Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

hi ladies
Lovely bear - I eventually gave in and tested yesterday - as it was 14 dpo. BFN!! but I was expecting it. So will just have to wait for af to start and try again next cycle.

Crylynn - how you doing?

Skweek35, I am so sorry. Keep trying, it will happen for you. Try to relax and not strees out about it. It feels so good to let go and let God.

I really am not too fussed that I didnt get my bfp now as I am on school holidays for 6 weeks now - so lots of time to kick my feet up, relax and chill over the next few weeks - not that this week has been easy going - trying to move classrooms!!!
Hopefully get some down time next week!!!

skweek35 - I have not been doing too good these last few days. I suffer from anxiety and have panic attacks and I have just been having a hard time. So for now I decided to unplug from my facebook account, step away from work for a while and try to recharge my batteries. I am going to keep charting this month but I am not going to actually TTC. Just take the pressure off myself for that one thing at least. The good thing is that I work from home so unplugging from outside things is pretty easy when I need to.

Sorry!!! Don't mean to be a debby downer

Crylynn, I used to have panic attacks and let me tell you they are real as hell. I managed to overcome them by drinking a Very cold glass of water as soon as I felt one coming on. I never chugged it, just took nice slow sips and deep calm breaths. I have NO idea why it worked but it calmed me down. They stopped and never came back. I thank GOD so much for that because they are very frightening. I used to think I would have to go to the hospital. When it happens, tell yourself that it is just for a couple mins. and it will go away. You sound like you may have some depression and maybe your hormones are off. I am not a doctor but exercise and simple one a day vitamins REALLY contributed to healing my anxiety. I started exercising and I felt much better and even my depression went away. It is all about taking care of YOU. You are number ONE. YOu are unique and special and you need to make it a priorety to relax, don't think too hard about tomorrow and don't let your fears get the best of you. I know, you probably already know that. I just so remember being JUST LIKE YOU! Having those problems. Since I started doing the stuff I suggested, I got better. It took a bit of time but it was necessary for my body to get back into balance. I sure hope you get your BFP as soon as the good Lord desires...and he DOES! He put this desire in us to have a child so he will fulfill it. Okay, I don't want to chat your ear off so I will go. Next time you have a panic attack, just give it a try and remember to tell yourself it is only for a little bit and it will go away. HUGS and BABY DUST. You are making a fantastic choice to relax and unplug. Focus on YOU!

SKweek35, you really sound like you could use the time off. My friend is a teacher and she suffers like you. It is a hectic and overbearing responsibility to be a teacher. I don't think people are aware that many teachers have to bring their work home so that they can keep it up. I hope you are feeling better. Hey! You know, relaxing is just want you need to conceive! It usually happens that way. HUGS and lots of baby dust.

Hiya ladies

crylynn - I am so glad you have decided to cut a few things out of your life for now - take things really easy and concentrate on what you can cope with now.

Loveybear - I am so glad I have a month off work now - I am planning on spending as much time as possible relaxing and chilling out. And hopefully I get my bfp next month!!

I am so sad rgt nw .i feel lyk crying.i am ttc after a rev of a tl ,after 7yrs, i have 3 daughters.yes dats rgt i need i son.any tips encouraing wrds.sumthing.

Queenlatifa, don't cry honey, everything will be o.k. Does the reversed tubal ligation guarantee that your tubes are fully open? What kind of lubrication do you use? The best kind is Preseed. You can find it online. Are you taking a prenatal every day? Also, do you use ovulation predictors? These things can all help you conceive. Also, you may want to look into some feritlity herbs. We have all had a long journey and been in tears too. You are welcome to chat. Give it some time. How long has it been since your procedure? Also, have you had your man's sperm count checked??

Hi Ladies:hi:
Wondered if I can join you...??
Am a newbie to this site, but not to others....but was very impressed whilst lurking and reading through posts on here...so much information and knowledgeable women!
Just wanted to introduce myself - feeling quite alone in this journey so far, being an older 40 year old and trying to conceive second child (my daughter is 10 now)...such a hard road we travel!! lol
Would love to make some new virtual friends to travel this with!

Hi everyone. I am trying to conceive my first with my husband of 4 and a half years. I have 2 already one grown one preteen and he as one grown. I thought it would be no big deal but now I am not sure. I am going at it full tilt monitor, fertilaid, extra folic acid etc. I had no idea the cycles were this complicated. Good luck to everyone and thanks for giving us a place to come together about the journey.

Hi, I'm new to this site and glad to see a forum for women of my age ttc .
I already have 2 children a boy almost 16 and an 11 year old girl. My husband and I would love just one more and have been ttc for 6 months now without success.
I have just ordered some ovulation detector sticks and hope that I get good luck from them this month!:happydance:

Anyway, It's great to be here and want to send everyone on the forum lots of luck and sprinkles of baby dust x:thumbup:

Hey Prickly, WELCOME! It sounds like you have done your research. You can also take evening primrose oil. It helps produce more cervical mucus. I am glad I read your post. I just had surgery for endometriosis. I am on the Menopur meds now for fertility. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to see how my follicles are. Then IUI probably Saturday or Sunday...maybe. I am hoping this works. I have had 4 IUI's already but this was before they found endometriosis. AMAZING! I had my first period with NO back pain or severe cramping in years. WOW! I am sure the surgery helped. Doc. said that my endo was significant enough to cause the pain I was having. I am anxious! I can feel it coming. I need to remember to TRUST GOD! RELAX! I know! I hate it when people tell me to relax expecially when ttc! But true! It helps me feel at peace and your body needs that.

Anyways, I could go on forever but I am very tired and had a very long day at work.

SKweek35, how are you doing honey?

Queenlatifa, whatcha been up to? I hope you are feeling a bit more positive today. I know it is hard. I will pray for you ladies okay?
BIG HUGS AND Lots of baby dust your way! ! !

Zaccyboo and Babyforus, welcome! We are all in this together. I would recommend you try Guaifenesin 12 hour pills right before you ovulate like 2-3 days before so for about 5 days you can take it. 3 before ovulation and 2 after ovulation. THis will help the little swimmers. Also you can use Pre-Seed lubricant. It is HARM-LESS to sperm! Very big deal! Most lubricants KILL sperm. Also you can use Evening Primrose Oil (Capsules) and you can find them at any general nutrition store or Artesian Foods store. This helps you produce more cervical fluid to assist the little swimmers as well. Drink lots of water and get PLENTY of rest. If your body is not in duress, you will get pregnant quicker. I am not a doc. but I have read Thousands of pages of literature and these are just little things that are a BIG help in the ttc world.
HUGS and best of luck! Keep in touch! OH! I forgot to put my disclaimer in here that you probably ALREADY know this info. but just in case, I thought it would help.

Hi! I don't officially qualify in the "over 35" category though I am 34 & never had a child, never been pregnant. My husband is 10 years older than me with grown children. We began trying about 5 months ago. Someone told me the other day that Geritol and/or Robitussin Guafenisen helps to conceive... I was blown away... anybody have experience with either of these helping?! Supposedly Robitussin helps to thin mucus to allow the little swimmers to get where they need to be.

We are both overweight but are working on getting a home farm off the ground so healthy food will taste better!

Will be praying for those TTC; God-willing we will all be pregnant by the end of the year!

Nice to meet you all; I look forward to chatting with you & learning from you all in the future!

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to the forum. Glad I found this forum. I'm 35 years old and trying for my first. I've been trying for 6 months. I thought it would be a breeze. Feeling really down. Anyone else feeling this way?

Baby dust to you and me

Hi I'm 37 and also trying for my first for 9 months now and I know how you feel. however my doctor told me that two years of trying is normal once you are 34 plus so I guess we have to be patient -which is hard when all your friends are pregnant or on their 2nd or third child!

Hello All,
I am newbie to this Website, I am trying properly 6 months but nothing yet, both my hubbie and I are 35, thinking of going to the Doc next month as it will be a nearly a year without using protection and nothing!!!!!

fingers crossed for all!
Finding it hard to see everyone I know pregnant or aslo on the 2nd or thinking about the 3rd baby ...i will have to avoid ppl soon!!!!!!

bump.....how is everyone doing?:hugs:

You are like me trying 4 #2. I can't believe how frustrating and depressing this babymaking experience can be. I got pregnant quickly with #1. We married in 2007 and #1 was born in 2008. I am 43 in october and my husband is 49 in october. I was almost 40 when Anna was born. Any other 40+ mom's out there? My doctor said my clock may have ticked when I said to him "my clock is ticking". He made me feel discouraged. Then I read books on infertility and got hopeful that it can happen in your fortys. I hope so. write back soon.
thanks,
