's upsetting. As I said many many pages ago artificial milk is the only term available in Italian for formula and I was taken aback when I first heard it, I still refer just to my niece's "milk" rather than say latte artificiale.

Southern Switzerland :) It's normally sunny and hot but you can either be by a lake or up in the mountains so not too hot. Food is scrummy.

Or Italy.

We always go on beach holidays but next year with 2 los I'm going to insist we either go into the mountains or to the Dordogne or somewhere.

Both sound lovely. We are just back from Italy and I was saying I would love to go to the Amalfi coast next year. Is that family friendly does anyone know?
