I know it's only good for 24 hours but is that from when you take it out of the freezer, or once it's fully defrosted? Also what is the best way of defrosting it? x

It's from once it's fully or mostly defrosted.

The best way depends on when you will need it. If you need it ASAP, then submerge the milk bag in lukewarm water. It will be liquid in about 10 minutes.

If you need it for the next day, you can put it in the fridge and it will slowly start to thaw and you can use it when ready.

I usually do the submersing in water method, or a mixture of the two. :)

I agree with susannah14.

I usually thaw my milk in warmish water and in the fridge. It'll be liquid in less than 2 hours :)

Agree with PPs. Also notable, when I was sending previously frozen milk to daycare (had to send premade bottles, couldn't send it frozen for them to defrost) I would put the frozen milk into a container with cold water in the fridge the evening before. It would be thawed - or sometimes a milk slushy - by morning and I could pour it into bottles, but keep if from being warmed until she was ready to drink it.

Brilliant, thanks ladies. Gonna start using some of my stash soon
