Welcome to the 'Two Week Wait'

Hi there
This is my first 2 week wait and I am going nuts! I am about 4 dpo now and this morning I am feeling a bit queasy and slightly dizzy, but maybe its just nerves? I have no idea what I am supposed to be feeling right now!

Another Susan!! :)

:hi: Susan! Welcome to them TWW! I hope this one ends in a BFP for you! :)

At 4DPO, it's a bit early to be feeling much that could be pg related. But in a few days, there could be loads. ;)

The egg takes about 5 days to get out of the fallopian tubes and implantation can happen anywhere from 6-12DPO. Your body produces more progesterone after ovulation, which does cause a lot of symptoms on it own, whether you're pregnant or not.... When the egg implants, the amount of progesterone increases and can cause more symptoms. But right before AF, you might notice more symptoms too. A pos hpt, is really the only way to tell what's causing the symptoms. It's tough, but the best thing to do is to make a note of how you're feeling each day, so if this cycle isn't the one (though I hope hope hope it is), you'll know what to expect.

Feel free to symptom spot here and join in! :)

Whoa, this thread moved fast since yesterday!

Awww, you guys are the best! I feel so loved :hugs:. Back at you!:hugs::friends: I will post proper in a bit, but thought you'd want o know the latest. I know a line is a line, but I still seemed to only feel "a little pregnant" getting faint lines. So after 1yr & 4 mos TTC (& my recent diagnosis w/MTHFR!):

Drumroll please.....

AFM: The trip to the doctor was uneventful...though better than I had imagined it being. I've got a blood test on Thursday...but only to check my iron and thyroid levels, as the past few days, my hands and feet have been freezing and I can't manage to warm them up. I wanted to ask why she couldn't slip a pg blood test in there...

But she told me that their office policy is two missed periods before a blood test, which is fair enough, because this could have been a fluke AF and she'll arrive right on schedule at the end of the month (Fx she won't. I'm tired of her showing up uninvited and DH and I have been BDing almost every day again..so maybe this time it'll work). DH was also fine with this, which surprised me a bit, since he was the one majorly pushing the blood test. I mean, he got really pissy when I suggested waiting until the end of the month, but I guess if it comes from the doctor, it must be right. :dohh:

The visit was actually pretty positive....but then she told me that they also suggest waiting two years before they start medical intervention. I stared at her. I think my eyes bulged and my mouth hung open for a minute. TWO YEARS!?!?! No way. I'm not waiting that long...a year and a half at the most. And only because DH wanted us to start the count over. It's been 9 cycles, but he wants the official count at 4 cycles. I know some people go much longer, but I've had this idea that if it didn't work out, that there was some relief in sight...something that could help push us toward our ultimate goal...I've been more hopeful that it will happen sooner than later lately, but I'm still wigging out at the thought that I might have to go an additional year without any change or any help. Hopefully it won't come to that, but omg...two years. I think that's all I got out of that visit. I can't even remember what she said after that....lol.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! *squeeeeeeeeeeeel*

Pregnant!! So awesome! I am so so so happy for you, Lil! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Of course, you'll have to stay around and keep us updated...and show us some tickers!! :)

Welcome WishingforDust - what do you mean "missed your cycle by 1-2 weeks"? If you miss your period 1 day its time :test:!!!

Welcome Susan_MK - hope your stay is short & sweet! 2WW is rough but these ladies are fab & will help you get thru it. I agree, at 4DPO you shouldn't have any true preg-symptoms because implantation is from 6DPO - 12DPO (typically). Its tough because your progesterone rises whether you are preg or getting your period (argh!) If you aren't temping/charting you may want to start - GL! :flower:

P.S. - The only thing that tipped me off this cycle was the Implantation Dip (although I got one both at 6DPO & 9DPO - it was determined :haha: ). But it's only found on 20-25% preg charts so its really NOT NEEDED to be preg & is more rare than standard. Also you can get one & not be preg...

Woo-hoo Lils - how wonderful to see "pregnant" on your test - you really really desearve it - thanks for all your support! So happy for you, keep us updated!! XXXXX

Wendy – Thank you! I’m trying to stalk your chart but no temps last few days? Did yo uov yet? Are you doing IUI on ov day THIS cycle or next? FX you are to follow!!!! Come on, let’s start a “trend” on this thread! :dust:

Sarah – Thanks honey! Yes, I’m with Ella – bring on the TEARS! It is never shameful for a woman to use her assets to get her way! away!!! (I’d totally do it in a heartbeat!) Hope you are doing OK & feeling better?

Laura – thank you – I’d love to be bump buddies! I’m really hoping & praying it sticks. I caught that MTHFR AFTER ov so hoping it was enough (to put that MTHFR in its place! :haha: ). OMG, I just saw - HAPPY 12 WEEKS!!!!

JW – Awwww, thank you honey – you are so sweet crying for my BFP! I hope you get your :bfp: soon, too! I could have sworn w/your implantation dip you had it… I think you were really close!!! Not that you can rely on them 100% but that seemed to be a big sign in FF when I went to compare my chart to others (80% that actually had an implant dip in FF was a BFP). But again, you totally don’t need one.. FX – looks like you are ov’ing today/tomorrow – catch that eggy! :dust:

T2BC – Thank you for ! Uh-oh, temp dipping at 11DPO again?! Get on it girl (no pun intended :haha: ) :sex:! FX & :dust:

Gemmy – Thanks! I see you have 5 days til ov – catch that eggy! :happydance: Hope you are getting moved in OK – do as much as possible before ov so you can be as stress-free as possible during 2WW (if you can!). FX!!!

Lilly – good luck tomorrow!!! :flower:

Ella – 2 YEARS? No, F that! I’ll do sep post… (Thanks again for wishing me well!) :hugs:

Gosh BNB is soooo slooowww today!?

AFM – doing betas this afternoon & will find out tomorrow. FX! I’m not out of the woods yet. I’ve had 2+ mc’s from this MTHFR gene mutation & apparently it kept me from implanting ALL THIS TIME (MTHFR!!!) :grr::grr::grr: So now, the fear begins. I am being relaxed about it but I am worried in the back of my mind. If you guys don’t mind I’d like to hang here & stalk a while! Not just bc of my high-risk preg, but bc I also SO WANT TO BE THERE WHEN YOU GET YOUR BFP’s too!!!! :hugs:hugs::hugs:

Lil- OF COURSE you have to stay around. We want updates and u/s pics and bump pics..the works! :) (And your unwavering awesome support.) :)

Laura- OMG! 12 weeks already?!? The time is passing so so quickly. Happy belated plum day!! :) :happydance:

Hello everyone,
I am currently in my 2ww. Be trying for 3 years. AF started 28 March. Started first round of 100mg clomid April 1 till April 5. Had HSG done cd10. BD cd 12, 13, 17,18. Got pos opk cd18 am and negative pm. Strong cramps the same day in late afternoon. I have normal periods 27-28 days and always have cramps on left or right side every month around o. This month my cramps were all over (front, back, and sides) I also used preseed for the first time this month. Now I just wait.. When should I test?

Ella - Aw, thanks of course I'll be supporting you guys the whole way!!!

OK so for that 2-year thing, when they said "medical intervention", did she just mean ART or testing too? Because the standard here is 6 months >35, 1 year <35 for serious intervention (clomid, then up; I forgot how old you are but I believe you are pretty young - 28?). I can see them telling you a year, but 2? Argh :nope: If you have had a mc (& espec if you had 2+) AND seem to have trouble conceiving, will they at least do a blood panel on you (hormones, Immune Level 1, Immune Level 2, etc?). I wasn’t sure if you had just that 1 mc or if you had any before that.

Well, I would only wait 1 year & then start banging down their door. I hope it doesn't even come to that & that you get pregnant NOW. But, if it did come to a year, you could have a hormone issue or some immune issue that you can't possibly get pregnant with? NOT saying you do, but I just don't want you to waste too much time trying & trying & trying if it actually comes to that (learn from my mistakes!). If you really want to get the tests, just lie & say you had 2 mc's if you have to! :haha: (Totally, i'd do it!) Here is what I had found for a friend in the UK, but the tests, risk factors & protocols for getting these tests are supposed to be a standard in the medical field (its not just mc's but certain medical issues, etc):

https://www.fertilethoughts.com/forums/immune-issues/378398-immunology-risk-factors.html (a couple links don't work, but a wealth of info just on this page)

https://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=82741.0 (is a few yrs old so may be addl clinics in UK, but this is a start)

Not that you need these tests (above) now but just save for later/keep in the back of your mind "just in case" (& posted them for any other ladies that were interested). But I'd lobby for hormone tests now, if you can somehow. (Tell them you are getting night sweats or something they can't readily see :haha: I’m a bad influence, sorry. :nope:)

I’m glad you are getting some tests though! Let us know how you do & how your tests come back :hugs:hugs:hugs :flower:

Baby, welcome to BNB & the 2WW!

If you ov'd on CD18/19, then your cycle should be longer than 27/28 days this time. Is that when you usually ov with 27/28 day cycles? Wow, 3 yrs, you poor thing. Do you temp/chart too?

With the BFP stats, I usually don't test before 12DPO, but some can't wait so its really personal pref. Some people don't mind BFNs while others get really upset. Just if you want the highest stats of a :bfp: then wait at least until 12DPO - 14DPO.

GL :flower:

I normally ovulate on cd14 but I think the clomid and hsg might have made me o later.. I do not temp I just use opk.. I go tomorrow for day 21 blood work..

I normally ovulate on cd14 but I think the clomid and hsg might have made me o later.. I do not temp I just use opk.. I go tomorrow for day 21 blood work..

Ahhh, I got you. HSG gave me a 43-day cycle so it can definitely throw cycles off! So, CD30 or so on the tests I would think. If you've been trying 3 years now, maybe you want to try charting? Its not very hard & you can discover a wealth of info about yourself?

Temps are almost everything when TTC - you can see when estrogen surges, progesterone rises, and of course the LH surge, the day you ov (& more), all from temps. It told me 1 of 2 days my :baby: implanted - how cool is that? I thought it was silly before I tried it & then I actually stepped back & started putting 2+2 together & figuring stuff out. A lot of us have "My Chart" links in our signatures if you want to check them out...

If you have any questions about it just ask & GL tomorrow :flower:

My dh is military and the doctors havent wanted to do anything until we go to this new base. Bad news is he is deploying in June. If we dont get a bfp by then I guess we will be waiting till Jan for something new.

I'm so glad you'll be staying around, Lil. :)

And as for the two year thing...She said that the office policy is to recommend that a couple try naturally for at least two years before the doctors start getting involved and do testing because it (pregnancy) is not something we should rush into.... (Rush into? If it's taking over a year, I don't think there's any rushing involved. I tried to tell her this, but as soon as I mentioned we were trying, I became the crazy TTC lady in her eyes...that might be why I thought she was nicer. She went into patronizing the poor crazy TTCer mode.) :haha:

I am with you. F that. I am 28, but they can't really expect me to wait two years if it comes to that. In 6-8 more months, I'm going to be like, give me the Clomid, stat.

I had thought the one year rule applied here in the UK too, but maybe my doctor's office is weird. And I can't register with a new doctor unless we move. They're kind of the only game in my part of town. But I'm not going to wait 2 years. Since I've been with them so long, she knows when I got off the pill, so I'm stuck on the time, I suppose. I think my only hope would be to get in on one of her days off and see the other doctor, who I saw for my mc. He seems a bit more sympathetic and his bedside manner is a lot more inviting. I bet I could sway him if I needed to. I would totally turn on the waterworks if it got me closer to a BFP. lol.

But you're totally right. I don't want to wait and keep trying when there's something wrong or something completely fixable that I don't know about. Though I can't even get answers now, so I'm dreading what it might be like if I don't get a BFP by next year.

Thanks for the links. I put them in my favorites, so if I ever need them (or a friend does), I'll know where to look. :) Not sure what the policy is on multiple mc's. I would hope that they would investigate after two. I've only had the one that I know of. I wouldn't know about any chemicals, because I don't test until AF is late and I've only had two cycles where she was late...and my AFs are always super heavy. But if they're really sticking to the two year thing, I'd totally make up something to try and sway them. I'm not above it, I'm trying to conceive here.

And feel free to be a bad influence on me anytime. ;)

Still smiling from that pregnant digi of yours. :) :) :) Totally made my day.

Awww Lil, seeing the word "Pregnant" made me smile. So happy for you!!:hugs:
You deserve it. How long have you been TTC? Praying for a sticky bean for you honey. Try not to stress. And let's see a ticker!!!

AFM, my temps are all over the place, from taking Clomid this cycle. I finally got a "peak" on my CBFM today, which means I am ovulating soon. DH and I were going to do an IUI, but we thought we would try one more cycle natural. We are hoping that with the HSG, Clomid, and his good sperm results, that maybe this one will be the BFP cycle!! Here's hoping!

I am CD 17 today, which means I will probably ovulate tom., CD 18. So my cycle is going to be a long one this time....32 days at least. I think taking the Clomid days 5-9 made my ovulation later. But that's alright, at least I am ovulating. DH and I did the deed last night, going to do it tonight and tomorrow.

Hi to all my ladies out there.:hi:

Hi ladies! Its wonderful to meet you all! Im Jess! Need some advice if anyone cares to share!

So my husband and I had intercourse on 04/12. My estimated ovulation date was 04/15. On Saturday 04/14 I had a huge glib of jelly like clear cm when I wiped after using the restroom. I have never had this before not even at the time of ovulation. But since then I have stayed "wet" and even need a pantyliner.

Other than that I haven't had any real symptoms. In fact just the opposite. Ive had more energy than normal and I love getting up to go to the gym and eating healthy(which is not me at all) The only other thing ive noticed is ive been having more frequent headaches since "the glob". So I don't know but I'm not jumping to conclusions just yet. We haven't been trying but we haven't been preventing either.

Also I am now estimated 2 dpo.

Almost forgot... I slept all day yesterday! From 12pm to 5pm then was up for an hour then when beck to sleep by 6pm and slept til 810pm. Odd for me lately since ive been so energentic and last few weeks been awake by 10am and would stay up til 12/1am with no nap....

Hmmm...

Go Wendy! Get that BD in there! :) I hope this natural cycle is the one, and I think it very well could be with that combo of HSG, clomid and of course sperm!! ;) Keep us updated!

I kind of feel like I might ov soon, but I'm still pretty crampy/twingy...still no idea what's going on but if my body squeezes an egg out soon, we can TWW together again! :)

Hi Jessika!! :hi: Welcome to the TWW!! I hope this one ends in a BFP for you.

That glob of jelly was most likely egg-white cervical mucus (EWCM) and it's very good to have lots of because it's the kind of cm that makes it easier for sperm to reach the egg. And having it right before the day of ovulation is great. It's not really a symptom of anything, it's just what your body produces when it's feeling fertile. The more, the better.

The wetness that you're still feeling could also mean that you're still in a fertile time and ovulation might not have happened just yet, so I would keep up the sex (BD) until you dry up down there or at least for a couple more days, to make sure you're covered. Are you temping or using opks to figure out when you ovulate?

The headache is probably due to the changing hormones in your body. It happens around ovulation for a lot of women. And the tiredness yesterday could also be due to hormones. The progesterone your body produces after ovulation can cause a lot of symptoms that women associate with pregnancy, but it can be just because of the hormone surge that you feel that way.

At any rate, 2dpo is still early for symptoms. The egg takes about 5 days to get through your fallopian tubes and then implantation can occur from 6-12DPO, which is when you'd really feel the symptoms due to pregnancy.

Glad to have you here in the TWW! Keep us updated!! :)
