Welcome to the 'Two Week Wait'

so its CD 22 I have been continuing OPKs daily eventhough i got a positive back on CD12/13 but todays was super dark positive soooo what do you all think is this my surge ? and what were the others? luckily weve been BD every otherday this whole cycle including yesterday so my plan is to to BD tonight and tommarrow as well in case I misjudged my + OPKs earlier .....ahhh wth

opinions?

When I had my meeting with the Dr. she told me that women also have a surge towards the end of their cycle that will show up on OPK's. I had no idea! Hope this helps.

I also forgot to mention that it does not mean you are ovulating and a positive on the OPK at the end of the cycle is a false positive.

omg omg !!! update... this all of the sudden +opk has been puzzling me all am so i took a hpt (blue dye unfortunately) and immediately see second line..... sooo maybe my CD11/12 + opks were infact +???? if so today is 9/10dpo? skeptical if BFP waiting a few days and testing with pink dye.... fingers crossed

FX'd for you! That is a good sign though!

BnB being down was such a drag yesterday....

AFM: Got the beginning of some EWCM yesterday. I think ov is just around the corner. :) C'mon TWW.

Hey Ella,
I think we will be in the TWW together, I think I ovulated today:) :happydance:

Excellent! There's nothing like a TWW buddy....hopefully at the end we can be bump buddies with Sarah together too! :)

I had some really good EWCM today and my temp dropped like crazy. I think today might be ov day. :)

OMG!!!!! I so so so hope that your BFP is right around the corner, Katie!! Definitely get a FRER and confirm it! And then come right back and tell us the good news! ;) :happydance:

Laura - awww, I hope you feel better soon! The tiredness is probably from that hormone that releases that relaxes all those parts down there that nee dto relax. That was teh on part I liked about being preggo ;) except being that tired & not having coffee is not a whole lot of fun... :hugs:

Sooooo, AFM - I finally broke down crying this morning, too (is there an emo bug in the air or something?). I'm sick & tired of being sick & tired. I have a cyst in my left ovary, which usually isn't a big deal except its symptomatic. It could have been worse tho - we had an ectopic scare (from u/s results & symptoms) but just found out from Dr. that THANK GOD it's not! This is probably the only time I'll ever be happy about a BFN!

I think I'm getting my AF & that's why I'm emotional, too. Also I stopped all hormone creams when I got BFN on 13DPO (I knew) & so I think I'm having a hormone "crash" AND it's helping bring her on. Thank God - bring her on I'm 15DPO now dammit. I want my CD2-3 hormone tests done & overwith so I can move forward. (my way of being positive)

I'm nauseas, have constant sharp pain on left side, feverish & peeing orange (which ruined my nice lacey undies), crying & in a foul mood all at the same time, but I am SO thankful its not ectopic - thank God! I SO want to call out of work today...but I have a big presentation tomorrow for the Big Dog (Director of Eastern U.S.). I guess that would be bad.... at least I'm working from home.

That's my vent for the day. Thanks for listening! :hugs: & :dust:

:hugs: Lil...I'm sorry you're not feel well, but I think we're all allowed to have emotional days, especially when TTC. I'm glad the ectopic scare is over. Hope you feel better soon. :hugs:

Hey ladies I haven't been on here in so long

Welcome back to the TWW! :)

Hi gals. Well, been crying most of the day...I'm trying not to over-react, but I can't help it. Hubbys sperm motility is low (or borderline normal/low I should say), at 40. So, the :spermy: don't swim well... how are they supposed to reach the egg?! Sigh. We're still waiting on the morphology results.

My boss (a family dr) says not to worry too much, because the lab conducted the semen analysis two hours after he dropped off the sample... 'the :spermy: just got tired', he says. He says things are 'probably okay'. I wish I could just not worry, but OF COURSE I'm worried!

Going to see my family doctor on Friday, see what she says. Maybe IUI is in order? We shall see.

Do any of you have any experience with low sperm motility? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

xo :flower:

Hi Posey - please try not to worry - I think 40 is pretty good! Are you talking sperm count or motility? My husband's just came back with 31% motility (Rapid progressive ones) and the Morphology is 68% (it says that morphology greater than 30 is normal)... My ND wasn't worried when she saw his results. He has been taking a lot of supplements to improve like, L-Carnitine, CoQ10, Zinc, Vitamin C etc for the last 5-6 months. Remember that men's sperm is like women's eggs - they need 3 months to improve quality (ie. if you take supplements may take that long to improve)...as it is a 3 month cycle to renew.
Does he have 40% Rapid Progressive ones?... I think the morphology will tell you more! Good luck hun!:hugs:

Maria, Ella, LilS, Gemmy, thank you for your responses. WOW, all you ladies on this thread are the best :flower: I don't share these concerns with many close people in my life, so it's so therapeutic to have you gals here xo

Maria, yes, I will wait on the morphology... our lab 'criteria' for low motility here is below 40, they say to refer men to Fertility Specialists when their motility is below 40 here where I live :) I called the fertility clinic right away when I found out, she said to put the referral through because it takes a while for someone of my age to be seen by the doc anyways (we have one fertility specialist in the city). SO, that is my plan, just have it in place in case we need it.

That's interesting, your hubby has 31%, but 30% rapid progressive? Okay, that sounds positive... my hubby's results didn't differentiate between rapid progressive or other. I'll wait to see what the morph. reveals. GL to you ma'lady xo

Hubby will be ordering FertilPro supplements, and yes I have heard it takes 3 months to benefit. Darn waiting waiting waiting :coffee:

GL to all you ladies, wherever you are. Beautiful, I'm sorry the :witch: came... always so unwelcome, she is.

Here's to hoping we get some BFPs soon xo

Actually Posey - here is exactly what DH's SA says:
Sperm Count 40
Viability - 54%
Motility -
Rapid Progressive - 31 %
Slow or sluggish - 8%
non-progressive - 8%
Immotile - 53%
**Morphology - Normal forms 68 % (and breaks down the rest of them)

Does that help??

This site is driving me NUTS - 2 days down for me & its been funny today so i better post quick;y.

pcbs777 - CONGRATS to you!!!! H&H 9 mos - yay!:happydance:

Posey - That was me asking about Thyroid - so glad its good! I'm sorry about the motility issue. Wait to see what the doctor says, but in the meantime, my cousin's husband has "lazy swimmers" & she swore by preseed. I just saw your chart & looks like you are dipping, so you may actually be able to squeeze that in this cycle? Oh, I'm keeping everythin crossed for you honey - you've had it so rough the last couple of years & you are so young :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Yes LilS is right about Pre-seed -does make it easier for spermies to find the eggy - we've been using it now for like 7-8 cycles at least...

Laura - glad to hear from you! Good luck at the mid-wife tomorrow! so exciting that you are going to tell your inlaws at her 50th b-day! wow she is young! My mom is 67!

Lils - like I said on the other thread - Hope you are feeling better soon! and so glad the ectopic scare is over .... Do take another preg test though until you get AF (especially if you are stopping the creams) Laura got her BFP late!

Moose - OMG!!! FX for you that you get a BFP!!! TEST TEST TEST!!!

Wendy and Ella - good luck on ov !!! xoxo FX!!

Gemmy -sorry to hear that AF arrived - but now you can move upwards and onwards!

Hello to everyone else - you can tell I'm at home today - My AD is having her nap now and get time to myself.... ahh...

Sarah - thanks for your post - I'm really emotional but I was also last cycle so not getting hopes up.... Got sick now - very sore throat and tickle cough... Staying home today as it hurts to talk!
Today I'm 8/9 DPO.... not going to test until Sunday if that.

YAY!!!! for your ORANGE now!!!! wow wow wow!!!

Hey Maria~
I got a very bad sore throat and felt that I was coming down with something. It lasted just a couple days (it came out of the blue and ended out of the blue). That was the month we got our BFP. FX the same is true for you!!!

thanks for that.... I don't know it's very common for me when I do get sick (which is not often) that it's always the week before I get AF.... why is that I wonder? perhaps your immune system goes down prior to AF too...
Hope you are doing well and your little bean is holding like glue!! xoxo

Hi gals. So. His morphology is back, and it's awful. 100% abnormal forms, NO normal sperm. None. My boss says he doubts I'll even be able to get pregnant with his sperm with fertility treatments. Needless to say, I'm devastated. I don't know if I'll stick around here. Blessings to you all. :flower:

Oh no!! Are they going to redo the analysis to confirm the findings? Are they sure IVF won't work? Have they given you any suggestions on how to improve morphology? (like, no alcohol, taking multivitamins- Vit E &C in particular, no caffeine etc.)

I'm devastated for you. Oh, :hugs: Posey. I really hope if they redo it, that the results come back better.... And I can understand if you need a break from here, but know that we're here for you whenever you need it.

just reiterating what the others have said posey - here for you and crossing everything for you that there is light at the end of the tunnel, big hugs xx

Hi Ladies

I Normally only get on here in the evenings so the site being down has meant lots of catching up!

Thank you to all you lovely ladys wishing me well during th witches visit.

Sorry for the ladies feeling poorly, lots going around it seems. I hope you feel better soon!!! :flower:

Sorry for your bad news Posey. :hugs:

Felt a little bit down today as I realised that if my previous pregnancy had continued I would be starting maternity leave about now.

I am fighting to stay positive though. I have started temping  and I have bought loads of opks, which I will start around cd11-13 (ish). DH is fully onboard and has been doing research of his own!

I have a 10K to train for which is in 2 weeks. Its my birthday in a few weeks And work is busy so time will fly for sure. We can do it ladies!!!!!!
Here is my plan for this month:
:sex::spermy::sex::spermy::sex::spermy::drunk::dust::dust::dust::test::bfp::wohoo:

Oh Posey.... How terrible to get that news!! But please don't give up!!! I am sure that there are lots of ways to improve sperm quality ... All the supplements I suggested in another post but here are some again: COQ10 (ubiquinol is better absorbed), Vitamin C, Zinc, L-carnitine (finally avail in Canada again) Omega fish oil and a good multivitamin for Active Men... If you are interested I can give you the dosages that my DH is taking..

It's difficult because the time will take longer but it can be done!! Maybe he can also go to a Naturopathic Dr. Who can also recommend stuff ... You will get there!!! Big hugs we are here for you whenever you need us!!!

Posey- Yes I forgot to say to definitely get a 2nd test as the lab has made mistakes on us before... They told me my AD had hepatitis C and for 2 months I had to live with that fear until it was retested and came back negative.

NO! Oh Posey, honey! I'm so SORRY!

OK, this IS going to make it more difficult, but its NOT impossible! Have him take all the supplements Dashka recommended, & any others, THEN do the 2nd test & just see "if" that helped at all?

I googled briefly, and I am sure you are googling right now, but apparently ICSI is still in even if he has 100% abnormal sperm. Fortunately, an abormal sperm CAN in fact produce a baby w/o defects (due to morph, that is) it just can't penetrate an egg. I found something posted on another blog that confirms this, too:

ICSI "0% morphology"

"Havanajims" is now 9 weeks pregnant from an IVF with ICSI, her DH had zero morph and ISCI did the job. In fact, out of 17 mature eggs, they got 13 embryos, which seems very good to me.

We're just not sure what we are doing about the freezing option. One RE told us to consider it but a different one said not necessary. We are awaiting the opinion of a urologist on DH's situation.

Regarding supplements: my RE is not very enthusiastic about them. So we've done our own research on the web (research studies and medical journal reports), and we've come up with pycnogenal, arginine, CoQ10 and this super-duper sperm regenerators "Conception XR for Men" (you can google it). Conception RX is "formulated by a panel of leading fertiity specialists"--looks to me like a fertility researcher has started his own business on the side, Fertiity Sciences. The pills contain: Vitamins C and E, Folic Acid, Zinc, Selenium, L-carnitine, and Lycopene (email me if you want the levels). The back of the box explains how and why each one helps sperm quality, with citations from medical studies. These pills don't contain pyc, arg, or CoQ so hubby just adds them.

Good luck!

Hang in there girl, we are ALL HERE FOR YOU!!!! :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: We understand if you stay away for a while, but just remember, you are NOT out yet!!!!

Ladies, all of your sweet comments have made me feel very thankful. I will still check in here, I want to know how you're all doing, I just won't have much to add :) We are putting our trying on 'hold' obviously, as it is likely futile. I thought I would just tell you all, and then leave here because I couldn't handle all of your (hopefully!) good news... anyways, it's been a few hours now and I'm settling into the news, and I just can't imagine not having you ladies for support... lol. So anyways, I will still check in and be around, thank you thank you :)

He has ordered FertilPro, a supplement containing all of the good stuff. I'm going to look into what it's missing, for example I don't know if it contains co-enzyme Q10... anyways, we're looking into this all, thank you so much for all of the info.

We are doing another semen analysis again in a few weeks, and probably more along the way. I have booked a (private pay) consultatnt with our local fertility specialist, so hopefully I can get in to see him soon soon soon... so I will wait to see what he says in terms of ever achieving a pregnancy. It looks like IUI/IVF/ICSI are in our future, which I was so scared of but now I just hope that the doc will recommend one to us... I can't imagine never carrying my own baby, our own baby. I want to adopt too, but I want the pregnancy/biological child experience.

Thank you all for thinking of me, I hope you all have better luck lol. Gosh, we all deserve this so much. :flower:

Oh Posey. I'm so sorry sweetie. Definitely get a second check though. The same thing happened to one of my friends. They were told that they would never conceive together and they have twins through IVF now. :hugs:
