Welcome to the 'Two Week Wait'

Thanks for the support, ladies! I won't give up just yet!

I thought this was my month too, especially with some of the symptoms I've had, but alas, I did get my temp dip this morning. AF hasn't shown her face yet though, so I guess I'm still in until she does. I've checked a couple of times, but all I've got is CM so far. I fully expect her to come tonight (she's more of a night owl than an early riser)...But some of my AF symptoms went away again, which is odd, but I can only think that my body is playing games with my mind. Stupid body. So I'm in the wait and see portion of my TWW....

DH's attitude has been great this month though. He told me that this is the first month he'll actually be disappointed if AF shows up, since this is the first month he's tried. Then he tells me that we should start the count over, so that this would be our first cycle TTC (apparently all those months of me trying on my own don't count :haha: ). But he's been really positive and wouldn't let me wallow last night or this morning and so I'm feeling more positive. Even now, he keeps saying he won't believe AF is going to show until she actually comes and he doesn't believe my temps. :)

So yeah...I'm still hoping AF is going to stay away, but I'm going to try not to be too disappointed if she does come. Keeping the fingers crossed! :)

Lil - Yeah....I've been better about other people getting pregnant since I found out my SIL was preg. I took that one the hardest. But my step-sister has two other kids, so it's a little bit of a surprise, but not surprising, if you know what I mean.

Good morning ladies! Well, temp went down again today... boooooooo... I feel like it's a slow death (haha). I know I'm not fully out, I know they don't have to rise if I'm pg, but I feel like if I DID catch the lucky eggy, they wouldn't keep going down... and I've googled, and often ladies' charts look like this before AF shows. Sigh. Oh well, I will just keep waiting to see! Thanks for your kind and hopeful words Gemmy, LilSluz, etc :flower: it really does help, I feel discouraged very easily.

On a side note, last night I dreamed I was a mom to a baby boy named Moses, but half way through the dream he turned into a cat... lol.

LilSluz, no I don't mind you asking me at all :) I have had my throid checked, a couple of times, and it's totally normal. I work for a family doctor, so I've asked him if I should have further testing because my bbt temps are low, and he says the sensitivity for the TSH test is really high and if it comes back normal, it's likely that I'm normal :) I have worried about the low temps before too... I guess it's just me, and also I wake up early at 5:30am so that probably accounts for some of the reason why they are all low-ish. I hope you feel better soon! I think Benadryl + Netflix sounds like the perfect combo :flower:

:hi: and welcome Summer ( I was just recently commenting on how much I love the name Summer!).

Thinking of all you ladies, let's get some more BFPs on here soon!!!! xo

ps - ohhhh LilyRose I hope this is it for you!!!!

Lillyrose

Your chart looks really good!!! FX'd for you!

Thanks srrhc!! My feelings are all over the place this morning. One minute I feel like I'm still "in" and the next I'm telling myself "I'm out"

I felt just like that with i got my positive result, i was sure af was coming , then another day passed and i thought i maybe did it, then i thought i was out again and i got a negative at 13dpo with an early response test, was sure i was out and had af pains, and the next day got my BFP on a cb digital , i was so shocked! i wish you lots of baby magic dust!! fx its your month xxx

i also tend to have low temps (always frustrating as a kid as id be sick as a dog but my temp wouldnt be "high enough" to be a fever). i dont do temps though (bought the thermometer and that was as far as i got, not good at doing things everyday, and forget "paperwork") . thyroid is normal.

bah crampier now than i was with the hsg. didnt think it hurt at all despite her being unable to get the catheter in, but today. ick

is this positive yet ? Thanks in advance this my first cycle with OPKs

Not yet. but REALLY soon! Line has to be darker than the test...

yes I agree - line must be Equally dark or darker than the control line - I would say you are a few hours away though - test again in 12 hrs and if it's lighter than the last one you then you know when the positive arrived.

ok i will test again this evening If this is positive then the last few cycles I have been guestimating ovulation way to late!! that would explain ttc for 11 months with no luck :/

I know exactly what youre talking about w/low temps & how you never get to that point of what Dr's would call "the fever" (100+), but at 99.5, theyd say "its nothing" (but Im starting out at 96.8 here!!! Thats like saying 101 isn't a fever for normal people!)

Hope you feel better. Yeah, my HSG was like 20+ mins bc they couldn't get it in & then they blew me up in wrong place so I screamed & jumped - tilted uter. That was after everyone told me it was nothing & would take 5 mins.

oops - I meant "control line" on my post. Benadryl.... Thanks for clarifying Dashka :flower:

Posey - glad to hear you had it checked & all is good - whew! You are an early riser! I'm usually 6am.

You aren't out of the game at all -still lookin good, girl!!! Don't lose hope for baby Moses yet...

Hi ladies. Sorry I’ve been sick w/some allergy/sinus/headache/nausea crap lately so it finally knocked me down this week – off last 2 days sick. But, I’ve been trying to keep up anyway:

Gemmy – I’m having hard time telling when you ov’d – could have been CD19 or even CD20 bc of those temp mini-steps this cycle? FX for you! (I'll be checking up)

Hey Lil. Funny I have really bad sinus probs too. The cold i had is just lingering with snot and pains across my forehead and under my eyes - yuk. So I'm just taking sudafed and eating malteasers whilst catching up on here :)

Hope you feel better, sounds pretty rubbish :(

I was thinking maybe I ovulated CD18 or CD19 as they are the same temp and both slightly lower than CD17 when i got the smiley. If I don't enter the +opk FF gives me broken crosshairs for CD9. Thank goodness I know it wasn't that early.

Your chart is looking fab :) GL

Hi ladies. Sorry I’ve been sick w/some allergy/sinus/headache/nausea crap lately so it finally knocked me down this week – off last 2 days sick. But, I’ve been trying to keep up anyway:

Dashka – 9DPO – you will be w/us in 2WW soon! Big hugs to you my little Canadian naturopath! So wise w/so much great info (i.e., Maca, etc)! I’m going to copy from other post the Maca info so 2wwrs have it too. New thing for me to try next month! (if I have to, that is) Maca is a nourishing food for the endocrine system, aiding both the pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid glands (all involved in hormonal balance.) Maca has the ability to affect key hormones in both women and men without containing hormones itself. In women maca has been shown in studies to help regulate estrogen and increase progesterone (if that is what the body needs). In men It has been shown to regulate estrogen and increase libido and sperm health.

Gemmy – I’m having hard time telling when you ov’d – could have been CD19 or even CD20 bc of those temp mini-steps this cycle? FX for you! (I'll be checking up)

Posey – you aren’t out yet - #’s still look great! Can I ask you a question? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want, but have you ever gotten tested for thyroid? Just wondering from the avg low temps. I’m getting tested myself next week. I just know 10 yrs? ago my blood came back fine, but since my temps were so low they still diagnosed me w/hypothyroidism & I had to take synthroid a while. I’ve been fine ever since, so must be a borderline thing, or I just deal w/it, but runs in family so getting tested again (this time, they have more tests like Free T-3 & Free T-4 & opposite of those, instead of just plain old T-3 & T-4)… I don't wanna freak you out bc there are other reasons for low temps. Just noticed that & wanted to ask (better for you to know than not know rt? & its an easy fix if it was hypothyroidism)

Ella – I really thought it was your month too! Don’t you just love getting news of pregnancies when TTC? Yeah, me too…

Summer & Hopeful – GL to you this cycle!

Lillyrose- I agree it ain’t over til fat witch shows her ugly face! I think Wondfo sticks have some of best success rates & are only like $6 or so for like 50 of them – Amazon.com. FX for you – some +HPT don’t show up until well after AF is already LATE…

babyE – way too early for symptoms & testing – start at 12DPO if you “must”. GL –

SarahA – so glad for peach!

Srrhc – if you want you can post your chart & we can look at it for you. We love charts. We need to get out more often (lol)

Hoosiermama – I LOVE your logon name! Congrats to you! Your scan looks more like a baby than I’ve ever seen? Wow - cool

Hi to Laura, Beaut, DansW & anyone else I missed!

AFM - I finally got my crosshairs today – yay! CD19 I ov’d & I think I tined the BD very well. My Chart is now in my signature. I’m officially in 2WW. I’m going to go take Benadryl now & lay down & watch Netflix. I’m thinking: being sick isn’t all that bad?! Off work, Netflix & drugs – what else could one want out of life? LOL (trying to cheer myself up bc I hate being sick – sorta working)

Lil - hope you are feeling better soon! you are so funny! I'm not a naturopathic (that would make me a doctor)... I'm a Reg. Holistic Nutritionist...(not really practicing anymore - more of a hobby now)

Re: the thyroid thing - that is a very important point... If you have "sub-clinical" hypothyroidism (borderline) a lot of doctor's don't consider it a problem at all..but it can be for fertilty...(especially maintaining a pregnancy once pregnant) My TSH was a little high- like 2.3 or something last summer and my ND was concerned (I think she said it should ideally be under 2.1 for fertility) although my MD didn't think it was a problem. My MD did find a small nodule on my thyroid about a year ago and sent me for tests (we've been keeping an eye on it every 6 months) But my ND recommended taking something that helped and last month when I tested TSH again it was 1.4 - so I'm glad about that.... There is a temperature test you can do as well to check for sub-clinical thyroid.....

Here is some more info from Lorna Vanderhaeghe's website: (she is well respected in Canada in the natural health industry):

Low Thyroid Infertility Epidemic

Back in 1995 the National Survey for Family Growth in Canada found that 10.2% of couples were infertile. Today that rate has skyrocketed and most of us know a couple that is having trouble conceiving.

Infertility can be caused by several reasons including ovulation disorders, PIDs (Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases), hormone imbalance, endometriosis, age, being over- or under-weight, toxic chemical exposure and low thyroid. Low thyroid is a common problem in this country. The thyroid gland is a super regulator of many systems in the body especially fertility. When a woman has low thyroid the body protects the health of the potential fetus by not allowing the women to become pregnant. It is well-known that women with low thyroid have a difficult time getting pregnant and if low thyroid is not corrected the baby has a 150-fold increase in cerebral palsy expectancy and severe neuro-psychomotor defects. Research has also linked ADHD in children to their mother's thyroid deficiency while pregnant. And ADHD is not the only concern IQ can be affected. One study found that offspring of mom's with low thyroid had children who scored 11 IQ points lower than children born to mom's who did not. With 25% of Canadians currently on thyroid medication and another 30% with subclinical low thyroid-and many not being treated adequately-our children may be affected too. So important is this information that every potential mother should be tested and monitored during pregnancy for optimal thyroid function. And new research has shown that a Thyroid Stimulating Test (TSH) over 2.0 can impede a woman's chances of becoming pregnant - and that you do not have to have severe low thyroid for infertility to be a problem. If you are a women trying to conceive or you know someone attempting to become pregnant tell them this very important piece of information. In Canada a TSH lab test range of normal is approximately 0.5 to 5.5 and most physicians would not classify you as having low thyroid until your thyroid is above 5.5. Knowing that updated research shows a TSH above 2.0 can affect your fertility and the mental abilities of your baby it is important to know your TSH number. Better yet start taking care of your thyroid today. THYROSMART is a combination of safe nutrients designed to support the optimal function of your thyroid gland. It is so safe it can be taken along with thyroid medication too. For women who have a TSH over 2.0 that can not get their doctor to prescribe thyroid medication THYROSMART is the missing key. Take 2 THYROSMART with breakfast daily - and remember always ask for your TSH number when visiting the doctor—don't just accept an answer that your thyroid is fine.

Posey - I hope you are still in the game!!! xoxo Read my post about thyroid - doctors often don't consider it low if it falls within the 'ginormous' range.... Ask what your TSH is... it should be below 2.0 or 2.1 at the highest.

Funny you and Dr. S have low temps - but I have been the opposite my whole life... my normal body temp was always higher (like 36.5 C or something)... (but funny as I feel cold a lot!)

Okay ladies this may be tmi but I have never had this observation before.

I just went upstairs to change and glanced at the mirror and had to do a double take. I am 4-5 dpo and my areolas are HUGE! Is that normal? I started to look closer because it was freaking my out. Then I noticed my veins showing through dramatically on my bbs. I have no idea what has caused this. Please help!!!

Dashka, thank you for the info on low throid function. I think my thyroid function was 1.something, so below 2, but I will double check. That's interesting, the whole thyroid issue... thank you for sharing! You're right, a MD wouldn't consider it a 'problem' until it's 5.5 or close to that... interesting... :flower:

So I think I may be out for this month ladies. I just started to spot. So my temp will probably drop tomorrow morning and AF will be here full force. :(

Now that you mention being out lillyrose, I was thinking the same thing about me except it's been 3 days and nothing yet. It's like AF is teasing me extra this month with twinges and radiating pelvic pains... ::sigh:: And my temps are hovering around the cover line but not crossing it arrrghhhh! the worst part is, I have to let another whole fertility cycle pass before seeing the doc about my test results :( Ah, I guess it's better than wasting a ton more cycles trying before knowing exactly what's wrong and how to fix things.
